IWRG (THU) 06/06/2019 Arena Naucalpan [+LuchaTV, The Gladiatores]
1) Atomic Star & Puma de Oro b Auzter & Sherkan
2) Fulgor I, Fulgor II, Séptimo Rayo b Eragón, Mr. Leo, Príncipe Aéreo
3) Mike b Ovett, Toto
Toto replaced Chico Che.
4) Demonio Infernal, Eterno, Lunatic Extreme b Aramis, Imposible, Metaleón
5) Dragón Bane b Fly Warrior
6) Hijo de Canis Lupus & Penta 0M DQ Trauma I & Trauma II
I did not see any of this, but it sounded like a good turnout for a Thursday Penta appearance. Dragon Bane/Fly Warrior was said to be great, with the other top matches doing well.
The next few weeks of CMLL shows will be focused on Copa Dinastia. This is a tag team tournament featuring family members teaming together, similar to the one held on FantasticaMania earlier this year. I’m skeptical most of CMLL’s audience subscribes to NJPW World for a month to watch those shows, and this will probably be a fresh concept to most of the people watching.
CMLL tournaments vary wildly in quality based on how seriously CMLL and the luchadors take them. The recent Puebla incredible partners tournament was terrible because the people involved generally didn’t care and the matches didn’t get much time. Luchadors may care more tonight because it is a Friday night show and the matches might get more time because there’s only three a night instead of seven but it is tough to tell before it starts. The teams in this group aren’t sure bets either. Soberano & Euforia sounds a lot of fun, but Soberano was wrestling in France as late as yesterday. He’s going to have some jetlag to battle, assume all his travel goes well enough to get here. Negro Casas & Felino should do fine but Felino’s a long shot to advance in any tournament. Rush & Bestia del Ring and Flyer & Volador Jr. each have one guy who isn’t much good and one guy who can mail in matches if they’re not engaged. If they do care, these can be a fun set of matches. That seems like a risky bet.
Cavernario versus Templario in a lightning match seems a safe bet. Cavernario is the best luchador in CMLL at the moment and Templario is a guy who works very hard in his matches. They’re going to try and impress.
The rest of the show has general tag matches. Gilbert el Boricua makes his Friday return, teaming with Gran Guerrero & Ultimo Guerrero against Angel de Oro, Niebla Roja, and Caristico. The Guerreros are in next block’s Copa Dinastia and Angel de Oro & Niebla Roja may be as well. Audaz, Stuka, and Valiente face Ephesto, Mephisto, Rey Bucanero in the tercera. The Panther Family team up to face Virus, Kawato San and Disturbio, which should confirm if Kawato San versus Black Panther is an ongoing feud. Electrico & Oro Jr. take on Coyote & Grako in the opener.
This show starts at 8:30. It will air on Marca and their YouTube channel. I’ll stream it as well.
Lucha Central has a preview of the show.
Gilbert el Boricua wants to stay in CMLL and face Diamante Azul, Ultimo Guerrero, and Rush.
Ultimo Guerrero faces Aigle Blanc (Aguila Blanca) in France’s APC promotion on July 7th.
RIOT’s La Riña En El Cerro de La Silla (08/23 & 08/24) participants:
- 08/23 non-tournament match: UnMexicans (Byron & Kaientai) vs El Cartel de los Culichis (Mr. Iguana & Fresero Jr.)
Lucha Memes announced they plan on running shows for June (Mexico State), July (Queretaro & Mexico City) and August (Arean San Juan & Arena Puebla, teased as a Generacion XXI co-promoted). There was some thought Lucha Memes might rage quit over the PALL situation and this Tweet seemed to exist to assure people they’d be around and they still have friends. The Puebla announcement vaguely alludes to the PALL situation.
Draztick Boy says he’s in Dragon Gate for a month and a half.
Hijo del Octagon mentioned that he’s out of action with a meniscus injury. (SuperLuchas pointed this out.)
LuchaWorld has the latest Lucha Report.
Rush vs LA Park takes place in Tijuana on June 22. This is Baja Promociones. Third promotions (not The Crash or EMW) have had trouble sticking around in Auditorio de Tijuana of late.
Puma King is back with a new video, visits a museum with Barby, Daga, and Tessa.
