This year’s CMLL Gran Alternativa has been unpredictable. Star Jr. has been one of the better CMLL youngsters and yet wouldn’t have been a likely winner going into this tournament. Fugaz wasn’t even in the tournament when it started, a late replacement for Star Black. There’s no telling even if there are big plans for either guy coming out of this, or if this will just go down as one of those tournaments that are quickly forgotten. I’m leaning towards Fugaz getting the win, more because of Mistico than anyway thing between the two rookies, but I’m not confident.
Valiente pointed out no one thought he would win the Universal tournament and he did that. He and Star Jr. are set on this idea the crowd is going to be against them tonight. I’m not so sure, given how often Mistico gets booed.
Fugaz has been noticeably missing since he won his block. He was mentioned as doing on a radio interview, we just haven’t seen him in the ring. It is possible CMLL just brought him to Mexico City for a couple of weeks to get him ready for this match. Even if that’s right, it remains strange they wouldn’t have him out doing press this week to promote the final as they did with Star Jr. & Valiente. Maybe they’re saving his interviews for after the final.
Nothing too important going on with the rest of the card. Los Guerreros take on Angel de Oro, Diamante Azul and Caristico in a typical semimain. NGD face Atlantis Jr., Audaz and Soberano in the best looking match outside of the main event. Rey Cometa and Stigma meet for the first time in a lightning match. The Panther kids, stuck forever in this position, team with Pegasso against Misterioso, Sagrado and Okumura. The minis get a Friday opening match, with Angelito & Fantasy taking on Pequeno Nitro & Pierrothito.
The show airs at 8:30 pm CT on Marca’s YouTube. I’ll stream it as well.
Lucha Central has a preview of the show.
Cain Velasquez will team with Rey Mysterio on the WWE show in Mexico City on 11/30. It’ll be back Arena Ciudad de Mexico, site of TripleMania. No opponents are mentioned. Velasquez still has an AAA match pending.
AAA’s Lucha Capital Episode 2 will include Super Fly, Lady Maravilla, Dave the Clown, Tito Santana, Dinastia, Puma King, Arez, Taurus, La Hiedra, Mocho Cota Jr., Hijo del Vikingo, and Faby Apache. No matches will be announced until people walk out. The women did all face each other last time, so we might be able to guess that match. There will be two Poder del Norte matches after none this past week.
If everyone is getting one match before anyone gets two (iffy at best), next week’s lineup is Carta Brava Jr, Bengala, Pagano, Octagon Jr., Psycho Clown, Mamba, Murder Clown, Mr. Iguana, Abismo Negro Jr., Lady Shani, Vanilla and Keyra.
Puma King has a new video comparing Lucha Libre and Wrestling.
RIOT 11/02 “420” lineup
- Kill Korton vs Madness
- Oro Negro vs Mr. Iguana vs Charro Negro
- Aramis vs Arez (c) for the RIOT Championship
- Latigo, CIMA, Skayde vs Kratoz, Erik Ortiz, Prometeo
- Caifan II vs Demonio del Aire

It’s been a while since RIOT has had a women’s match. I think they have one ore match coming.
Pro Wrestling Revolution 11/06 in San Francisco has Flamita vs Puma King.
Lineups
CMLL (TUE) 10/22/2019 Arena México
1) Kaligua & Shockercito vs Pequeño Universo 2000 & Pequeño Violencia
2) Oro Jr., Retro, Robin vs Disturbio, Hijo del Signo, Inquisidor
3) Blue Panther, Drone, Rey Cometa vs Dark Magic, Okumura, Universo 2000 Jr.
4) Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Tiger [lightning]
5) El Audaz, Kráneo, Volcano vs Ephesto, Luciferno, Pólvora
6) Ángel de Oro, Niebla Roja, Stuka Jr. vs Felino, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero
A show. So many singles matches for Guerrero Maya, would be cool if they meant anything. The Forastero foul on Niebla Roja doesn’t seem to be setting up anything, though perhaps Niebla Roja will get a title defense anyway.
NLL (THU) 10/31/2019 Auditorio General José María Arteaga, Querétaro, Querétaro
1) Rossy Moreno vs Kong Alvarado, Princesa Azul, Sucii Love [NLL WOMEN, torneo]
2) Black Terry vs Skayde, Oriental
3) Jack Evans vs Mr. Leo
4) Dark Cuervo & Dark Scoria vs Emperador Azteca (Indie) & Sangre Azteca and Cien Caras Jr. & Hijo de Máscara Año 2000
5) Brazo De Oro Jr. vs Súper Nova, Mexica, Hijo Del Ángel, Fly Warrior [Amos del Aire Nacion]
6) El Mesías & Mr. Electro vs Hijo de LA Park & LA Park Jr.
7) Alberto el Patron del Rio, Hijo De Dos Caras, LA Park vs La Bestia Del Ring, La Máscara, Rush
Alberto is back, just in time to face Los Ingobernables. It still surprises me he’s taking wrestling matches with that MMA PPV coming; the WON mentioned AEW’s Jake Hager specifically is not wrestling until after his next MMA bout for concern of an injury that would derail the MMA fight. The PPV Alberto is on is completely built around his match so it’s even more a risk.
Los Ingobernables listed as such; if they can get in on TV without trouble, then we probably shouldn’t worry about CMLL name issues going forward. Title tournaments are starting in the undercard.
RCH (SUN) 11/17/2019 Arena Naucalpan
1) Lunatik Fly vs Astrolux, Tromba, Príncipe Aéreo
2) Demonio Infernal & Quetzal vs Iron Kid & Star Fire
3) Trittón vs Aramis
4) Trauma I & Trauma II vs Emperador Azteca & Sangre Azteca
5) Látigo vs Atomic Star [mask, hair]
6) Penta 0M & Rey Fénix (Indie) vs La Bestia Del Ring & Rush
Full updated card. Black Terry & Arez seem to be off the card with the changes.
