5) Ángel de Oro, Mistico, Niebla Roja DQ Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero LA MEJOR LUCHA LIBRE EN VIVO DESDE LA ARENA PUEBLA 5 DE JUNIO DEL 2017 (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
Tencicos took 2/3. UG fouled Niebla Roja.

Today’s CMLL show has Volador Jr. returning to Arena Mexico (this time for sure), teaming with Valiente and Stuka against Cavernario, Negro Casas and Shocker. Shocker is replacing Mr. Niebla, because they forgot Niebla was pulled into the Guadalajara heavyweight championship match. Negro Casas is replacing Felino because I dunno, but it does put the tag team champions on the same team for the first time since October. The last tag team title program CMLL ran was Casas/Shocker versus Volador/Valiente, maybe they’re setting it up again.

The best match on the show might be another Panthers/Dinamita match, with Cuatrero, Sanson and Mascara 2000 being the Dinamita group. Titan/Ephesto is the lightning match that’ll probably end sadly. Fuego, Idol and Stigma take on Misterioso, Sagrado and Virus. There’s a minis match and a typical opening match. It’ll air on CMLL’s YouTube channel at 7:30pm.

Arena Coliseo Guadalajara has the ten person heavyweight cibernetico, which they say will determine the champion, not the final two advancing to next week. So does CMLL’s Facebook. I hope they’re right, it’s a much better finish to a match that way. Rey Bucanero, Dragon Rojo, Kraneo, Gran Guerrero are in it but have no chance. Euforia, Pierroth and Mr. Niebla all feel like long shots (and I wish I could totally rule out Pierroth winning but it seems more plausible than the other two.) Rush, Marco Corleone and Terrible are the favorites. CMLL is booked as if Rush is actually the heavyweight champion so he should have the title, but CMLL titles rarely make total sense.

This lucha tag match at Powerbomb.TV‘s Break the Barrier show this Sunday is now Puma & Felino vs Guerrero Maya Jr. & Skayde. This is the match which was first announced as Puma & Tiger versus Traumas. This show is a special situation, they’re trying to get eyeballs on their VOD network by running a show with people you might see on that network, but I can not imagine ever running a show because it seems incredibly stressful for the payoff. I mean, I’m really happy people do it (including people who may not be all that happy with me at the moment), but lucha promoters are only slightly less insane than lucahdors. Every other match on the Powerbomb.tv show seems to not have had this drama, it’s the lucha one causing the issue.

The situation with the Traumas hasn’t really been talked about much – I heard Adam Lash talk about it on We Don’t Know Wrestling last week and you should listen it to if you want to understand the sequence of events. I was asked about the Traumas when they were being brought up, and said I’d heard no more about the kidnapping/assault accusations Trauma II’s ex-girlfriend made since that it was reported. Only, I didn’t really know enough of what I was talking about, since Powerbomb.TV was later told other information which caused the Traumas to be replaced. I don’t know the information, just that there’s something backing up that original story which is getting people to back away from using Trauma II. If Trauma II did attack his ex-girlfriend, then I wouldn’t want him on my shows either and there’s a lot bigger problems here than wrestling. If he didn’t, he’s going to have to do something to prove his innocence to English speaking promoters if he wants to be get booked there going forward. Trauma II will probably be continued to be booked in Mexico whatever comes of this, which could a whole other ineffective digression in itself.

The Powerbomb.TV show is just a $15 ticket if you’re near Old Forge, Pennsylvania on Sunday. It’s also going to stream live, starting at 2pm, on Powerbomb.tv’s network. Powerbomb.tv is $10 month/$100 a year, but they also offer a 10 day trial where you’re not even asked about your billing info. They’d like you pay for the service and I think you should if you enjoy it, but any new user could sign up this week, and get the stream live on Sunday before deciding if they want to subscribe.

the Houston Press has a really good story on lucha libre, focusing on the local scene and the growing lucha shows in the US. It’s long but worth your time. There’s a lot of talk about the real injuries from lucha, including the mention of a Houston luchador death from a couple years ago that I don’t think I heard of before.

