tecnicos took 2/3, the last by DQ when UG fouled Mistico to set up a singles match.

Puebla was headed to Mistico vs UG last week, Ultimo Guerrero wins almost all their singles matches (Mistico won the last one), so Ultimo Guerrero defeating Mistico next week would mean nothing special in a normal context. This is not a normal context, this was Mistico wrestling his first CMLL match since his brothers were fired. Mistico has said he plans on staying in CMLL and is going to have to deal with everyone’s expecting him to flee whenever he’s free to do so. That everyone may include CMLL itself, which may make the next stretch of his career rough. On the other hand, most people expected a guy like Robin to leave CMLL after members of his family were fired and he’s still hanging around in openers. Mistico’s going to be on Informa this week, which is going to be a fun chat.

CMLL announced an absurd 13 people for CMLL Informa this week. They’re having groups of people to talk about their Aniversario matches and Gran Alternativa. Reycko was mentioned and he’s not yet in either, though I guess he’s in the tournament. The Rush/Dragon Lee story has gotten enough attention that CMLL probably needs someone more in an official position of power than JCR to assure the type of diehards who come to Informa that everything is alright. The issue is that that message has to come from Sofia Alonso, or it would confirm she’s doesn’t have the power she did last time, and who knows if she wants to be the public face of this mess. Whoever made the call to send out that press release should stand behind it and explain it to the true believers who are at Wednesday talk show, but often it seems like the only brave people in CMLL are those in the ring.

Policeman, Loco Max, Kalifa and Gato Gris were honored by the Puebla government for their contributions to local lucha libre.

+LuchaTV has a new edition of their podcast. There is loud hammering for about the first 25 minutes. It stops about for about 10 minutes and then comes back.

Rush’s press conference was moved to Wednesday. His tweet says it’s 5 pm, his graphic says it’s 5:30, so figure on 6 pm. It may be starting as CMLL Informa finishes up.

Penta & Fenix may no longer be working the 10/23 Lucha Va Voom show, a show that happened to be the same night as the semi-finals of the AEW tag team tournament. They are advertising Soberano & Rey Horus vs Hijo de Dr. Wagner & Magno as the main event for that night now, and Soberano & Rey Horus vs Penta Zero M & Rey Fenix on the next day. Given recent situations, I hope Soberano has very clear permission to work that match. Lucha Va Voom doesn’t always advertise matches so it seems notable they put that Lucha Brothers information out there.

On his podcast, Dave Meltzer mentioned the segment on WWE Raw last night where Brock Lesnar destroyed Rey Mysterio and his son is hoped to lead to Cain Velasquez coming in to face Lesnar. Meltzer notes that WWE hasn’t actually signed Velasquez at this point. As best as we know, Velasquez can’t sign with anyone until after the AAA LA show is completed. I have no idea what that means if the AAA LA show is canceled or postponed.

AAA held a press conference to announce it’s participation with the 10/27 Guadalajara Fair, with a show at Auditorio Benito Juarez. It does not appear to be a Twitch show; they’re streaming the night before. One of the matches on the show is Copa Revolucion, where AAA wrestlers will wear masks representing different cities in the state. (Poster says 14, but 12 towns are listed.) They did a draw to determine which wrestlers would get each mask. I took my best guess at following along, but this is probably not perfectly correct.

  • Bengala – Chapala
  • Octagon Jr. – Lagos de Moreno
  • Eclipse – Cihuatlán
  • Argenis – Colotlán
  • Villano III Jr. – Zapotitlán
  • Dinastia – Sayula
  • Abismo Negra Jr. – Amecca
  • Murder Clown – Zapotlanejo
  • Ultimo Maldito – Union de Tula
  • Mini Gronda – Acatlán
  • Tiger Boy – Tepatitlán
  • Aramis – Puerto Vallerta

That’s not all the big cities of Jalisco; I think I could find someone to represent Tala. For what it’s worth, the LA show didn’t come up in the press conference. Though neither did this weekend’s show either; they only mentioned the Antonio Pena mass on Thursday. Vikingo not being involved in a show about three weeks from now doesn’t seem like a great sign, but maybe he’s elsewhere.

GALLI has a poster for Bound for Glory with Aerostar, Wagner & Taurus on it (as well as Konnan), so they’re probably the team taking on the Rascalz on 10/20 outside of Chicago. They also have a link for $10 ticket GA tickets.

Ian Riccaboni says he’ll be part of the English voiceovers for the CMLL Aniversario show, which will be on HonorClub. It’s going up late this week or early next week.

Nicho defeated Pagano in the main event of the AAA/EMW show in Tijuana this weekend. For whatever reason, they handed out the Tijuana 2018 awards during this end of September show.

  • Luchador: Bestia 666
  • Tecnico: Black Destiny
  • Rudo: Black Danger
  • Revelation: Xperia

  • Match: Arkangel Divino, Genio del Aire, Black Destiny vs Black Danger, Mirage, Ultimo Maldito from 04/20 (the AAA TV one)

Herodes Jr. was mocking younger wrestlers who say they’re doing Strong Style by doing Canadian Destroyers last night. In response, Crazy Boy mentioned that he bans anyone in his DTU Alto Impacto matches from doing Canadian Destroyer, backcrackers, or anything similar.

RIOT 420 on 11/02 Arena LLF

Asterisco Jr. took Corazon de Barrio’s hair in Reynosa on Sunday.

An interview with Merida’s Panther Boy Jr., who is not actually related to Panther Boy. His parents were fans of wrestling but not fans of him wrestling.

LuchaWorld has this week’s Poster-Mania.

Lineups

CMLL (TUE) 10/01/2019 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Fugaz, Johnny Dinamo, Principe Daniel vs Exterminador, Maléfico, Ráfaga
2) Explosivo, Magia Blanca, Robin vs Akuma, Difunto, Espanto Jr.
3) Átomo, Gallito, Microman vs Chamuel, Guapito, Perico Zacarías
4) Blue Panther, Flyer, Stuka Jr. vs Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto
5) Místico, Valiente, Volador Jr. vs Cavernario, Cuatrero, Sansón

The Tuesday lineup didn’t come out until Monday. Guadalajara seems to want to use their own posters, or maybe there’s confusion over who’s doing the posters in general and so they’re coming out late? It’s strange. The main event was heading towards another Volador/Cavernario match last week.

This show is called MexaFest. It just seems like a lot of tag matches. IT should be fine.

Soberano & Templario will have two singles matches in three days, though the Sunday one is technically the bigger one. (They’ll also be airing about 9 days apart.)

CMLL (SUN) 10/06/2019 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Baron Blanco Jr. & El Alteño vs Carlo Roggi & Fúnebre
2) El Divino, Fantástico, Mágico vs Demonio Maya, Demonio Rojo, Paymon
3) Luminoso, Mr. Samurai, Vaquero Jr. vs Frezzer, Mr. Trueno, Rey Trueno
4) Explosivo, Gallo, Hijo del Solar vs Exterminador, Maléfico, Ráfaga

Two straight weeks of Satanico main events makes me wonder if Satanico is the guy in charge here now. Or someone who is a fan of his.
