CMLL weekends results, Canelo Casas contra Cholo

how often do we get a top page pic of Cholo? (photo by CMLL/Alexis Salazar)

CMLL (TUE) 07/04/2017 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Martes de Glamour]
1) Maléfico & Thunder Boy b Metatrón & Neutrón
rudos took 2/3
2) Espanto Jr., Hijo del Signo, Rey Trueno b Astral, Bengala, Magnum
rare Guadalajara appearance for Bengala, subbing for Robin. Signo & Espanto replaced Akuma & Canelo. Rudos took 2/3.
3) Disturbio, Tiger, Virus b Esfinge, Oro Jr., Star Jr.
Rudos took 2/3.
4) Guerrero Maya Jr., Stuka Jr., Titán b Hechicero, Luciferno, Ripper
Luciferno replaced Felino. Tecnicos took 2/3.
5) Carístico, Dragón Lee, Mistico DQ Cavernario, Mephisto, Último Guerrero
tecnicos took 2/3. Cavernario fouled and unmasked Caristico to set up a singles match next week.

None of this week’s Guadalajara show escaped the block on the stream, so the odds of actually seeing the Caristico/Cavernario match are low.

CMLL (SAT) 07/08/2017 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]

tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Amapola, La Comandante, Zeuxis b Estrellita, La Vaquerita, Sanely
Zeuxis replaced Metalica. Rudas took 2/3
3) Blue Panther Jr., Fuego, The Panther b Puma, Sangre Azteca, Tiger Puma, Tiger y Sangre Azteca vs The Panther, Blue Panther Jr. y Fuego | CMLL | 08-07-17 (posted by TVLuchaMundial)

Drone replaced Stuka Junior. Buca Storm for the win.
5) Black Terry, Hechicero, Negro Navarro DQ Cuatrero, Máscara Año 2000, Sansón Black Terry, Negro Navarro y Hechicero vs Sansón, Cuatrero y Máscara Año 200 | CMLL | 08-07-17 (posted by TVLuchaMundial)
Team Coliseo champs/Navarro took 1/3. Mascara faked a foul from Navarro in the second, Navarro did the same in the third. Rematch set for next week.
6) Diamante Azul, Marco Corleone, Volador Jr. DQ Kráneo, Pierroth, Rush
Pierroth fouled Marco

A lot going on for a quiet Saturday show. The Black Terry Jr. clips are much longer than usual.

CMLL (SUN) 07/09/2017 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Acero & Aéreo b Pequeño Olímpico & Pequeño Violencia
2) Cholo b RobinPríncipe DiamanteOro Jr.SenseiMagia BlancaSangre ImperialArtilleroInquisidorEspíritu NegroCanelo CasasEspanto Jr. [cibernetico]
elimination order: Sangre Imperial, Magia Blanca (by Inquisidor), Artillero (Robin), Sensei (Cholo), Principe Diamante (Canelo Casas), Robin (Inquisidor), Oro (set up by Cholo but Canelo stole the pin – only rudos left at this point!), Espiritu Negro (Espanto), Espanto Jr. (Canelo Casas), Inquisidor (Canelo Casas), Canelo Casas (w/help from Espanto & Inquisidor!) All the rudos attacked Canelo Casas after the match.
3) Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Sam Adonis b Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Dragón Lee
rudos took 1/3, Adonis sneaking in a foul on Blue Panther
4) Soberano Jr., Valiente, Volador Jr. b Cavernario, Felino, Sansón
Soberano Jr. replaced Atlantis on Thursday. Sanson replaced Mr. Niebla.
5) Niebla Roja DQ Último Guerrero
Niebla Roja took falls 1/3, the last by mask pull. He won the first by Code Red variant, with UG selling like he might not be able to continue the match.

CMLL’s recap says Ultimo Guerrero accepted the hair vs mask challenge with Niebla Roja today. He just said he wasn’t doing in Wednesday. Who knows. The recap makes it sounds like Niebla Roja got more on UG today than Friday. It probably doesn’t help Roja as much, even if it happens on Monday too.

There’s upwards of 90 people who need a feud (and a likely hair match win) in CMLL more than Canelo Casas but, if they’re insistent on continuing to book him despite the lack of success so far, they might as well see if he’d fit in better as a tecnico. It can’t be any worse. Cholo heading to the pay window, in one manner of speaking or another, is at least amusing – though it’s possible that turns into a cage match given how many people were involved.

This week’s AAA episode is up. If Vampiro is your favorite wrestler, this is a show you may particularly enjoy.

AAA had a bit on Televisa’s La Jugada tonight. I tried to watch it, assumed I missed it, and found it it aired after I had given up. I think we’ll hear about it again if it was important. Dinastia was part of it, which suggest he’ll be on the show in some form even though his only TV match since April was losing his title.

Lucha Memes promoter Daniel Ledesma was a guest on Los Reyes del Biutiful, which MicromanFever recapped on his tumblr. Ledesma talks about his different jobs in wrestling leading to him to Lucha Memes, and how he’d recommend people not become promoters. He mentions that a Lucha Memes luchadora will debut on July 21st in CMLL; that fits with Rob’s guest that Keira’s making her CMLL debut in the Copa Natalia Vazquez.

Atlantis got his right knee operation. No word yet on how long he’ll be out.

Hijo del Tirantes lost his hair in Xalapa to local Eslabon Perdido.

RCH has decided to cease promoting lucha libre events. They ran 13 events between 2013 and 2017, the most recent back in June.

La Parka’s Record column takes shots at Octagon without mentioning him by name. I think one out of every two La Parka columns is “him” taking shots at someone. Parka praises Taya as former Reina de Reinas champ but says the vacant title will be a great chance for La Hiedra and Lady Shani. Neither of them are likely to be winning this but I’m pretty sure it would’ve meant more if they beat someone important who was champion.

Rey Mysterio and Juventud Guerrera are headed to San Paulo, Brasil on October 28th.

LuchaWorld has the latest news update.

Segunda Caida watches Negro Casas in the CMLL Universal tournament.

Paste Machine has the best lucha libre matches of the year so far.

Lineups

CMLL (SAT) 07/15/2017 Arena Coliseo
1) Fiero & Sangre Imperial vs Grako & Templario
2) Eléctrico, Shockercito, Stukita vs Mercurio, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Violencia
3) Blue Panther Jr., Drone, The Panther vs Disturbio, Forastero, Tiger
4) Soberano Jr. vs Misterioso Jr. [lightning]
5) Cuatrero, Máscara Año 2000, Sansón vs Black Terry, Hechicero, Negro Navarro
6) Marco Corleone, Niebla Roja, Stuka Jr. vs Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Terrible

Semimain is the rematch, though they didn’t tease the tag title match this week. (Negro Navarro versus Mascara 2000 in a singles match in CMLL would be kind of amazing as long as I don’t have to watch it.)

Soberano and Misterioso actually get a singles match! I wasn’t sure their feud was going to get that far.
