  1. Carístico Torito (2:31)

  2. Último Guerrero Guerrero Special (1:45)

  3. La Mistica (6:29)

What happened:

Nothing really. Caristico beat UG on Kid’s Day and that’s it.

Thoughts:

Sanson power

The main event fit the rest of the show, a simple match – with less near endings than a Friday version – that worked well with the more casual Kid’s Day Crowd. Both these guys know how to get over with that sort of crowd. It’s not something must see to watch later but wasn’t meant to be.

The overall semi-main wasn’t as good as even the names might indicate. Stuka and Atlantis didn’t mesh well with NGD in this match. Atlantis was just as limited as always, but Stuka and NGD seemed to be on different pages on sequences that ended with people looking at each other. Parts of this would’ve got booed on many Fridays. Soberano was really good, the third fall was heavy with Soberano doing things, so it is the one fall that saved this for me.

Raziel doing a thing

Standard Panther stuff out of their match, the Hijo del Infiernos happened to be the opposition for their topes and submissions. This was kept simple by Panther standards, which worked for the Kid’s Day crowd. The first fall ending, with Luciferno rushing in to break up Blue Panther Jr.’s finishing hold, then freezing two feet away because Blue Panther Sr. had gotten in the wrong but just stood there instead of breaking it up, was a bit embarrassing. Luciferno sprinted across the ring at the end of the second ring to make sure he’d have someone to hit.

The tercera was a solid professional match in front of a crowd that was willing to cheer it. Nothing you haven’t seen prior but solid. Raziel & Cancerbero were really effective because they were actually trying.

I hope it’s not a situation where the bloom is off the rose of the micros entirely and they’re just either having a bad spell or not caring on Tuesday mode, because this was another one that wasn’t much special. The big Microman headscissors off the electronic sign was the highlight, but there was much that wasn’t good – including the header in the finish – and a lot that was just boring. The best parts of these matches have been Microman and Chamuel working together. They just didn’t work together much (and had a bad headscissors when they did.) Mije played the comedy better than Guapito did here.

Euforia replaced Rush earlier in the day. Tecnicos took 2/3.

Nothing notable on this one. Metalico is teasing a tecnico turn in promos, which may explain the strange match on Sunday. Misterioso was thrilled with his bullying. Caristico talked about CMLL Informa and Angel de Oro & Niebla Roja invited all the moms to the show on Friday.

Nothing much here either. Arena Coliseo Guadalajara mentions Silueta was replacing Lluvia but said nothing Volador missing the show.

AAA posted their 05/18 and 05/19 TV lineups. La Mascara is still listed as part of AAA’s policy to never update posters.

Fenix is being advertised for the 07/03 AAA TV taping in San Luis Potosi. It is notable whenever the AAA Heavyweight Champion is listed for an AAA show, but advertisements this far out are also subject to change.

Tiffany wants a hair versus mask match with Lluvia. I do not want a Tiffany hair vs Lluvia mask match. I do not have a vote. Tiffany’s moving onto Lluvia because she doesn’t think Sexy Dulce to show up in Arena Mexico for a match.

The one thing Tiger got to accomplish this year was winning an incredible partners tournament in Arena Puebla with Diamante Azul. He still gets to count that win, but now it’s the secondary incredible partners tournament. CMLL doesn’t usually run two of these in a venue a year and I wonder if whoever is in charge now wasn’t really paying attention to Puebla until they took over. Or maybe they just spin a wheel.

These teams aren’t particularly interesting and a lot of short low effort matches sounds like a not great Puebla show. The poster makes it clear this is block one, so more next week.

The usual weird DragonMania show with an odd assembly of people. Also Rugido gets to live his Arena Mexico dream. If that’s Corsario Negro Jr., it would be his return from knee injury.

(7:35 [3:12, 4:23], 1/2, ok,

What happened:

just watch Hechicero

Volador beat Carístico with a mask pull, setting up a singles match. The post-match back and forth nearly went as long as the match.

Diamante Azul made a surprise return from injury.

Skadi (Marcela) and Tyson la Bestia (Marcela) were the seconds for the women’s title match.

Thoughts:

Volador spent most of the match smiling about the evil things he was doing to Carístico. I think he is really happier being a rudo but he was also not at all taking this seriously and wasn’t really bothered about it. He put more effort into putting up “2” for the two fall win after the match. This was about as good as most feud building matches.

It is possible to have a good match with a lot of people working here and one Atlantis not doing much. It does not appear possible to have a good match with two Atlantis’ not doing much and Diamante Azul might as well have been Atlantis. They really just have borrowed King Jaguar from the cemita stand and sent him back out here because Diamante Azul did almost nothing and actually nothing right. Diamante Azul and Gran Guerrero getting lost in the third fall provided some entertainment value but I’m not sure that’s the way you want to do it. Soberano looked great and was in the wrong match.

Metalica was disappointing. Maybe my hope for something new. She didn’t bring much to the table that isn’t seen in normal trios matches. She also had moments of looking tentative of off – the bear hug spot was not good. The top spot was weird, with Metalica not really coming close to hitting Marcela, taking out Skadi. This was more a lengthy Marcela exhibition, Metalica handled that fine, probably better than most of the rudas would’ve done in that spot, but she didn’t show anything would be promising on her own. The match was fine but not hopeful.

never fun
