That seems more like Rush being Rush rather than anything for sure setting up a match. Not a lot else going on here.
Flyer seemed more likely to get the lightning match win due to his family connection, something Rey Cometa played off of in his victorious promo.

great match
The main event sounds like something worth tracking down, but mostly there wasn’t much to talk about this night so I’m including more results.
The two New York City lucha libre shows drew well for the area. The show headlined by Sam Adonis/LA Park (with Laredo Kid/Extreme Tiger vs Gringo Loco/Brandon Kirk) sounds like it had slightly more people, maybe around 400, then the El Hijo del Santo show. No Alberto at that Santo show. It is probably not a great sign that the NYC casual fan audience that will go out and see lucha libre just to see some lucha libre tops out at maybe 800 and AAA is running MSG there. Double it for the holiday or triple it for promotion, and it’s still not going to a promising number. AAA has so much work to do.
Nacion Lucha Libre says their next show is 07/27 in Fresnillo, Zacetecas. No building or card. It doesn’t appear they’ve advertised it locally, judging from Facebook posts from the area being surprised about this announcement.
The AAA TV show with Laredo Kid vs Hijo del Vikingo finally made it’s way to YouTube today. It probably isn’t effective to have matches turn up on YouTube over a month after they air but YouTube isn’t pulling the cart right now.
Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. announced he’s going to NOAH soon. NOAH’s in the middle of one tour right now and the next is a 08/18 to 09/16 N1 heavyweight singles league. I’d guess he’ll be part of that. I’m not sure he’s ready to impress in something like that, but it’ll be good for his own personal experience.
I can’t really explain this RIOT parody bit easily but it is weird enough to link to anyway.
