IWRG (Consejo?), Puebla preview

should’ve mocked raising the roof

IWRG (SUN) 12/02/2018 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (Flickr)The Gladiatores]
1) Death Metal & Hijo De Blue Monsther b Arquero & Mexica
2) Ra-Zhata & Shil-Kah b Black Dragón & Dinamic Black
3) Diosa Atenea, Multifacético 2.0, Pasion Kristal b Ludark Shaitan, Soy Raymunda, Tackle
4) Demonio Infernal, Eterno, Lunatic Extreme b Eragón, Hijo del Alebrije, Relámpago
5) Black Terry, Dr. Cerebro, Imposible, Ovett, Toscano, Último Gladiador b Dowki, Hip Hop Man, Karaoui, Mosca (Argentina), Musashi, Zumbi [Copa Higher Power]
Imposible got the win, beating Karaoui & Hip Hop Man for the win.
6) Aramis L FreelanceAlas de Acero [seconds hair]
Referees were assigned as seconds by blind draw, with Adonis Salazar appearing as the referee for this match. Capu was with Freelance, Chiquillin with Alas de Acero, Reyes Rosas with Aramis. Freelance won first, then Alas de Acero beat Aramis to cose Reyes Rosas hair.
7) Capo del Norte, Capo del Sur, Máscara Año 2000 Jr. DQ Rokambole Jr., Villano IV, Villano V Jr.
Toscano got involved to attack Mascara 2000 Jr. (upset about Consejo breaking up & wants a hair match?!?), only that annoyed the Villanos since they were DQed in the process.

Toscano has held a grudge since about 2013. I mean, I personally appreciate holding grudges for half a decade but I wouldn’t look for IWRG to settle them. I would look to IWRG hoping to get a hair payday if they’re giving them to referees off two week builds.

CMLL doesn’t run many 2v2 matches outside of openers, so it’s notable tonight’s Arena Puebla show has Rush & Terrible versus Diamante Azul & Volador Junior. This would make sense if Rush & Terrible were still tag team champions, or Diamante Azul was teaming with fellow new champion Valiente instead of Volador. Valiente is booked, but in the semi-main instead. Maybe they’re setting up another title match, possibly they’re killing time for another week.

Stigma, Titan, and Triton take on Kawato, Okumura, and Tiger in the tercera, the best chance for a good match on this show. (The main event sounds possibly good but Rush’s efforts in Puebla have not been strong.) Cavernario, Felino and Rey Bucanero take on Atlantis, Soberano, and Valiente in the semi-main. The first two matches heavy on locals and Espanto. Puebla, like most of CMLL, could use some new and interesting rudos.

The Puebla show will air at 9 pm on CMLL’s YouTube channel.

There are Mexican wrestlers popping up on other TV shows this weekend. Guerrero Maya & Stuka challenging for the ROH tag team titles aired this weekend on ROH TV and will stream on Fite.TV tonight. Global Wrestling Network (Impact) has an episode of Xplosion with Dragon Bane, Starfire, and Aramis versus Arez, Latigo and Chik Tormenta. That was taped way back on the Mexico City taping and I had given up on it every airing. They have another trios match in the can, which might air next week. Xplosion episodes were free previously, are asking to register when trying to watch them today, but they have a 30 days free trial anyway.

KDNA (Monterrey) says their 12/30 show will be taped for TV. They’ve said previous shows will be taped for TV which turned out to be, so maybe just put that one in pencil. The firm upcoming shows (next Saturday in Xalapa, Christmas in Cuautitlan) would bring AAA to 32 regular tapings this year, plus the eight additional Lucha Capital shows. Last year had 28 tapings.

Segunda Caida likes Demus enough to watch a lucha cage match.