Lineup
IWRG (SUN) 06/09/2019 Arena Naucalpan
1) Auzter vs Neza Kid
2) Jessy Ventura, Lilith Dark, Príncipe Aéreo vs Avisman, Lady Flammer, Shil-Kah
3) Alas de Acero, Black Dragón, Iron Kid vs Fulgor I, Fulgor II, Torito Negro
4) Hijo del Alebrije vs Metaleón, Relámpago, Demonio Infernal, El Hijo del Medico Asesino, Aramis, Trauma I, Ovett, Imposible, Lunatic Extreme, Trauma II, Chico Che, Fly Warrior, Sinn Bodhi, Zumbi, Internacional Pantera [MEXICO CHAMP]
This is a new belt in the main event. Black Terry did an interview on the IWRG show last night showing the new belt, which is a plain looking green thing. I did not listen to the interview so I do not understand why it exists.
CMLL (MON) 06/10/2019 Arena Puebla
1) Meyer, Millenium, Tigre Rojo Jr. vs Black Tiger, Centella Roja, Fuerza Chicana
2) Arkalis, King Jaguar, Pegasso vs Corsario De Fuego, El Malayo, El Perverso
3) Esfinge, Fuego, Tritón vs Felino, Misterioso Jr., Tiger
4) Cuatrero, Forastero, Sansón vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Templario
5) Ángel de Oro, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero vs Máscara Año 2000, Rey Bucanero, Terrible [Relevos Increíbles]
The main event continues Terrible/Ultimo Guerrero. Semi-main looks new.
The only Corsario de Fuego I know if a luchador from Xalapa. Making the move to Puebla would be odd, but that is exactly what Rey Apocalipsis did long ago.
CMLL (TUE) 06/11/2019 Arena México
1) Angelito & Kaligua vs Pequeño Olímpico & Pequeño Violencia
2) Oro Jr., Robin, Súper Astro Jr. vs Cancerbero, Espíritu Negro, Raziel
3) Drone vs Virus [lightning]
4) La Jarochita, Marcela, Sanely vs Dalys, Reyna Isis, Tiffany
5) Atlantis, El Audaz, Kráneo vs Ephesto, Hechicero, Mephisto
6) Diamante Azul, Stuka Jr., Titán vs Forastero, La Bestia Del Ring, Terrible
Virus is going to make Drone look sillier than Drone looks on his own. The women’s match in the four spot is unusual. Last week’s main event suggested a trios title match but now it looks like Forastero has a solo feud with Diamante Azul.
CMLL (TUE) 06/11/2019 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Black Sugar, Principe Daniel, Tigre Blanco vs Capitán Cobra, El Chakal, León Blanco
2) Avispa Dorada, La Guerrera, Lluvia vs Amapola, La Seductora, Metálica
3) Flyer, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa vs Pólvora, Universo 2000 Jr., Vangellys
4) Ángel de Oro, Místico, Niebla Roja vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
5) Carístico, Cavernario, Volador Jr. vs Gran Guerrero, Rush, Último Guerrero [Relevos Increíbles]
This still looks like Caristico/Rush next week.
AAA , ROSALES (THU) 07/04/2019 Arena Naucalpan
1) Bee Bop & La Parkita vs Máscarita Negra & Parkita Negra
2) Raptor vs Máscara de Bronce, Lunatik Fly, Cobre
3) Big Mami & Niño Hamburguesa vs King Balam & Lady Maravilla
4) Hijo Del Vikingo, Joe Lider, Myzteziz Jr. vs Carta Brava Jr., Mocho Cota Jr., Tito Santana
5) Psycho Clown vs Pentagón Jr. vs Pagano [sin reglas]
The local promoter waited to announce this card until after last night’s Pentagon card was finished. Not sure if that was being nice or just required. It also is a public demonstration that the building is still open to non-PALL promoters (though obviously, they’re getting the priority.) No one cares about any of this, everyone just wants to know if “Bee Bop” is music themed or Ninja Turtle themed.

Bee Bop could be Barney the dinosaur related as well.
I wish CMLL would retire some of their older wrestlers or those that offer very little in match quality. Offer them a good payoff. I hardly ever watch AAA, but they’re clearly looking at the younger talent to boost their ranks. Whether AAA uses them wisely to create a better product is debatable.
I see legends like Canek, Mascara Año 2000, and others give bad performances, and I wish they’d just get a great sendoff, and stop tarnishing their legacy.
Who in CMLL do you see as those that should just hang up their tights, Cubsfan?
