Haven’t seen this, but I heard the tournament was fun and Lee/Mephisto was good. Magia Blanca/Flyer is quite the match of guys who came be sometime good but sometimes go off the rails. I think people would be more excited about Magia Blanca being in the final if this was coming after that great January match and not when the last time most people saw him was blowing moves on a Friady show.
Universal final was Volador versus Ultimo Guerrero and this is Volador’s nephew versus a UG trainee.

Cavernario & Negro Casas challenged Volador & Valiente to a tag title match next week.
They’re actually remembering the tag team titles, that’s nice.
Angelico announced he’d parted ways with Lucha Underground. The WON had reported previously that he’d been turned down asking for a release. Angelico had definite WWE interest in the past and would figure to be one of a few now ex-LU people looking for a deal there. I would expect other promotions might come calling, but a deal for NXT seems most likely.
Jack Evans also announced he’s done with Lucha Underground. In the replies, Jack mentions he actually finished up before the final tapings of Season 4, and said the reason he quit was mainly because of the LU contract but an argument with Ivelisse got him to take the final jump. Jack seems to like living in Mexico and having his freedom. WWE and 2018 Jack Evans would be a bad match. But quitting both The Crash & LU in short order does seem to open the possibility of him doing something else. Jack Evans was actually the first person I saw when I got to my hotel in New Orleans. I did not ask him about any of this. I just nodded and kept going so he could continue smoking in peace.

- 03/26: Vampiro wrestles in Monterrey, says his plan is to retire at Verano de Escandalo in Monterrey next time if AAA lets him.
- 03/31: Vampiro says he’ll talk to people before deciding when he’ll have last matches
- 04/09: Vampiro announces he’s had his last match, post medical records of injuries from a couple years ago
- 04/11: Vampiro says he’s wrestling on Puebla on 04/14, but not on 05/16 in San Luis Potosi because he’ll be retired by then for sure.
I know that, by being laser focused on what a crazy person Vampiro is, I am actually the one who is now coming off as the crazy person. Like Vampiro with the many tragic accidents he seems to see on the road, I just can’t look away.
NPWL will have Vinnie Masaro vs Tiger Casas on 05/19 in Petaluma, California.
The Crash announced an 05/20 Tlaxcala show. Rey Mysterio and Caristico are advertised for the show.

The Panteras last passed thru in December. It’s still weird they get spots from regular CMLL wrestlers. They were fine, but there are much more interesting people to have in for guesta ppearances.