Wrestle-1’s Kohei Fujimura is headed to Mexico starting on June 9th. He did an interview talking about how he’d like to return to Japan as a masked man. No promotion is mentioned, but I guess we should be on the look out for a new name showing up in IWRG.

Black Boy & Flamita defeated Daga & Hijo del Pirata Morgan in Tijuana. Arkangel kept The Crash Junior championships over Latigo & Mirage.

RobViper has highlights of CMLL C3 02/24/15.

Lineups

The Crash (FRI) 06/23/2017 Auditorio de Tijuana, Tijuana, Baja California
1) Black Danger vs Oraculo
2) Rey Horus © vs Matt Sydal, Lio Rush, Sami Callihan [The Crash CRUISER]
3) Douglas James, Flip Gordon, Jack Evans vs Bestia 666, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Mr. 450
4) Jeff Cobb & Keith Lee vs Brian Cage & Willie Mack
5) Penta Zero M & The King vs La Máscara & M-ximo
6) Daga vs Garza Jr., Damián 666, Nicho el Millionario [hair, cage]

The main event is billed as a tag match but only one person is losing their hair (so it’s a four way.) Nicho getting one last payday before his operation seems like the most likely option.

Maximo is “M-ximo” here. Interesting he changes his name and La Mascara has not. The fourth match has a lot of large men who like to do an occasional flip. Second match looks good, should probably not be the second match.

In theory, when Konnan said The Crash wanted to work out what they were going to do for video (TV, YouTube, iPPV, whatever) by next month, he meant by this show. In reality, I’m not really expecting anything it until it happens.

7) Dr. Pólux, Dr. Pólux Jr., Ovett b Cíclope, Crazy King, Miedo Extremo
Dr. Polux Jr. promised a big victory on the next DTU tour. X-LAW attacked Los Macizos again, with Pesadilla betraying DTU to join them.

Not much of note from the SLP show – except for Dezmond Xavier being a Nerd for the night. I too forgot Polvora & Dragon Rojo were the DTU tag team champions. With that match set up, whatever Dr. Polux is up to and the X-LAW stuff, it seems like DTU is busy all the sudden.

4) Black Terry & Negro Navarro © b Blue Panther & Octagón [Arena Coliseo TAG]
4th defense. Money thrown in.
6) Hechicero (CMLL) b Satánico
good match. Hechicero wants the rights to create his own Los Infernales. Satanico was not in favor of that idea.
7) Último Guerrero b Último Dragón
Guerrero cheated to beat Dragon on the show honoring him.

I think there was some concern about how they would draw in running in this building for the first time, but it looks like it went pretty well in the photos. I almost 100% certain I didn’t understand the Hechicero/Satanico angle right, but know it must be going somewhere because Hechicero brought up it earlier in the weekend too.

AULL (SAT) 06/03/2017 Arena Lopez Mateos [Black Terry Jr. (Flickr), Estrellas del Ring, R de Rudo, SuperLuchas]
1) Dante, Euro, Filder b Príncipe Mexica, Súper Astro Jr., Súper Terry
2) Keira b Lady Maravilla, Diosa Atenea [AULL WOMEN]

3) Máscarita Sagrada 2013 & Mini Rey Misterio b Mini Psicosis Ripper & Pentagoncito
4) Emperador Azteca, Golden Magic, Terry 2000 b El Bandido (Elite), Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Sádico
Terry 2000 beat eternal rival Sadico. Money thrown in.
4) Black Terry & Negro Navarro b Caifan & Dr. Cerebro
Money thrown in.
5) Dos Caras Sr., Huracán Ramírez, Octagón DQ Canek, Fuerza Guerrera, Villano IV
6) Dr. Wagner Jr. b Blue Demon Jr.
Dr. Wagner Sr., Blue Demon Sr. and the Guzman family was honored on the 50th anniversary of the promotion. Babe Richard was referee. Wagner wore his classic white outfit for the win. Wagner cheated to beat Demon. They teased a mask match, with them agreeing it’d have to wait until after TripleMania.

