AAA’s La Parka suffered a significant injury Saturday night in the main event of the KAOZ Arena Coliseo Monterrey show. La Parka went for a tope on Rush. Rush was standing near the barricade, expecting Parka to get to him and perhaps take his bump over the barricade. Parka didn’t get that far, movingly slowly and clipping the middle rope with his thigh on the way over. Parka was at Rush’s knee level by the time he reached Rush, making no catch possible. Parka instead went head-first into the barricade, video of which went viral late Sunday night. The collision with the barricade appears to have done the most damage, but to Parka and the barricade (which broke on impact.) A paralyzed Parka was rushed to the emergency room at Monterrey’s OCA Hospital. He did wake up and started to regain feeling in his extremities while under observation. Parka underwent surgery this morning around 5 AM. AAA announced he’s now in recovery. SuperLuchas reported the injuries as neck & cervical fracture and the operation “to relieve pressure” and to repair a fractured vertebre.
La Parka is 53 and has spent the last three decades as a wrestler. He’s famous more for his comedy than his wrestling, but it’s a long time to be in the ring. La Parka also suffered a severe set of injuries to his left arm following a car accident in April 2007. AAA’s limited his TV appearances – he only appeared talking on Saturday, which ha happened frequently this year. It’s possible Parka was prolonging his career primarily to team with his son, who has started recently as Karis La Momia. He may not get the chance. We’ll know more later on, but the severity of the injury may mean this is the end of Parka’s career.
It is possible Rush may have stood closer to the ring, had he worked more with the AAA La Parka prior. (This appears to be their first match.) Parka coming short up on topes is normal. Still, it is hard to assign much blame to Rush for being in a normal position to catch a dive. Parka ran slowly and caught his leg on the middle rope on the way out. There should be more consideration to cutting out dives from older wrestlers who have trouble doing them; no fan was going to think more or less of Parka for doing a dive on that show. There is a general belief that the fans are owed all the usual spots from the luchadors in every match, but maybe that needs to change.
Full results from that show.
AAA , KAOZ (SUN) 10/20/2019 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [@thekoko666]
1) Mini Difunto & Mini Hator b Mini Histeria & Mini Psycho Clown
good match. Set up a Mini Hator vs Fresero Jr. match????
2) Casandro & Dulce Kanela b Mamba & Pimpinela Escarlata
Mamba betrayed Pimpi.
3) Faby Apache b La Hiedra, Lady Shani, Vanilla [Copa Martha Villalobos]
4) Sexy Dulce b Christi Jaynes [KAOZ WOMEN]
Dulce retained. Fresero seconded Dulce and Iguana Jaynes, leading the (former?) tag partners to fight post match.
5) Súper Nova © b Emperador Azteca (IWRG), Rico Rodríguez, Mr. Iguana, Australian Suicide, Halcón Negro Jr., Vazco Jr., Azrael, Fresero Jr., Dylong, Oro Negro, Epydemius [KAOZ CRUISER]

