MDA (SUN) 07/09/2017 Arena Jose Sulaiman, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon [LuchaMania Monterrey]
1) Galactar & Jessy Vasco Jr. b Faceman & Quinto Elemento
Faceman replaced Hijo de LA Park (moved up)
2) Rossy Moreno & Tiffany b Poly Star & Tsunami
3) Charles Lucero & Panthro b Black Terry & Negro Navarro
4) Karonte & Mongol Chino b Solar I & Súper Astro
5) Antifaz & Caifan b Rey Escorpión (Elite) & Toscano
7) Hechicero (CMLL), Octagón, Último Dragón b Fuerza Guerrera, Hijo de LA Park, Satánico
moved down a spot and Hijo de LA Park replaced Negro Casas. Dragon pinned Fuerza
8) Difunto I, LA Park, Vaquero Romo b Bengalí, Diluvio Negro II, Rush
moved to the main event. Rush & Park did their thing, with Park busted open after a bottle shot. Difunto beat Bengala. Rush and Park made their usual challenges.
This was the show where the upper level was free (which still didn’t appear to be full), because they were running heads up against Revolucha/The Crash in Arena Coliseo Monterrey.
CMLL (MON) 07/10/2017 Arena Puebla [CMLL]
1) Cancerbero, El Malayo, Raziel b Arkalis, Asturiano, París
2) Ares, Misterioso Jr., Sagrado b Blue Panther Jr., Lestat, The Panther
Misterioso took The Panther’s mask.
3) Dalys © b Marcela [CMLL WOMEN]
10th defense, 5th against Marcela (the last title defense in this building was against Marcela too). Dalys’ pin in the third fall looked like something went wrong (like maybe Marcela was supposed to kick out at 3.1 and kicked out at 2.9 instead.)
4) Cavernario, Euforia, Felino b Dragón Lee, Titán, Valiente
Euforia replaced Mr. Niebla.
5) Niebla Roja b Último Guerrero
Niebla Roja won in straight falls, small packaging UG on the Pulpo Guerrero in the second.
6) Pierroth, Rush, Volador Jr. b Carístico, Kráneo, Ripper [Relevos Increíbles]
Team Rush took falls 1/3, the last with a Rush foul on Caristico after Tirantes was knocked down.
They needed that Niebla Roja finish on Friday. It happened on Monday. Maybe it doesn’t matter, maybe UG just beats him next week anyway. I was only half paying attention to this show and it seemed like Cavernario and Dragon Lee were being nuts and the finish of the women’s match was completely weird. I have to watch it again, but I wasn’t sure if that wasn’t supposed to be the end of the match and Marcela’s kickout was missed, or if Marcela was making a point of kicking out too late but did it too soon.
Today’s Arena Mexico show has the Chavez brothers, Angel de Oro & Niebla Roja, teaming with Mistico against Rey Bucanero, Shocker, And Terrible. It doesn’t seem like the greatest combination for a good match. There’s a little more hope elsewhere in the card. Valiente takes on Gran Guerrero in a first time very lightning match. Drone, Guerrero Maya and Rey Cometa meet Dragon Rojo, Hechicero and Polvora in what looks like the best match on the show.
The women’s match is much more of a challenge, with Estrellita, Sanely and Skadi taking on La Seductora, Metalica and La Comandante. Comandante is listed in CMLL’s preview replacing Tiffany, which would be her first streaming appearance since January. Estrellita returned (from a shoulder injury?) this past weekend. The same preview has the second match as Oro Jr., Robin, and Principe Diamante versus Metalico, Sangre Azteca and Hijo del Signo, which would mean Sangre is replacing Nitro (in France?) Same thing with the opener: the preview has it as Ultimo Dragoncito & Fantasy against Pierrothito & Pequeno Nitro, so Pierrothito is in for Mercurio. The Fantasy/Nitro feud is probably continuing. The show airs on YouTube at 7:30pm.
Guadalajara tonight has a Carsitico vs Cavernario singles match, a first time ever match.
CMLL has an interview with Titan talking about the upcoming trip to the UK on the ROH tour. He says the things you would expect. What you wouldn’t expect is Volador is now listed on the tour and Mistico is not. It’s unclear if that’s a change or a typo.
Ultimo Guerrero’s match on ROH TV against Matt Taven aired this past week; you can watch it on Fite.TV (entrances start 18:30).
Box Y Lucha has a 38 minute video with Vangellys and his family. I did not watch this, I’m sure they’re lovely.
Back on Thursday (and pointed out yesterday by SuperLuchas), Alberto told SI that he will be on TripleMania and he may be defending his GFW title. That was before Alberto’s latest incident, which is only getting uglier today. AAA hasn’t said anything about Alberto being on the show.
Roshfans has an interview with Pandemonium Jr. about La Llave de de la Gloria. The content produced for this contest has been good, but it’s all been all over the place and inconsistent doled out. I’m not expecting it to make sense – I expect the winning announcement to be Vampiro pointing at someone at saying “you win!” and then pointing at three more people and telling them they win too because everyone wins, and then no one appears on TV ever again – but it does feel like they did a lot of work on this that hasn’t been used.
Metropolifixion.com has an article on Violento Jack and DTU. Jack explains his parents wanted him to get off the couch and do something, he didn’t like basketball or soccer, so he took up wrestling just to get some exercise and now he’s having ultraviolent matches Jun Kasai.
Tinieblas says FULL is planning on running another tour in September, which may include Alberto, and also still teasing a TV show at some point soon. He and Scorpio Jr. were in Tlaxcala to promote a show on July 22nd.
RIOT on 07/29 in Arena Femenil Monterrey
1) Shane Strickland vs Fly Warrior in the first round of the Powerbomb.TV tournament.
2) Muerte Extrema vs Psicotico
3) Low Rider vs Sayrus
4) Erik Ortiz vs Black Terry – new!
This is a Saturday, so whatever Arena Coliseo feud probably has to wrap up by the 22nd.
LuchaWorld has this week’s Poster-Mania.
Lineups

1) Keiser Drago vs Power Bull

7) Mr. Electro © vs Black Warrior [IWRG IC HEAVY]
first defense
IWRG going with one good midcard singles match a week would be nice.
Not sure where Hijo del Pantera disappeared to this week, but his father continues his feud without him.
There is a Wednesday card here, though it’s a Lucha Libre Boom show that was announced some time back.
CMLL (MON) 07/17/2017 Arena Puebla
1) Black Tiger & Meyer vs Fuerza Chicana & Rey Apocalipsis
2) Astro, Shockercito, Último Dragóncito vs Joker, Pequeño Nitro, Pierrothito
3) Astral, Lestat, Tigre Rojo Jr. vs Hijo del Signo, King Jaguar, Sangre Azteca
4) Rey Cometa, Stigma, Stuka Jr. vs Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto
5) Carístico, Diamante Azul, Euforia vs Pierroth, Rush, Volador Jr.
6) Último Guerrero © vs Niebla Roja [NWA MIDDLE]
13th defense
Niebla Roja won on Sunday, won on Monday – are they going to have him every win except the one that really would’ve mattered? (Would the crowd have turned on Roja if he won after that UG focused match?) It’s probably moot since Roja isn’t going to win a title when he already has one.
They may be setting up Caristico versus Rush as another Puebla Anniversary main event, but I’d rather see the guys in the fourth match go for the trios titles.