First a few big shows Arena Lopez Mateos is holding for it’s 50th Anniversary. They’re never going to get noticed because they’re not a big promotion, but it’s probably one of the longest currently running promotions in the world. It’s just hard to stay in business that long.

The Mascarita Sagrada, teaming with Mini Rey Misterio/Octagoncito AAA, appears to be the Mascarita Sagrada who was most recently in AAA as well. It’s the Sagrada who’s been in Lucha Underground, who suffered a serious knee injury on the last day of Season 3 taping. It’s great that he’s back and interesting it’s on an indie show with another AAA mini who’s kinda of working his own schedule. AAA’s rarely using the minis on TV nowadays and I wonder if they’re allowing them to work their own dates.

IWRG (SUN) 06/04/2017 Arena Naucalpan [+LuchaTV, Estrellas del Ring, The Gladiatores]
1) Power Bull b Shaolin
2) Atomic Star & Lunatic Extreme b Kanon & Keiser Drago
3) Apolo Estrada Jr., Argos, Demonio Infernal b Leo, Rafy, Teelo
4) El Hijo del Diablo, Eterno, Oficial 911 DQ Black Dragón, Dinamic Black, Dragón Fly
Oficial 911 returned to replace Pirata Morgan. Eterno & 911 were DQed – maybe for not catching a dive? Diablo said he’s going after Black Dragon.
5) Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Freelance b Hijo del Pantera, Internacional Pantera, Pantera I
best match of the night
6) Trauma I & Trauma II b Oficial AK47 & Oficial Fierro [IWRG IC TAG, #1 Contenders]
winners get a shot at Diablo Jr. I & Black Terry. Oficial 911 fouled Trauma I to give his partners the win.
7) Imposible © b Súper Mega [IWRG Rey del Ring]
first defense. Imposible took 2/3 in another bloody match.

I feel like all the Oficials announced they were retiring at one point. I don’t mind that they’re still here.

LI (SUN) 06/04/2017 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [+LuchaTV, Arena Coliseo Guadalajara]
1) La Pantera & Princesa Tiger b Estrella Explosiva & Súper Estrella
2) Avispón Negro Jr., Flash I, Flash II b Évola, Ráfaga, Ráfaga Jr.
Evola fouled Flash II, but Flash I cardled him for the win.
3) Canek Jr., Hijo del Fishman, Villano III Jr. b Payaso Cocolores, Súper Muñeco, Súper Pinocho
Super Pinocho betrayed Super Muneco once again.
4) Hijo del Lizmark, Rayman, Súper Astro DQ Cien Caras Jr., Máscara Año 2000, Mr. Águila
Mascara fouled Rayman
5) Canek & Máscara Sagrada DQ El Fantasma & Rayo de Jalisco Jr.
Mascara 2000 & Cien Caras Jr. ran in for DQs.

Two straight DQs and a team breaking up isn’t something I’d be that interested in a show, but then this show wasn’t for me with any sort of finish.

Dick Togo & Douki beat Dr. Cerbero & Hanaoki in Coliseo Coacalco.

There will be a Mesias tribute show in Puerto Rico on 09/23. Rey Mysterio, Cage, MVP and Ivelisse are also appearing. Hugo Savinovich is promoting under the same Wrestling Superstar name they’ve used in Chile.

Silueta won in the main event of REINA’s 06/04 show.

Puebla residents complain about too much trash being left around Arena Puebla after shows.

Lineups

CMLL (SAT) 06/10/2017 Arena Coliseo
1) Fantasy & Último Dragóncito vs Mercurio & Pequeño Universo 2000
2) Astral, Pegasso, Starman vs Disturbio, Nitro, Virus
3) Ángel de Oro, Valiente, Volador Jr. vs Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto
4) Carístico vs Johnny Idol, Niebla Roja, Stuka Jr., Misterioso Jr., Cavernario, Ripper, Drone, Blue Panther, Pólvora [CMLL LH, semifinal]

I think tomorrow’s match in Guadalajara is not going to determine a champ, but this one I know is not – it’s listed specifically that way. Caristico would normally be the overwhelming favorite but the next big win Caristico gets in CMLL will be the first one since his return. If CMLL’s going with Niebla Roja, he might as well keep winning here.

