Team Volador took 1/3, the last when UG fouled Volador. Terrible challenged for a rematch next week.

The title match was better than the lightning match last week. It’s about the upper limit of what a Dalys title match is going to look like in the current status quo.

The Torneo Nueva Valores, so CMLL Tuesday shows are just back to being a collection of matches oddly labeled as Nuevo Valores. The main event has Caristico, Valiente and Volador, fresh off fighting each other last night, face Euforia, Gran Guerrero and Mephisto. The semimain is an odd semimain with Hechicero, Bestia and Terrible taking on Ephesto, Luciferno and Mascara 2000. There’s no reason for Mephisto to be split from his partners unless they’re setting up the Bestia/Mascara thing again. There could also just be no reason.

The match of the night will likely by the fourth match, with Audaz and Templario on opposite sides of a trios. Templario teams with the Revolucionarios, who probably should be pitching the new rudo star on joining their group. Audaz teams with Guerrero Maya & Rey Cometa. The lightning match should be good, with a first time ever The Panther versus Fuego.

The second match has Magnus, Oro and Principe Diamante against grump rudo trio Cancerbero, Nitro and Raziel. The show, as Tuesdays seem to do all the time, opens with a minis match. This time one has Pequeno Nitro & Olimpico against Angelito and Ultimo Dragonicto

CultIcon previews the show. This feels like a same-ish show as usual, but the middle matches seem worth the time.

CMLL announced Dragon Lee will be out three weeks following his injury on Friday night. CMLL didn’t specific the injury; Dragon Lee says it’s a quadriceps strain. Three weeks would mean maybe Dragon Lee wrestles a match or two in Mexico before heading to Japan for the Best of Super Juniors, but would definitely still be in that competition. The length of recovery from that injury depends on the severity, and no one’s going into detail with that. Three weeks is the time that makes most sense either way. If it’s bad, that’s all the time he can take off while still being ready for Japan. If it’s minor, there’s no sense in him risking a reinjury by wrestling a lot before going on tour.

Atlantis will replace Dragon Lee tonight in Guadalajara. Titan will move up to Lee’s spot on Friday, with Drone taking the empty spot in the opener. CMLL mentioned Diamante Azul will replace Dragon Lee on Sunday, seemingly forgetting they hadn’t actually announced a lineup for Sunday yet.

Mephisto defended the CMLL Welterweight Championship against Chetmual local Hades on Saturday. That match wasn’t advertised on the poster I saw, but they did set it up last month. The main event was switched from Mistico/Volador vs Virus/Caristico to Mistico/Caristico beating Volador/Virus, and the show drew 1,500.

CMLL’s Jose Luis Feliciano went to Costa Rica for a seminar.

Arena Coliseo Guadalajara has a photo of the new Guerrero Samuray Jr., says he’s a godson of the most recent Guerrero Samuray (which sounds like not related.

AAA posted the first part of the Cuernavaca taping. It looks like they’re sticking with the Space shows on YoTube going forward. Just to be clear, there are now three versions of AAA, airing the same matches

  • AAA on Twitch, where the matches air weeks/months before either TV show
  • AAA on Space, which includes vignettes that don’t appear to be shown elsewhere
  • AAA on Televisa, which includes upcoming lineup and NotiAAA segments which aren’t on the other two.

Maybe this is some sort of A/B testing to see what works? Maybe the should run the vignettes as a second show on the Twitch stream if they’re not able to air live? To be fair, there wasn’t important information in the vignettes this week, though it does help build up the characters.

Lucha Memes on 05/13 in Coliseo Coacalco

Lineups

CMLL (SUN) 04/29/2018 Arena México

2) Flyer, Magnus, Star Jr. vs Cancerbero, Disturbio, Raziel

4) Microman vs ChamuelGallitoMijeÁngelZacarias el PericoÁtomoGuapito [cibernetico]
5) Niebla Roja, Stuka Jr., Titán vs Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto
6) Diamante Azul, Mistico, Volador Jr. vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero

Micros on Saturday, Micro on Sunday. They’re hyping it as a busy weekend for the Micros, so I suspect they’ll also be in Puebla on Monday. That’s a first ever micros cibernetico with a debuting Atomo. Or a returning Atomo. There was an Atomo between 2007 to 2009, who we thought might have become Mini Maximo or Zacarias. It’s definitely not Zacarias this time.

  1. I would have thought Audaz was stretchered out because Kawato didn’t catch him in a dive….:D