6) Averno, Chessman, Súper Fly b Hijo de LA Park, Hijo del Volador, LA Park Jr.
7) El Divo & La Bestia Del Ring b Abismo Negro Jr. & Hijo De Wagner
8) Rush b LA Park, La Parka, Murder Clown [KAOZ HEAVY]
Match was not specifically announced until it got to the ring, with Murder Clown as a surprise. La Parka went head first into a barricade on a dive and was taken to the ER. Finished included Konnan & OGT interference to help Rush, who won with a foul. Rush rejected Konnan & AAA, insisting he would remain independent and go after LA Park’s mask.
Strong turnout for this show. I want to know how Fresero qualified for a Cruiserweight match (beyond “he was there and needed to be in a match.”
There’s obviously a destination in mind for the Rush/AAA stuff and I don’t believe they’re going to hold it off all the way to his ROH contract ending or TripleMania. ROH’s not going to stop Rush from working AAA if CMLL won’t work with him. Guerra de Titanes on 12/14 may not work – ROH runs their PPV on 12/13 and typically tapes TV the day after – but it is a matter of time.
Penta & Fenix will reportedly be part of that 12/14 Guerra de Titanes show in Ciudad Madero. They were in Naucalpan last night.
MDA (SUN) 10/20/2019 Arena Naucalpan
1) Black Dragón & Príncipe Aéreo b Atomic Star & Auzter
2) Leo & Mike b Ra-Zhata & Shil-Ka
Shil-Kah suffered an injury during the match but turned out to be fine.
3) Fly Warrior & Puma de Oro b Fulgor I & Fulgor II
4) Imposible b Alas De Plata, Brazo De Oro Jr.
5) Dinamic Black & Hijo de Canis Lupus DQ Demonio Infernal & Lunatik Xtreme
Dinamic Black replaced Dragon Bane (injury). DQ for mask removal.
6) Penta 0M & Rey Fénix (Indie) b La Máscara & Puma King
Penta won with a mask pull on Puma King after they had switched masks.
Strong turnout. I heard the third match was good. Fenix wrestling suggests his nose injury is not severe; he should be wrestling on the AEW show this Wednesday. MDA says they’re back on 11/10.
Flammer Xtreme defeated Walrus for his hair on the Coliseo Coacalco anniversary show. The surprise wrestler on the show was the returning El Magnifico, a long time regular in the arena (and son of promoter Justicerio) who had not been seen there in two years.
Tonight’s Arena Puebla show has Caristico, Mistico, and Valiente teaming up against NGD. Last week teased a Forastero/Caristico match again; hopefully Forastero getting a singles match on Sunday will cause CMLL to go in a slightly different direction. Soberano & Stuka team with Atlantis to take on Ephesto, Mephisto and Mr. Niebla. That’s not a strong rudo trio. It is still a stronger rudo trio than Vangellys, Mascara 2000 and Luciferno, who take on Kraneo, Volcano and Rey Cometa. Astro & Sonic turn up in the opener, Star Jr. & Asturiano are in the second, but this show is weak on rudos. It’ll start at 9 pm; it’ll be one hour later next week.
CMLL wrestlers will appear on Saturday at Puebla International Museum of the Barque. This has been a weird local political story for weeks over fears the museum was going to pivot to being lucha libre focused.
GALLI streamed the missing lucha libre match from Saturday’s Impact All Glory show. Impact didn’t stream the match due to tech issues and was streaming from their phone the rest of the show.
Wednesday’s AAA show in San Luis Potosi, headlined by LA Park vs Pagano vs Psycho Clown, appears to have been a sellout. That would be around 3,400 people.
Segunda Caida reviews a bunch of El Mosco in WWE.

6) Carístico, Terrible, Valiente vs Diamante Azul, Místico, Último Guerrero [Relevos Increíbles]
So much for Niebla/Caristico. If they’re still doing a Caristico match, maybe it’s with Mistico.
Misterioso versus Sagrado is a true dream match. I’m heartbroken they’re doing it on a non-taped show. I want a full week of vignettes of both men training for this big fight.

7) Dragón Bane, Hijo de Canis Lupus, Toxin vs Black Danger, Genio del Aire, Mirage
This show is this week. I forgot! Maybe they did too since we got a full card after just peeling them off. Hopefully Dragon Bane is good to go for that DF vs Tijuana main event.
CMLL (SUN) 10/27/2019 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Javier Cruz Jr., Leo, Omar Brunetti vs Joker, Sádico, Vaquero Jr.
2) Silueta & Súper Estrella vs Metálica & Sexy Sol
3) Gallo, Johnny Dinamo, Principe Daniel vs Exterminador, Maléfico, Ráfaga
4) Difunto, Rey Bucanero, Satánico vs Furia Roja, Hechicero, Hijo del Villano III
5) Atlantis Jr., Carístico, Fugaz vs Cuatrero, Sansón, Universo 2000 Jr.
Fugaz didn’t win Gran Alternativa. He does get to main event his hometown arena in a match with DF wrestlers. Hechicero versus Satanico is there to be noticed so I’m noticing it.