It is interesting that CMLL’s putting these tournaments on what appear to be two of the least important shows they book. They’re obviously busy on Friday, but it doesn’t appear there was anything happening on the other Arena Mexico shows.

CMLL (SUN) 06/11/2017 Arena México
1) Leono & Sensei vs Apocalipsis & Cholo
2) La Jarochita, La Vaquerita, Skadi vs La Comandante, Metálica, Tiffany
3) Blue Panther Jr., Drone, The Panther vs Cuatrero, Sansón, Universo 2000 Jr.
4) Blue Panther, Dragón Lee, Titán vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Luciferno
5) Atlantis, Marco Corleone, Mistico vs Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Terrible

Case in point. Last Sunday’s finish was on Niebla Roja & Euforia and they’re not back. TGR is back though. Universo gets the third man spot in NGD on this show. CMLL’s not really good at booking four person teams. Or five person teams, I guess.

CMLL (SUN) 06/11/2017 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) El Patriarca & Mr. Ángel vs Destello & Destructor
2) El Alteño, Explosivo, Johnny Dinamo vs Furia Roja, Mr. Trueno, Rey Trueno
3) El Rielero, Magnum, Vaquero Jr. vs Difunto, Joker, Sádico
4) Black Sugar, El Divino, Fantástico, Tigre Blanco vs Gran Kenut, Guerrero de la Muerte, Linterna, Thunder Boy
5) Star Black vs Nautilius [mask]

Nautilius betrayed Star Black about a month ago, and it seemed to be headed to a mask match right away.

06/04/2017 Verano de Escandalo Results (Soul Rocker & Carta Brava unmasked)

Soul Rocker/Carta Brava (photo by AAA)

AAA TV (SUN) 06/04/2017 Gimnasio Municipal Josué Neri Santos, Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua [AAA, MT, Record]
1) Máscara de Bronce b Hernandez
Mascara de Bronce asked to cash in his mega title shot on this show. Johnny Mundo wasn’t actually there, but Hernandez showed up instead with the idea that Mascara de Bronce wasn’t worth Mundo’s time. It didn’t appear the title was on the line, it’s unclear if the title shot was on the line. Bronce won, but Hernandez took the suitcase with the title shot anyway.
2) Argenis, La Parka, Lanzeloth b Averno, Chessman, Súper Fly
Lanzeloth replaced Ricky Marvin, but Marvin was said to still be around (not around here, but they’re keeping his feud going.) Averno fouled Lanzleot for the win.
3) Pimpinela Escarlata b Mamba [hair]
listed as a bull terrier match, not a bull terrier match
4) Hijo del Fantasma DRAW Kevin Kross, Texano Jr. [cage]
Texano and a cage was added to the match. Unlike every other cage match in AAA, the cage match here was to decide a winner by first person out. Fantasma & Texano left at the same time, so Vampiro declared they’ll have a three way with Mundo for all the tiles at TripleMania. Hernandez distracted Kross from escaping for no clear reason. Vampiro took the case back from Hernandez and handed it to Mascara de Bronce.
5) Dark Cuervo & Dark Scoria b El Mesías & Pagano © and Aerostar & Drago and Australian Suicide & Bengala [AAA TAG]
Bengala & Suicide are still partners despite Suicide appearing to attack Bengala twice and were added to this match for no clear reason. Mesias & Pagano fall on first defense. Cuervo & SCoria are now the 20th champions. Mesias destroyed Pagano after the match.
6) Carta Brava Jr. & Soul Rocker L Dr. Wagner Jr. & Psycho Clown and Monsther Clown & Murder Clown [mask]
announced to be a tag team mask match instead of a singles match. Wagner & Psycho beat Carta Brava & Soul Rocker. Carta Brava is Sergio Marca, 15 years a wrestler. Soul Rocker is Ignacio Patino, 15 years old (the former Tito Santana.)

