Kind of back doing this again? I had grand plans of getting thru the backlog during labor day weekend and mostly got thru boxes of tissues.
Figuring out something below, but with only non-TV (or even just non-regular TV shows) is something I’d like to do if I could figure out when and how. Until then, the MOTYC list is updated again.

Prince Puma vs Pentagón Dark [Cueto Cup] and in a tournament final match
CMLL (MON) 09/11/2017Arena Puebla [CMLL, CultIcon]
1) Centella Roja, Hijo de Centella Roja, Meyer b Ares, El Perverso, Fuerza Chicana
2) Disturbio, Espanto Jr., King Jaguar b Arkalis, Rey Samuray, Tigre Rojo Jr. King Jaguar replaced Canelo Casas (who’s missed his last two matches running)
3) Blue Panther Jr., Stigma, The Panther b Misterioso Jr., Sagrado, Vangellys
4) Ángel de Oro, Kráneo, Valiente b Cavernario, Felino, Johnny Idol[Relevos Increíbles] Johnny Idol replaced Diamante Azul on 09/07.
5) Carístico, Octagón, Volador Jr. b Gran Guerrero, Kojima, Negro Casas Octagon submitted Negro Casas this week.
Octagon is not into falling down, which makes it tough to be a professional luchador. I assume him winning means that whoever’s making the decisions here has a lot of independence from CMLL; they could use that power in such better ways. This was not a good show.
Keyra and LA Park won new titles in Irapuato’s Generacion XX1.
Today’s CMLL card is juggled around a bit due to Diamante Azul not being around. (As far as CMLL is saying, he’ll still be back on Friday.) The big match hasn’t changed: Gallito & Microman face Chamuel & Mije in the tercera. The top half of the show all did change, with people being moved up to replace Diamante Azul. The main is Draogn Lee, Stuka, and Valiente against Cavernario, Negro Casas and Shocker. CMLL seemed to be setting up a tag title match with Casas & Shocker against Stuka & Azul but, with Shocker missing last week and Azul this week, who knows.
Drone, Johnny Idol and Titan face Rey Bucanero, Terrible and Vangellys, who hasn’t been successful in leaving this group. Esfinge, Fuego and Pegasso face Luciferno, Tigre and Virus. Comandante, Seductora, and Metalica take on Vaquerita, Sanely and Marcela (replacing Skadi.) The opener has rookies Retro, Sangre Imperial, Templario and Yago, with the rudos way ahead of the tecnicos. It’ll air on YouTube starting at 7:30, and the micros match should be up around 8:10.
AAA is having a press conference today for Heroes Inmortales. The latest lineup they announced changed – they’re running a Rey Wagner vs Johnny Mundo title match – but it might change a hundred more times. I can’t imagine Wagner is losing if they’re doing that match, and so Mundo going home empty handed seems more likely than keeping all the titles. Really doesn’t matter until the show starts.
AAA Japan started announcing the Lucha World Cup teams. The big news is these are teams of two, not three as in past years. That explains a lot in how they’re getting it done: less people and partnering with NOAH
1: Mexico (AAA): TBA
2: Mexico (LU): TBA
3: USA (NOAH): Cody Hall & Quiet Storm
4: USA (LU): TBA
5: Japan (NOAH): Taiji Ishimori & HI69
6: International (IGF): TBA
7: International (LU): TBA
8: UK/New Zealand (FREE?): TBA
If Cody Hall & Quiet Storm are the US representatives, they’re just grabbing whoever’s already there for the non-Mexico/LU spots. They’ve announced Mil Muertes, Psycho Clown, King Cuerno, Drago, Sexy Star and Vampiro for the tour. Not sure if Vampiro is wrestling, not sure if Sexy Star will end up going. Cuerno & Mil might the Mexico LU team (Mil is from Mexico, Mesias is not) and Psycho & Drago as the AAA team.
HIjo del Fantasma faces EC3 this week on Impact for their Grand Championship. This title is decided in three 3 minute rounds, with 3 judges deciding the winner if no one wins in the time. Hector Guerrero will be one of the judges as an AAA representative (though he doesn’t seem to have any relationship with AAA other than they needed someone in that spot.)
MedioTiempo has an obit for Sultan Gargola and a list of the 30 masks lost at an Anniversary show. There’s a graphic going around showing all 30, but I’m not sure who came up with it and don’t want to give credit to the wrong person. All but the last few would be part of the mural in Arena Mexico.
CMLL (SUN) 09/17/2017Arena México
1) Eléctrico, Shockercito, Último Dragóncito vs Mercurio, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito
2) Pegasso, Starman, Stigma vs Cancerbero, Puma, Raziel
3) Lady Maravilla, Marcela, Princesa Sugehit vs Amapola, Dalys, Zeuxis
4) Dragón Lee, Flip Gordon, Rey Cometa vs Euforia, Rey Bucanero, Terrible
5) Carístico, Niebla Roja, Volador Jr. vs Gran Guerrero, Kojima, Rush
Both the unmasked people are scheduled to be back the next day. I assume This is the last day for Kojima too but he just seems to be hanging around.
No Saturday Coliseo card (since they’re running Arena Mexico), and the Sunday Guadalajara card is the Legends Inmortales show announced a while back. CMLL hasn’t mentioned either of these things on their website, which is normal.
It’s not here, but there’s a couple matches from the GALLI show up on the YouTube channel too.
