6) Atlantis, Kráneo, Mistico b Ephesto, Máscara Año 2000, Mephisto
Ephesto replaced Rey Bucanero (CHIKARA). Tecnicos took 2/3.

Sangre Azteca talked about his win here and in Argentina. I would guess Argentina would be the more exciting of the two.

Rey Bucanero & his pirate friends (Jean-Pierre Lafitte & Katarina Leigh) defeated Merlok, Hermit Crab and Cajun Crawdad in the first round of the King of the Trios, then lost in the second round to Mick Moretti, Adam Hoffman and Jack Bonza.

CMLL (SUN) 09/02/2018 Arena México [CMLL, CMLL]

2) Pegasso, Star Jr., Stigma b Hijo del Signo, Metálico, Nitro

tecnicos took 2/3.
6) Carístico, Diamante Azul, Mistico b Cavernario, Euforia, Gran Guerrero
tecnicos took 2/3.

Quite a variety of finishes. There’s a brief Mephisto promo.

CMLL is now doing series on hair matches at the Anniversario (part 1, part 2), Cavernario wins, and Matt Taven wins. Adam Cole getting namedropped by CMLL is weird.

Today’s Puebla has an odd family tag team tournament. Mistico & Rush, Gran Guerrero & Ultimo Guerrero, Cuatrero & Sanson and Flyer & Volador (the only uncle/nephew team) are in a four tag team tournament. CMLL used to run four team tournaments all the time last decade and less so this year. These are one fall matches. They tend to be on the quick side, but it’s not a long show. They can go long if they want, but it’s also Monday night in Puebla so they might not. Rush & Mistico and the Guerreros are the most likely favorites, as Rush has been cheating to beat Ultimo Guerrero lately in this building.

The semimain has the debut of Volcano – the spelling on the poster is different than what they started with – teaming with Gorillas del Ring partner Kraneo and also Stuka Jr. against Ephesto, Luciferno and Mephisto. The guess is Volcano is the former Warrior Steel Jr., and we’ll know for sure by the end of that match. The second match has Audaz, Fuego and Stigma against Virus, Disturbio and Cancerbero. Arkalis, Black Tiger and Tigre Rojo open against Policeman, Rey Apocalipsis and the returning Toro Bill Jr. It’s a small card but it’s a decent lineup.

The show will air at 9pm on CMLL’s YouTube

AAA TV (SUN) 09/02/2018 Arena Jose Sulaiman, Monterrey, Nuevo León [AAALucha Central]
1) Draztick Boy b ArezBelialÚltimo Maldito  (posted by Lucha Libre AAA (Twitch))
Faby Apache b Lady Shani  (posted by Lucha Libre AAA (Twitch))
Taurus helped Faby get a win back.
3) Carta Brava Jr., Mocho Cota Jr., Tito Santana b Hijo de LA Park, Hijo Del Vikingo, Joe Lider  (posted by Lucha Libre AAA (Twitch))
Hijo del Vikingo replaced Laredo Kid (death in family). Vikingo and Lider did not get along.
4) Rey Escorpión & Texano Jr. © b Mamba & Máximo and Aerostar & Drago and Jack Evans & Teddy Hart [AAA TAG (posted by Lucha Libre AAA (Twitch))
5th defense. AAA made clear that Bandido & Flamita still have the right for a title shot when they want (but also they’re not putting the title on pause until they get it)
5) Jeff Jarrett, Killer Kross, Taurus b Dr. Wagner Jr., La Parka, Murder Clown [no DQ]  (posted by Lucha Libre AAA (Twitch))
Wagner wore a Parka outfit. Both he and Jarrett bled. Taurus replaced Cage (US booking). Jarrett got in a foul on Wagner, though the match was no DQ anyway.
6) Hijo del Fantasma b Psycho ClownLA Park  (posted by Lucha Libre AAA (Twitch))
Fantasma got the win over LA Park.

+LuchaTV Post-show interviews: Hijo del Fantasma, Dr. Wagner Jr., and Rey Escorpion & Texano.

Have not seen this one yet, but it sounded like it may have been a skippable show, with a priority of getting the TripleMania losers a win. Faby doesn’t appear to be going anywhere at the moment.

It seems like AAA is setting up Jarrett/Wagner in a hair match, with Wagner getting a big win before facing LA Park next year. It’s Jarrett & AAA so who knows if they’ll get there. Next taping is Friday, starting about a half hour after CMLL’s show that night.

Oscuridad/Super Laredo passed away on Sunday. He was a Nuevo Laredo luchador who appeared on AAA TV a couple times in 2005 and 2006, and is Laredo Kid’s older brother.

Fenix & Penta weren’t on the AAA shows, but were out in Chicago for a busy weekend. Penta lost to Kenny Omega, and Rey Mysterio, Bandido, and Fenix were defeated by the Young Bucks and Kota Ibushi on the All In show on Saturday night. Both matches were great live in totally different ways. The main event was obviously cut down and rushed at the end, and it was still great. This was the Young Bucks (& Cody’s show), with the fans there to see them primarily, and yet they still gave the Mexican team a lot of the match and the highlights after it was cut down. Rey Mysterio Jr. finished up his indie bookings – maybe for now, maybe forever? – the next night. Fenix & Penta are already made men. Bandido did as well as he possibly could given the occasion and we’ll see where it take shim.

IWRG (SUN) 09/02/2018 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatoers]
1) Ángel Estrella Jr. b Hijo Del Bombero Infernal
Hijo del Bombero Infernal replaced Atomic Star
2) Black Shadow II & Mexica b Death Metal & Lunatik Extreme
3) Ra-Zhata, Shil-Ka, Teelo b Chico Che, Demonio Infernal, Diablo Jr.
Chico Che betrayed his partners.
4) Fly Warrior, Séptimo Rayo, Violencia Jr. b Ciclón Ramírez, Metaleón, Multifacetico 2.0
5) Dragón Bane b Aramis © [IWRG REY DEL AIRE]
said to be one of the best matches of the year. Bane used a masked pull to beat Aramis and become champion.
6) El Hijo del Medico Asesino, Eterno, Último Gladiador b Emperador Azteca, Hijo de Canis Lupus, Mr. Electro
Eterno replaced Trauma I. Electro bled, and was pinned by Medico to build to a heavyweight title match.

Semimain sounds like worth checking out when it turns up in full.

Some of Rey Mysterio’s will be part of the Expo Museo Lucha Libre in Mexico City on CMLL Anniversario weekend.

Filder unmasked King Star Tiger in Arena Lopez Mateos. King Star Tiger is Hector Soberano Malagon, 39, 20 years a wrestler.

Thunder Storm took Baby Star’s hair in Arena San Juan.

LuchaWorld has the latest news update.