Air Date: July 1 & 8, maybe.

AAA’s pictures make the arena look full, but other shots show rows of empty floor seats. They look partly occupied early on, then not at all later on when everyone smartly moves up.

I said AAA had 2 of 6 advertised matches last night, but I did forget that the Pimpinela/Mamba match was listed as a bull terrier match for reasons no one ever knew. I guess you can call it 1 of 6. I don’t understand why this feud happened, since it never meant anything except to the few people who remember Mamba taking Pimpinela’s hair four years ago.

Top two matches were predictable outcomes, but at least in the ways that made the most sense. The Poder del Norte team only seemed to exist as a way to have a main event for this show while they were running out the clock to Wagner/Psycho, but I’m not sure they ever got them to the point where people really card. it’s a win for those guys, even if they didn’t care, since it was incredibly unlikely they’d get a main event mask loss on AAA TV prior to this.

Pagano getting destroyed in his hometown is straight up WWE booking, so no big surprise it’s being done in AAA now. Just like the main event, the tag team title stuff was just something to buy some time because TripleMania is the only show that AAA really cares about this year, and the title change was just a fake out to see if they could convince the fans of some other outcome. (Like with Poder del Norte, I don’t think it actually worked.) I dread whatever death match he and Mesias are going to have in August. I’m not a fan of going back to Cuervo & Scoria because they weren’t that good as a champs before and there’s some added benefit to keeping the belts on Aerostar & Drago if they’re the guys AAA is trying to send elsewhere as a stars.

You can tell this is being written by someone who doesn’t watch a lot of lucha libre, because they didn’t do the cage match rules the lucha way, they did them in a way that actually makes sense. Again, the draw to set up a three way match is a repeated WWE trope being used here. I never could figure out how Kross was supposed to fit all their TripleMania plans and it doesn’t seem like they did either if he’s maybe feuding with Hernandez.

Maybe it comes off better on TV, but the Mascara de Bronce/Hernandez thing comes off as something specifically written so Vampiro can come off as the big hero. I’m not sure why you would need to write that – I think people would assume ego, but it’s also possible they’ve got the Vampiro rudo turn planned (main event of TripleMania?) and they’re having him be an over the top hero to make it all the more shocking when he costs Psycho (or I guess Wagner, but Psycho) his mask.

working TripleMania 25 card for August 27, version 1.0. Italics indicate match not official.

  • Psycho Clown vs Dr. Wagner Jr., mask vs mask
  • Johnny Mundo (c) vs Hijo del Fantasma vs Texano Jr. for all three AAA championships
  • a dream battle royal with Lanzelot and TBA
  • probably Mesias vs Pagano in an extreme match
  • maybe Faby Apache vs Taya for the Reina de Reinas title
  • maybe something with the OGT vs Parka/Argenis/Ricky
  • perhaps Aerostar, Drago, Raptor versus Poder del Norte for the AAA Trios Championship
  • possibly Big Mami & Nino Hamburguesa versus Venum & TBA for the AAA Mixed Tag Champion

No idea where Kross fits. No idea where Angelico fits, and he’s supposed to be back by July. Maybe they have a match? No idea, but they’re already running out of room and Impact (& NOAH?) guys are also going to need a spot. If Mascara de Bronce was a smarter ex-goat boy, he’d ask for his title match on this show. He may still lose but he’ll get to be on TripleMania and it’s not clear he’ll be on otherwise. How did Lanzelot end up with a better spot here than his borther Dinastia, who seemed to be the one who got him in?

Next taping is two weeks from today in Nuevo Laredo.

3) Blue Panther Jr., Rey Cometa, The Panther DQ Forastero, Sagrado, Sam Adonis
Adonis fouled Rey Cometa
4) Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Valiente b Dragón Rojo Jr., Morphosis, Pólvora
Morphosis’ first proper CMLL match since November (so also the first since he lost his mask.)
5) Atlantis, Marco Corleone, Niebla Roja b Ephesto, Mephisto, Rey Bucanero

An all tecnico night. I’m suspicious Cometa & Adonis may just be working their own feud without CMLL being aware, but it’s better than doing nothing.

