CMLL (TUE) 06/19/2018 Arena México [CMLL, ESTO, Lucha Central, Ovaciones]
1) Mercurio & Pequeño Nitro b Angelito & Fantasy
2) Hijo del Signo, Metálico, Sangre Azteca b Bengala, Leono, Príncipe Diamante
Rudos took 1/3.
3) Disturbio, Espanto Jr., Virus b Astral, Eléctrico, Star Jr.
rudos took 2/3.
4) Esfinge, Titán, Tritón b Kawato, Okumura, Templario
tecnicos took 2/3.
5) Dragón Lee, Soberano Jr., Stuka Jr. b Ephesto, Mephisto, Shocker
tecnicos took 1/3.
6) Atlantis b Rey Bucanero [MEX LH]
Atlantis took falls 1/3 for his fifth 5th defense
Atlantis & Bucanero tried their best to make it not a bad match and so it wasn’t a bad match. I’m not sure it was a good match by any measure except for the low expectations we had fo rit, but probably it was good enough for CMLL to keep justifying doing more Atlantis singles matches.
Post-match promos: Titan (hyping his Soberano match and his recent rudo antics), Oneatos Style (Esfinge & Triton want to make sure Titan is still with them), Soberano (ready for Titan), and Atlantis. There’s also media interviews with Rey Bucanero (felt he should’ve cheated more) and Atlantis. Because CMLL can’t just do tecnico/tecnico feuds, they’re playing up heavy the idea that Titan’s rudo antics against Soberano could be the prelude to a permanent change of sides.
CMLL (TUE) 06/19/2018 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [CMLL]
1) Guerrero Samurai Jr., Luminoso, Tigre Blanco b Guerrero de la Muerte, Mr. Trueno, Rey Trueno
2) La Comandante, Metálica, Tiffany b La Vaquerita, Maligna, Princesa Sugehit
Rudas took 2/3.
3) Misterioso Jr., Sagrado, Warrior Steel b Audaz, Fuego, Pegasso
Rudos took 2/3.
4) Cuatrero, Felino, Negro Casas b Blue Panther, Flyer, Guerrero Maya Jr.
Rudos took 1/3.
5) Kráneo, Valiente, Volador Jr. b Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Mr. Niebla
tecnicos took 1/3
Doesn’t seem like there’s any new feuds. Warrior Steel is rarely seen. He’s a rookie by CMLL standards but it seems like they think he’s too large to wrestle in openers, so there’s not a spot for him. It could’ve been that match spot was intended to be Arkangel at one point.
Dragon Lee declared war on Caristico. He’s also declared war on Hiromu Takahashi, Penta el 0M, El Desperado and SHO. He may actually wrestle some of those people.
Daniel Aceves posted photos of him at CMLL’s offices yesterday. He mentioned a new project coming up. He’s usually part of the Copa Bobby Bonales, which honors his father.
DTU (TUE) 06/19/2018 Arena Aficion
1) Josh Sniper b Zarcot, Corazón Latino, Destino, Dayami
2) Aaron Sykes, Helio Guerra, Muerte Infernal vs Black Fire, Paranoiko, Pesadilla and Devitt Rodríguez, Hard Boy, Luigi
3) Drolux & El Exótico b Billy & Hermes
4) Jimmy b Aeroboy, Kaleth, Crazy King
Jimmy challenged Aeroboy to a title match.
5) Draztick Boy b Low Rider, Dinastía
billed as Draztick Boy’s farewell to DTU.
6) Cíclope b Miedo Extremo
The main event was a death match rematch, but maybe the semi-main is the most interesting. I don’t see anyone saying Draztick Boy is headed to AAA full time but that seems to be the idea.
Lucha Underground episode 4×2, “Darkness and the Monster” air tonight. Matches announced
- Pentagon Dark (c) vs Matanza Cueto for the Lucha Underground Championship
- a match for an Aztec Medallion
- The Mack, Killshot, and
Dante FoxSon of Havoc (c) vs ?, ??, ??? for the Lucha Underground Trios championship.
