After the match, a bunch of masked men representing the old X-LAW promotion ran in. Halloween was on their side. Two unmasked as Gio & Junior (Los Malkriados) while the rest remained masked.
SuperLuchas covered the XLAW Invasion – XLAW was founded by SuperLucha’s Editor-in-Chief Ernesto Ocampo. XLAW, a super indie type promotion before there were those in Mexico, was founded in 2001. It’s last show was in 2010. It is strange to me to do an invasion angle based on a promotion which hasn’t existed in seven years and was never a big enough part of the landscape that people were demanding it’s return. On the other hand, DTU hasn’t seemed to had any storylines this entire year so beggers can’t be choosers – if they didn’t do anything at all, I probably wouldn’t be spending this much space on the show.
+LuchaTV actually live streamed the invasion on Facebook. That’s the kind of smart thing promotions need to be doing to get buzz, especially when this angle is going to impact the next several they’re running. (The Crash should’ve been livestreaming the La Mascara/Maximo run-in.) Still, if you can live stream parts of shows, it feels like it shouldn’t be six months and counting between seeing an actual DTU show.
DTU runs in Aguascalientes tonight.
I don’t know what the deal is with AAA & Ricky Marvin. It certainly seemed like they wrote him on Friday, but Ricky worked AAA show in Veracruz the next day with no mention of anything being wrong. Saying that AAA TV doesn’t make a lot of sense is obvious right now, but avoiding mentioning Marvin by name and turning Pirata Morgan doesn’t make sense if he’s just going to keep being on shows. Maybe there’s a backstage skit which hasn’t yet been explained which will make some sense of this.
Ultimo Guerrero & Terrible will face Matt Taven & Vinny Marseglia on ROH’s 06/23 PPV. They’re building off the Taven/UG match in CMLL. ROH says Taven taunted UG by using his finish on TV; no one watching TV seems to have seen this (Taven hasn’t been on TV in a few weeks.) I’d assume the Taven/UG singles rematch takes place on the following day’s TV show. If this is Taven & one of his faction partners against Ultimo Guerrero, it’s odd Euforia or Gran Guerrero isn’t going.
On today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said Impact was looking for a “good Mexican team” to face LAX for their tag team titles at their 07/02 PPV. Previously, Konnan had said LAX would not interact with AAA wrestlers at all. Impact did says there would be AAA wrestlers on this show somewhere. Most of the Crash wrestlers are under LU deals. Mascara & Maximo may be free to work, but who knows if/what will happen with them between now and July.
To the surprise of few, neither Dragon Lee or Volador Jr. advanced to the final of the Best of Super Junior. Both were alive until the last day, Volador to the last match, but Kushida was able to get back a win over him after Volador beat Kushida in Mexico twice last year. Volador & Dragon Lee will finish up with non tournament matches on NJPW’s June 3rd show.
Zona Ruda had Poder del Norte as guests. Is anyone watching this show? I don’t make time for it and I have no idea if it’s worthwhile.
LuchaTalk talks about AAA’s award winning year.
TKD & CultIcon have reviews of last night’s Lucha Underground. Segunda Caida picks up their own Lucha Underground reviews with episode 12 (the one where Sexy Star loses the title.)
There was a press conference for Lucha Memes’ Ultimo Dragon show on Sunday in Arena Puebla.
Drago & Aerostar are in Minnesota this Saturday.
GALLI announced Penta 0M vs Gringo Loco vs Billy Star vs ??? for their GALLIMania show on Sunday.
Yoshi Tatsu’s face turns up on a poster for Arena Rey Bucanero next weekend. I’m going to live in denial and hope it’s a mistake, but Okumura did say yesterday that someone from NJPW was coming to CMLL soon.
Zacatecas based promotions Big Bear (AAA) & WNGRI are going to work together on shows starting in July. Neither seems to be all that active but they might be able to run more shows pooling efforts.

Full card for GALLI’s 10th Anniversary card with Penta, Aeroboy and Guerrero Maya as guests. There’s no hint about the mystery guy in the main event and I know staggering little, but DJ Z did show up on their last show to do a dive and that’s the kind of match you’d like to see him in if he was healthy. Maybe they have someone else planned, maybe they’re just waiting to see how he’s feeling that day. Rest of the card look good if very long.