2) Cancerbero, Raziel, Sangre Azteca b Robin, Sensei, Starman
Rudos took 1/3, keeping the incredible success of Cancerbero & Raziel going
3) Pólvora, Ripper, Sam Adonis b Flyer, Stuka Jr., Titán
Flyer replaced Johnny Idol. Rudos took 2/3,
4) Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto © b Negro Casas, Puma, Tiger [MEX TRIOS]
11th defense. Casas family attacked the champs before the photo. Champs rallied to take 2/3, the last with Mepshtio beating Negro Casas.
5) Carístico, Mistico, Niebla Roja DQ Cavernario, Euforia, Shocker
Euforia fouled Niebla Roja

Disappointing but not surprising outcome. Puma has a YouTube channel now, maybe the match might turn up on there.

CMLL Friday night shows have return to Azteca (America). They’ve taken back the Lucha Azteca spot, which aired the matches up until September last year. It’s actually even better than it was before, because they had slipped to being a month behind when they aired and now are only about eight days back, the previous Friday’s show. There were rumors of this for about a week, but it wasn’t clear which Azteca station was getting it. It appears to only be Azteca in the US right now, and not Azteca in Mexico (which would obviously mean a lot more.)

Elite is the show being replaced here, and it’s unlikely we’ll hear any more about Elite outside of many their title belts floating around the indies. The promotion hasn’t existed in any meaningful way since the December tapings, and closed up their office some time back. They were really done by the time CMLL broke with them, and there was never at time it seemed to be going great for them – ok, maybe, but they gave themselves a tough task (running odd days shows at Arena Mexico when there’s already so many) and even being on Azteca7 didn’t seem to help them all that much. The good sign here is at least the US Azteca station liked lucha enough to bring back the CMLL show. There’s no guarantee the Mexico station will feel the same with having the sort of control of production that CMLL’s unlikely to give to them.

The Crash says they raised what they need for Nicho’s surgery and more with their show on Friday and it’s just now up to the doctors to set a date. They also announced the June 23 show will have an apuesta cage match and Lio Rush will debut.

Black Terry Jr. has photos from The Crash show on Saturday in Tijuana and the Arena Lopez Mateos show from Saturday. I’ll write about that show in more detail, as well as DTU, AAA and the shows I actually went to tomorrow.

This was a good show to skip, though the random Vangellys angle was amusing. I wonder if Vangellys is still supposed to be a member of TGR now, or if he was out anyway with Shocker finally returning.

The Crash (FRI) 06/02/2017 Auditorio de Tijuana, Tijuana, Baja California [126f, Lo Mejor de Lucha, The Crash]
1) Arkángel Divino © b Látigo [The Crash JUNIOR]
First defense.
2) Oráculo b Black Danger, Jonathan, Black Boy, Último Maldito
Oráculo beat Black Danger to continue their feud. Mask match challenges
3) Rey Horus b Flamita © [The Crash CRUISER]
Horus defeated Flamita to end his title reign. Flamita falls on fourth defense. Horuz won the title shot on the last The Crash show and is the 6th Champion (Fenix, Angel Metalico, Pentagon Jr., Bestia, Flamita?)
4) Jack Evans & Zorro b Bestia 666 & Hijo de Pirata Morgan
Jack & Bestia made hair/extreme match challenges.
5) Penta Zero M & The King b Black Terry & Skayde
Maximo & La Mascara attacked Penta & The King after the match, taking their masks. A match was set up between the two teams for The Crash show in late June.
6) Daga, Garza Jr., Rey Mysterio 619 b Damián 666, Mr. Águila, Nicho el Millionario
This show was a benefit show to raise money for Nicho’s operation, which will leave him out 8 months to a year. Maximo & La Mascara ran in after this match as well with a third masked man, working with FdT and against the Rebelion. The masked man and the FdT attacked the Alvarados, and the masked man revealed himself to be X-Fly. Cage match challenges followed, and the Alvarados said they’d be back with more people.

