CMLL (FRI) 10/20/2017 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Disturbio & Sangre Azteca b Oro Jr. & Star Jr.
2) Misterioso Jr., Pólvora, Sagrado b Guerrero Maya Jr., Pegasso, Rey Cometa
Sagrado replaced Dragon Rojo on Thursday. Misterioso took Guerrero Maya’s mask.
3) Cuatrero, Forastero, Sansón b Ángel de Oro, Niebla Roja, Soberano Jr.
NGD took 1/3. Money thrown in.
4) Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero, Terrible DQ Pierroth, Rush, Sam Adonis [Relevos Increíbles]
Straight falls. Adonis & Casas continue to feud. Tirantes DQ Sam Adonis for doing too bad of a job faking a foul.
5) Gran Guerrero, Mephisto, Último Guerrero b Diamante Azul, Mistico, Valiente
Rudos took 1/3.
6) Volador Jr. b Carístico [Leyenda de Plata]
Volador took the first fall, Caristico the second, and Volador the third to win the Leyenda de Plata. Caristico kneeled in front of Volador after the loss, as Volador told him to do on Informa.
It sounds like the third match was the best match of the night. The main event felt like the big match it should’ve been and seemed to draw in fans who don’t normally come.
There were no challenges following Adonis/Casas. It how can’t be happening on the Dia de Muertos shows, CMLL would’ve run angles to set it up.
CMLL has an article up about the FantasticaMania lineup. Disturbio says he found out the same way everyone else did, reading about it on Twitter. That must’ve been a heck of a thing to wake up to see. He sounds very excited.
AAA TV (FRI) 10/20/2017 Palenque de la Feria, Metepec, Estado de México [AAA]
1) Chicano b Rugido
Rugido’s debut. (From Coliseo Coacalco?)
2) Big Mami & Niño Hamburguesa b La Hiedra & Villano III Jr.
Villano III Jr. replaced Australian Suicide.
3) Angelikal, Hijo Del Vikingo, Lanzeloth b Ángel Mortal Jr., Australian Suicide, Tiger Boy
Australian Suicide replaced Villano III Jr., took the loss from Lanzelot
4) Dave The Clown, Monsther Clown, Murder Clown b Dark Cuervo, Dark Scoria, La Parka
La Parka & Dave The Clown were added. Histeria & Psicosis ran into attack Parka (?) and Dave got the pin on Parka.
5) Aerostar, Drago, Raptor DQ Averno, Chessman, Súper Fly
OGT DQed for excessive violence. This is the only unmodified match on the show.
6) Marty Martinez & Texano b Hijo del Fantasma & Pagano
Scheduled to be Fantasma, Pagano and Texano vs a mystery team. Fantasma had the win on Marty, but Texano hit Fantasma with the belt and Marty got the pin.
7) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Psycho Clown b Hernandez & Rey Escorpión
Hernandez replaced Kevin Kross. Rey Escorpion took Psycho Clown’s mask after the match.
The Metepec arena looked on the small side. It was not full, though it wasn’t that far off.
Dave the Clown/La Parka was a real feud. I am surprised AAA moved Suicide into the trios match for him to take the loss, but nothing here makes a lot of sense either.
The MMM show had Lucha Undergound writer Chris Roach talking about Season 3 for the first hour of the show. Roach said the crew really hoped they’d be able to find their own version of Stone Cold, and actually thought Texano might be it. They picked Pentagon to come in because they thought his mask looked cool, and he ended up being that role instead. Skip Chaussen came up with the arm break in the Pentagon intro vignette, the writers all loved it, and they ran with it.
They’re still feeling pretty strong about waiting to get the title Pentagon until the end of S3, thinking the story for pentagon chasing than would’ve been defending against heels. Sexy Star worked better for them as Mundo’s opponent because they needed a babyface who people would be angry about being cheated out of multiple titles by Mundo to build up resentment towards Johnny. Pentagon in that spot really would have to destroy everyone and win the title or his aura would’ve been broken. They had also long planned Mundo to be champion for a long time in S3; they didn’t want to put the title on him at the start of the series (because it would harm the unfamiliar guys they wanted to build up), but wanted to get there.
It’s not said in there, but everyone seems to be sure Bestia 666 is playing the role of Vampiro’s mater.
Shows this weekend:
- Coliseo’s main event is Diamante Azul, Marco Corleone and Mistico versus Euforia, Shocker and Ultimo Guerrero
- Ultimo Guerrero & Diamante Azul also main event in Arena Neza, with Gran Guerrero and Caristico.
- Many of the luchadors on AAA’s TV taping head to Tijuana.
- DTU has a deathmatch tournanment
- Mexa Wrestling debuts in Arena San Juan with Daga & Xtreme Tiger vs Aramis & Fly Warrior. Semimain is Flamita & Steve Pain vs Arez & Latigo. This looks like one of the better indie shows of the year, though no idea how it’s going to draw.
- 3 Bat in Brownsville has Penta & Rey Fenix vs Mecha Wolf & Ultimo Ninja.
Sunday
- CMLL is running it’s match for the heavyweight title, and I have no idea if it’s meant to be a one night thing or the last two advance
- Guadalajara has an incredible partners tournament.
- Puma King (vs John Silver) and Fly Warrior (vs Jonathan Greshman in their title tournament) appear on the Powerbomb.TV Futures show. This is the only show on this list you can watch live (and the only show that I know for absolutely sure you’ll able to see), though you do need to be a Powerbomb subscriber to watch. The show starts at 4pm CT.
- IWRG has even more Capos.
- Lucha Memes is in Puebla’s Arena La Loma, with Negro Casas vs Prayer as the main event and a Virus vs Centella de Oro match among others.
- MDA is running in Monterrey with the Caifans versus the Traumas and Bandido, Esfinge, and Hijo de La Park vs Hijo de Dos Caras, Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., and Sam Adonis. This is the show with Dulce Garcia’s return.
