UG keeps heavyweight champion, Negro Casas returns tonight

I’ve tried to get away from posting finishes to avoid spoiling matches for people but can you really spoil Ultimo Guerrero versus Vangellys?

UG took 2/3 despite Tirantes (and despite last week’s promo being specifically about how Tirantes would not referee this match.) Second defense.

This show sounds like it was worse than usual. That is a low bar to limbo under, but the trend of the CMLL B-shows has been gradually downhill.

Today’s Arena Mexico show is scheduled to be Negro Casas’ first match since November. He’s been out after surgery. Casas was originally scheduled to return this weekend in Neza but appeared to say he was not cleared, so this is a bit of a question mark. CMLL did send out a preview last night built around Negro Casas appearing. On the other hand, they never took Super Astro Jr. out of last night’s lineup. Casas is scheduled to team with Ephesto & Mephisto against Mistico, Soberano, and Titan.

The rest of Tuesday’s card is a tiny bit better than usual, though nothing looks like a safe bet. Atlantis, Stuka, and Flyer (called Real Flyer on the preview?) face Felino, Hechicero, and Templario. Blue Panther takes on fellow Laugnero Lucifierno in the lightning match. The third match is now Black Panther, Guerrero Maya and Audaz against Polvora, Universo 2000 Jr. and Hijo del Signo, replacing Okumura. Okumura is out after getting his appendix removed in emergency surgery over the weekend. A women’s match and a minis match opens the show. It streams at 7:30 pm on YouTube.

Guadalajara has Volador versus Barbaro Cavernario, which is usually pretty good.

The Crash in Tijuana on 03/23

Zorro is officially on the 03/24 Kaoz promotion, so he and the promotion have gone from working closely together to sending legal notices to each other to working closely together in about a half year. Everyone is silly.

Segunda Caida watched the 02/16 WWCI/XMW show.

Dave the Clown wants a match with Cody, does not understand why La Parka never accepted his mask versus mask challenge.

6) Diamante Azul & Valiente © vs Gran Guerrero & Último Guerrero [CMLL TAG]
second defense

I would be happy if the Guerreros won the meaningless tag titles but that seems far from certain. This seems a bit better than usual for a Sunday show.

IWRG (SUN) 03/10/2019 Arena Naucalpan
1) Brazo De Oro Jr. & Puma de Oro vs Auzter & Canival
2) Lilith Dark vs Ludark Shaitan

This will be an eight-team tournament and the winning team moves on to face Heddi Karaoui & Death Metal for the vacant titles.

Sanchez , Invasion Indy (FRI) 03/15/2019 Arena Neza
1) Hantar, Kronoz, Savage vs Capricornio, Karma I, Karma II

5) Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Juventud Guerrera vs Flamita & Golden Magic
6) Penta Zero M & Rey Fénix (Indie) vs Hijo de LA Park & Volador Jr.

Penta & Fenix are still in Mexico City next Friday and Volador’s working both H2L and this show, so none of those are the reasons why they got pulled.

CMLL (SAT) 03/23/2019 Arena Rey Bucanero, Ecatepec, Estado de México
1) Rashata & Shirka vs Aero Panter & Fly Panther
2) Demonio Infernal vs Sonic vs Fireman [Copa Ambicion de Poder]
3) Bárbaro Cavernario vs Titán
4) Blue Panther vs Virus
5) Tiger vs Rey Cometa
6) Místico & Volador Jr. vs Euforia & Gran Guerrero

This Arena Rey Bucanero show is better than most of the Arena Mexico shows this year. It probably won’t be worked as hard as one but still hope it somehow turns up.