LA Park, Rush & Pierroth sent in autographed shirts as part of the merchandise they were selling to help out Nicho. I haven’t seen much of the show, but it sounds like Flamita/Horus was really good. 126f being there means there should at least be clips on their channel and hopefully more.

It certainly comes off as if The Crash is setting up a big show soon- maybe the June 23rd show? Hopefully they’re not doing in the usual lucha way of doing all the big matches on one show causing them all to mean much. I don’t know that, say, Oraculo/Black Danger is going to be a big deal on it’s own, but it’s also not going to help either guy become more valuable if it’s the second match on a six match card. Or, I guess this could all be a terrible lucha libre cage match.

La Mascara & Maximo are using those names. The Crash has gone with whatever name Pentagon & Fenix are calling themselves that day, so I would suspect CMLL has not threatened those guys over the usage yet.

Rayo de Jalisco Jr. won the main event on the RCH show, exchanging fouls with Cibernetico. Attendance didn’t seem as strong as other indie shows there. The undercard set up a Freelance/Eterno/Demus? vs Indystructibles/Indy Nation feud.

Coliseo tonight has Niebla Roja, Atlantis and Marco Corleone versus Ephesto, Mephisto and Rey Bucanero. AULL has one of their 50th Anniversary shows with Dr. Wagner vs Blue Demon. Arena Neza has Caristico & Negro Casas vs Ultimo Guerrero & Mr. Niebla. DTU continues in San Luis Potosi. AAA has a show in Cuautitlan, including a three way tag title match where none of the people involved are currently the tag champions. There’s a usual indy show in Gimnasio Hercules.

Sunday is a rare day with three CMLL arenas in use at the same time. Two of them are indie shows. There’s the Lucha Memes show in Arena Puebla, and the Leyendas Inmortales show in Guadalajara. The CMLL show in Arena Mexico has the Hijos del Infierno versus Dinastia Casas trios title match, where a title change is not expected. La Mascara, in his post-CMLL life, is wrestling in LA for UIPW.  IWRG has an Imposible/Super Mega title match, a battle of Naucalpan standouts from different generations who haven’t worked much elsewhere. Dick Togo wrestles in Coacalco. AAA has some sort of Verano de Escandalo in Juarez.

AAA will air the first half of the Arena Aficion show today. They released a vignette with Australian Suicide being weird.

Lucha Underground also put out a Kobra Moon promo. The Reptile Tribe is challenging for the trios titles this week or relatively soon.

There will be a lucha libre expo in Pachuca on June 17 & 18. Villano III & Brazo de Plata will be honored.

Monclova luchador Francisco “el Diablo” Lopez passed away. They held a wake for him at Arena Coliseo Monclova before taking him to the cemetery.

LuchaWorld has the latest news update.

Fuego en el Ring has their lastest podcast.

Reina Isis is headed back to Japan for Reina on 06/18.

Lineups

CMLL (FRI) 06/09/2017 Arena México

2) Estrellita, Marcela, Princesa Sugehit vs Amapola, Dalys, Zeuxis
3) Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Misterioso Jr. [lightning]
4) Atlantis, Dragón Lee, Mistico vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero
5) Carístico & Soberano Jr. vs Mephisto & Raziel and Flyer & Volador Jr. and Canelo Casas & Negro Casas and Drone & Niebla Roja and Astral & Valiente and Ángel de Oro & Oro Jr. and Akuma & Pierroth [Gran Alternativa, battle royal]
6) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, 8f]
7) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, 8f]
8) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, 8f]
9) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, 8f]
10) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, quarterfinal]
11) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, quarterfinal]
12) ? & ?? vs ??? & ???? [Gran Alternativa, semifinal]

Caristico & Soberano would normally be the favorite, only it’d be weird to have two straight rookie finals with the same people in it and Caristico can’t win the big one now. Drone & Niebla Roja would continue the UG/Roja feud, and Angel de Oro & Oro Jr. could work that same way. Volador & Flyer seem to have an outside shot too.

First two matches might not be good, three and four look better, and they’re going to be rushed again on time.
