AAA in Morelia, The Crash/MLW w/Dragon Lee, CMLL weekend results

Iron Kid

AAA TV (SAT) 10/05/2019 Palacio del Arte, Morelia, Michoacán [AAA, Lucha Central, thecubsfan]

2) Cíclope & Miedo Extremo b Aramis & Toxin [TLC]  (posted by Lucha Libre AAA (Twitch))
8:44. Toxin was injuried early on and Aramis worked 1 vs 2 until he was beat by a Miedo Extremo 450 splash.
3) Dinastía & Lady Shani b La Hiedra & Látigo  (posted by Lucha Libre AAA (Twitch))
8:41. Lady Shani won via headscissors backcracker on Latigo.
4) Carta Brava Jr., Mocho Cota Jr., Tito Santana b Faby Apache, Octagón Jr., Pimpinela Escarlata  (posted by Lucha Libre AAA (Twitch))
11:00. Mocha Cota beat Faby Apache after the usual Poder del Norte sequence and Tirantes attacking Faby. Faby attacked him post match.
5) Aerostar, Murder Clown, Niño Hamburguesa b Abismo Negro Jr., Monsther Clown, Texano Jr.  (posted by Lucha Libre AAA (Twitch))
11:58. Aerostar beat Monster Clown with a top rope tijeras after mask ripping.
6) Blue Demon Jr., Chessman, Rey Escorpión b Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano, Psycho Clown  (posted by Lucha Libre AAA (Twitch))
16:02. Chessman fouled Pagano for the win. Blue Demon was wearing joker facepaint under his mask for whatever reason. The lights went out during this match and came back late.

I liked the opener, I liked the mixed tag, but this show felt designed as a show to fill time. If you didn’t watch it live, wait for it to turn up on YouTube or wait to subscribe for Heroes Inmortales. It didn’t seem like a strong turnout for this show; this is a decent size building (5,000 seats) but it felt more empty than most AAA TV tapings lately. Most have been good so this might have just been the exception.

On Instagram, Toxin said he got seven stitches for his injury and was planning on making today’s show in Monterrey.

AAA’s posed highlights of the taping the next day, which is a nice addition.

There was no mention of the LA show being postponed/canceled/taken to a farm upstate. The only indication that it was off was Heroes Inmortales show mentioned as the next show. I may have hit the point too often already but I feel like asking for AAA to send out a message along the lines of “sorry Los Angeles fans, our return is going to be delayed a bit, thanks for your patience” is not too much to ask for out of AAA. I’m wrong, apparently.

The Crash (SAT) 10/05/2019 Auditorio de Tijuana, Tijuana, Baja California [SoCal Uncensored, Zona Ruda]
1) Próximo & Terror Azteca b Ovett Jr. & Torito Negro
2) Oráculo b Black DangerRicky Marvin
3) Animal, Demencia, Silver Star b Arandú, Star Boy, Zarco
the 3v3 apuesta match was agreed to, with Peluche putting his hair on the line instead for the bald Arandu.
4) Mjf & Richard Holiday b Hijo de LA Park & LA Park Jr.
5) Jimmy Havoc b Damián 666Savio Vega
6) Brian Pillman Jr. & Davey Boy Smith Jr. b Dragón Lee (Munoz) & Extreme Tiger
7) Rey Horus © DQ Hammerstone [The Crash HEAVY]
8) Bestia 666, LA Park, Mecha Wolf b Ikuro Kawn, Josef Samael, Simon Gotch
Ikuro Kawn replaced Fatu.

This seemed like a sellout with the positive reviews for the show overall though no standout match. A plus side to the CMLL guys being pulled off the show is MLW can use pretty much any of the matches and they did indicate they’re airing the full show.

Rush did appear to set up a tag match (keep reading), and Dragon Lee & Bestia del RIng attacked LA Park after the main event to tease the Rush/LA Park match once again. Bestia 666 made the save for his father after the Havoc match, so they’re back to being on the same page here. Rebelion Amarilla have essentially become the home team who cheat occasionally and not true rudos, so that makes sense.

This show might be better remembered for the people who missed it. I’ve got the list as Minoru Tanaka, Mance Warner, Teddy Hart, Soberano Jr., Barbaro Cavernario, Angel de Oro, Niebla Roja, Marshall Von Erich, and Ross Von Erich. That’s a lot even by Mexican wrestling standards. The Crash decided to stay with the Munoz family and CMLL responded by pulling their four wrestlers, something that was announced just at bell time. Warner is out injured. Fatu ended up working another show. I’m not completely sure about the rest.