If you were paying super close attention during the trailer, you can figure out how who’s getting the trios title shot. Famous B & Brenda appear to be involved. Dragon Azteca and Drago are both teased as appearing, which makes that the likely Aztec Medallion match. Catrina is also busy looking for the gauntlet, which pairs nicely with the really good King Cuerno promo late last week.
July 4th, US Independence Day, is a Wednesday this year. That’s pretty terrible from a holiday perspective, what are you doing with a day off in the middle of the week. It’s also not so great from a TV perspective, since it’s usually one of the least watched days of the year. I don’t know if LU will air a new episode that week. Hope they don’t.
At the San Diego ceremony honoring Rey Mysterio, he said he had an offer of a 3 year deal from WWE. Three years seems like the standard WWE term, and Mysterio hinted before that he wanted some non-standard parts about how many dates he’d be working, so that might not end deal. It does seem more likely than not that he’ll be back in WWE eventually.
AAA held a Q&A on Facebook. Most of the questions were “when are you coming back to [X]?”. The answer is soon. Of note,
- The Poker de Ases match is no longer a cage match because the wrestlers asked for that change. They’re the true heroes.
- Konnan will address his status in a video soon. A fan asked if they’d have a Vampiro/Konnan “winner is booker, loser retires for reals” match and they thought it was a good idea. I don’t think that means it’s actually happening.
- Someone asked if Faby would actually get her head shaved this time if she lost the hair match and AAA said yes. I don’t think that’s going to be an issue.
- The Zona Ruda show quietly disappeared from being posted on YouTube and AAA says it’ll only be on TDN for the time being. Perhaps it has something to do with the TV situation.
- Guadalajara was said not be getting a TV taping until next year. They haven’t taped TV in Guadalajara since that disastrous Rey de Reyes show (though they are still running a match at a theme park every weekend.)
Rush says LA Park is not going to lose his mask at TripleMania.
LuchaWorld has the latest news update.

2) Cosmos & Johnny Dinamo vs Destructor & Quca
3) Fugaz, Neutrón, Reycko vs Gran Kenut, León Blanco, Linterna
4) Bobby Black, Carlo Roggi, El Chakal, Mr. Apolo vs Exterminador, Príncipe Kisho, Terremoto King Jr., Thunder Boy
5) Joker vs Sádico [hair]
Joker and Sadico were rudo friends until they weren’t, and they’re settling it here.
CMLL (MON) 06/25/2018 Arena Puebla
1) Meyer, Millenium, Tigre Rojo Jr. vs Espíritu Maligno, King Jaguar, King Rocker
2) Astro, Asturiano, Stukita vs Joker, Mercurio, Saurón
3) Princesa Sugehit vs Amapola [lightning]
4) Black Panther, Blue Panther Jr., Esfinge vs Felino, Puma, Tiger
5) Soberano Jr. © vs Titán [MEX WELTER]
4th defense
6) Flyer & Volador Jr. vs Templario & Último Guerrero
A bigger than usual card, with both the Gran Alternativa rematch and a tecnico title match. The “Black Panther” name seems to have stuck, which is no doubt going to confuse future generations. Sugehit/Amapola are headed to a title match on 07/04. The second match may be one of those situations where a feud is being set up in the cards (Asturiano/Sauron?) but no one’s bothered to tell the people involved.
The Crash (SAT) 06/30/2018 Palenque de Tlaxcala, Tlaxcala, Tlaxcala
1) ? vs ??
2) Hantar, Kronoz, Savage vs Capricornio, Karma I, Karma II
3) Torito Negro © vs Tiago, Toxin (Estado de México) [The Crash JUNIOR]
first defense
4) Lacey Lane © vs Lady Flammer, Keyra, Zeuxis [The Crash WOMEN]
second defense
5) Daga vs Rey Horus, Bestia 666
6) Penta Zero M & The King vs Garza Jr. & Mr. 450 and Pierroth & Rush [cage]
We don’t have a July date for the next Tijuana show but we do know there is a next show. Zeuxis makes her Crash debut, on the same card where Pierroth & Rush are working without having left CMLL. Notable that Toxin’s still here after appearing in AAA. Lucha libre is confusing.
