MDA Lucha Memes (SUN) 05/07/2017 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [+LuchaTV, LuchaMania Monterrey]
1) Mini Hator b Mini Difunto [Nuevo Leon MINI WELTER]
2) Hijo de LA Park b Galactar [US JUNIOR]
very good match. Park wants a mask versus hair.
3) Ángel de Oro b Rey Horuz
good match.
4) Caifan DQ Rey Escorpión (Elite)
Escorpion fouled Caifan
5) Dragón Lee (CMLL) b Xtreme Tiger
good match, Lee winning with his Dragon Bomb.
6) Octagón DQ Fuerza Guerrera
Fuerza fouled OCtagon, covered for three, and then the referee gave Octagon the win. The usual challenges followed.
7) Rush b Masada (Texas) [cage]
cage match was semifinal! They used weapons, though the referee would oddly try to take them away at times. Rush used the Rush Driver for the win.
8) LA Park © b Último Guerrero [XWW UNIVERSAL]
LA Park kicked out of all of UG’s big moves and a foul, LA Park got in his own foul for two, UG fouled Park again but Park surprised him with a casita for the win.
No full video has turned up yet, though LuchaMania is posting highlights and +Lucha was in the building as well. Good turnout out for this show.
CMLL (MON) 05/08/2017 Arena Puebla [CultIcon, Efekto, El Popular]
1) Meyer, Vega, Zaeta Roja b El Perverso, Fuerza Chicana, Rey Apocalipsis
tecnicos took 1/3
2) Lestat, Oro Jr., Star Jr. b Canelo Casas, Nitro, Toro Bill Jr.
Tecnicos took 2/3. Toro Bill was wearing a Dallas Cowboy themed outfit for no obvious reason (did he and Apocalipsis break up?)
3) El Gallito & Microman b El Perico Zakarías & Mije
Micro tecnicos remain undefeated in a one fall match
4) Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero b Ángel de Oro, Johnny Idol, Stuka Jr.
Guerreros took 1/3
5) Máximo Sexy, Mistico, Negro Casas b Diamante Azul, Ephesto, Mephisto [Relevos Increíbles]
straight fall for win for the Casas team. Negro Casas challenged Mephisto to a title match next week and ended up DQed (but is getting the match.)
Usual show outside the micro match. The micro match wasn’t quite as good as the Sunday one, but it was still entertaining. It didn’t draw as much, but it also didn’t have weeks of promotion that it was coming, they were just another name on the card. It’s almost like hyping things for an extended period of time, a thing CMLL mostly doesn’t bother to do, would actually help draw fans.
The big event at Arena Mexico today is not the lucha libre show. The Freedom Bar & Restaurant will be opened today, in an event for the press and the company to show off the new place to eat while watching a wrestling show. They’ve already held an event inside: Fray Tormenta appeared to bless the place with holy water. Friday will be the first day the restaurant will be open to the public, and the plan will be for it to be open every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday during shows.
I thought CMLL might load up their show tonight to take advantage of the occasion, but it’s a very normal Tuesday show instead. If you’ve missed the other dozen chances to see Niebla Roja not get along with his partners, you’re in luck: he “teams” with Gran & Ultimo Guerrero against Atlantic, Caristico and Mistico tonight. The middle matches have a better chance of turning out competitively: Blue Panther, Johnny Idol, and Rey Cometa take on Revolucionarios Bobby & Polvora and the caveman. Fuego, Pegasso & Stigma face Puma, Tiger and Disturbio in the fourth match, and The Panther meets Misterioso in tonight’s lightning match. The opening matches check off the usual subdivisions: a minis opener, a women’s segunda.
The show starts at 7:30pm on CMLL’s YouTube channel.
Hijo del Santo wants to run a big (free) show in Mexico City’s Zocalo on September 23 (Saturday), the date El Santo would’ve been 100 years. It would include the Mexico City debut of his son, Santo Jr., the old Todo x el Todos crew (Solitario, Blanco, Huracan Ramirez) and some younger luchadors to wrestle along his son (Bandido, Golden Magic, Laredo Kid.) It’s unclear if Santo’s gotten permission to run this show – there’s a lot of governmental hoops to jump thru to take over the historic open area in the center of the city even for just a day – but a show of this magnitude on that date has been his goal for his while. Santo’s still working on getting his Santo museum, and a Santo photograph walk will be open on July 8th.
Lucha Memes & MDA also announced a show on June 4th (Sunday) in Arena Puebla honoring Ultimo Dragon. It’s the first time they’ve run Arena Puebla; other shows in the arena have been run and the indie arena Arena Coliseo San Ramon.

Because every singles match CMLL does has to be a repeat, this main event is a random match they ran back in January.
Niebla Roja on the card and not teamed with the Guerreros! I’m sure that won’t end well anyway.