This seems to essentially mean the end of The Crash/CMLL alliance. The Crash is going to keep using Dragon Lee & Rush as long as they’re available to them, which means CMLL won’t send talent and will dissuade their own wrestlers from working those shows. “Dissuade” doesn’t appear to mean prohibit; Caristico and Dragon Lee teamed Sunday in Naucalpan, on a show that must’ve been booked directly thru Caristico and so CMLL wouldn’t have a role in stopping it.

matches announced for The Crash 11/01 Anniversary show

Dragon Lee being announced on 11/01 is vastly interesting because Dragon Lee figured to be in Osaka on 11/01, the last stop on the Power Struggle tour before NJPW’s major show on 11/03. Titan & Dragon Lee are on the posters for that tour, so Dragon Lee being free to work The Crash show would suggest he’s been dropped from the tour and potentially that NJPW has decided to pick CMLL over Dragon Lee in this messy divorce. My impression today is Dragon Lee is still likely to be on the NJPW tour and so there’s probably some change coming with The Crash match. The Junior Tag League teams should be announced soon, maybe even on tonight’s NJPW show, so we’ll know more than too.

Note that Fenix & Penta are headlining this same building a week prior for EMW too.

CMLL (SAT) 10/05/2019 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Inquisidor & Príncipe Odín Jr. b Bengala & Sangre Imperial
rudos took 1/3
2) Cancerbero, Hijo del Signo, Raziel b Eléctrico, Príncipe Diamante, Sonic
Sonic replaced Halcon Suriano Jr. Rudos took 1/3.
3) Átomo, Gallito, MicroÁngel DQ Chamuel, Guapito, Mije
Guapito replaced Zakarias, MicroAngel replaced Microman, which left no micro to referee. An unidentified short (but not micro short) young man worked as referee. Tecnicos took 2/3, the last when Chamuel unmasked Gallito.
4) Black Panther, El Audaz, Guerrero Maya Jr. b Olímpico, Pólvora, Vangellys
tecnicos took 2/3
5) Dulce Gardenia, Valiente, Volador Jr. b Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
tecnicos took 2/3
6) Mephisto b Ángel de Oro
Mephisto took 1/3, the last with an unseen foul

Gallito and Chamuel tease a match, though that may have only happened because Microman wasn’t supposed to be there. That match was MicroAngel’s first match in a year; he’d basically been switched to being a referee without the retirement match against Virus. CMLL’s photos thoroughly avoid any photos of the referee of that match.

CMLL (SUN) 10/06/2019 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Acero & Aéreo b Pequeño Olímpico & Pequeño Universo 2000
tencicos took 2/3
2) Oro Jr., Star Jr., Stigma b Disturbio, Espanto Jr., Nitro
tecnicos took 2/3
3) Black Panther, Blue Panther, Blue Panther Jr. b Okumura, Pólvora, Universo 2000 Jr.
Okumura replaced Misterioso. Tecnicos took 1/3.
4) Ángel de Oro, Kráneo, Niebla Roja DQ Felino, Rey Bucanero, Terrible
tecnicos took 1/3, the last by DQ with Terrible fouled Kraneo.
5) Templario DRAW Soberano Jr. © [MEX WELTER]
Templario took fall 1, Soberano took fall 2, the third fall ended in a double pin. 9th defense
6) Gilbert el Boricua, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas b Atlantis, Diamante Azul, Místico
rudos took 1/3.

Soberano talks about retaining his title. He wasn’t happy with the draw and offers Templario a title match (but still wants a mask match.) It’ll air  next week if you want to find out if you’re not happy with it too.

Dalys and Templario both mentioned the CMLL bodybuilding contest is on 11/27. There was thought it may go away without Paco Alonso around. It lives, at least one more year.

Soldado del Muerte won HIjo de Mr. Andoride’s mask in Guadalajara. Hijo de Mr. Andoride is Jose Angel Guerrero, 3 years a wrestler.

  1. Them not mentioning Los Angeles to me is more a plain old “we aren’t coming” than anything near “we are coming just wait and we are sorry”. Just avoid it like it was never a thing. Avoid it the way they did promoting it.

  2. No offense to Dragon Lee but who do you think New Japan going to choose? Especially since Dragon Lee is on wwe and AEW radars. Just make sense to stick with cmll.
