Volador defeats a joke(r), CaraLucha, busy weekend of shows

I don’t even know

CMLL (FRI) 03/03/2017 Arena México [CMLL, ESTO, R de Rudo, thecubsfan]
1) Demus 3:16 & Pequeño Nitro b Fantasy & Último Dragóncito Fantasy & Último Dragóncito vs Demus 3:16 & Pequeño Nitro (posted by thecubsfan)

4) Ángel de Oro, Atlantis, Titán b Forastero, Máscara Año 2000, Sansón Ángel de Oro, Atlantis, Titán vs Forastero, Máscara Año 2000, Sansón (posted by thecubsfan)
18:49. Tecnicos took 2/3.
5) Diamante Azul, Máximo Sexy, Valiente b La Máscara, Pierroth, Rush Diamante Azul, Máximo Sexy, Valiente vs La Máscara, Pierroth, Rush (posted by thecubsfan)
8:45. Tecnicos took 2/3, the last when Azul blocked a Pierroth foul and fouled Pierroth himself. Los Ingobernables destroyed and unmasked him after the match just the same.
6) Volador Jr. b Yoshitatsu Volador Jr. vs Yoshitatsu (posted by thecubsfan)
12:05. Volador took 2/3 in a match where Yoshitatsu spent much of the match goofing around and trying to play an over the top heel character.

Tirantes story is he got a cramp. I think Tirantes thought Tatsu wasn’t going to bother to kick out, or La Mascara was on the very wrong side of the ring.

Yoshitastu said he would like to come back to CMLL and challenge Maximo for the heavyweight championship. Tatsu is essentially a comedy wrstlers at this point so maybe they could figure out something would work, but last night’s match was so bad that he really shouldn’t be allowed back. Problem is, if CMLL was concerned about having bad matches in big spots, we wouldn’t be getting Diamante Azul versus Pierroth.

Cara Lucha (FRI) 03/03/2017 Arena San Juan Pantitlan, Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, Estado de México [+LuchaTV, Black Terry Jr. (Flickr), Kronosport]
1) Astrolux & Torito Negro b Black Metal & Moria
2) Keira b Lady Maravilla, Chik Tormenta
Match was billed with a mystery person teaming with Tormenta. They weren’t there, so it became a three way instead.
3) Sky Man b Saturno [MUCHAS LUCHAS CHAMP]
said to be a great match
4) Glen Calavera & Jerry Calavera b Brian Villa & Willy Banderas and Corsario Negro & Drako and Crazy King & Makabre [super libre]
The Calavera brothers beat Crazy King & Makabre to win after the other teams were eliminated. The Neza Kings attacked the Calaveras after the match.
5) Black Terry & Toxin b Demus 3:16 & Yoruba [Juventud y Gloria, semifinal]
Terry & Toxin face Ultimo Guerrero & Templario in the final.
6) Hijo de LA Park & LA Park b Black Tauro (Elite) & Daga
Park beat Daga after an exchange of low blows.

The reviews are really strong on Sky Man & Saturno (the former Quien Pinta por la Corona winner). Black Terry & Toxin vs Ultimo Guerrero & Templario sounds like a good tournament final.

Triton says he’s got his work visa for the US and will be headed back to Chicago. Not sure when he’s going. He’s booked in Mexico at least thru next Saturday.

+LuchaTV has posted both the Centvrion & Mr. Leon vs Metaleon & Latigo tag title match and Arez vs Belial vs Impulso complete from the last WMC show in Arena San Juan. I’ve heard the tag title match didn’t go particularly well, in part due to the ropes. I was thinking of the wrong week.

The big shows are later this month, but there are many lucha shows of note this weekend:

Saturday

Sunday

LuchaRama says they’re running on April 8th at FARO de Oriente in Mexico City.

Pro Wrestling Revolution is bringing Penta el Zero M to northern California.

Lineup

CMLL (FRI) 03/10/2017 Arena México
1) Fuego & Soberano Jr. vs Misterioso Jr. & Sagrado
2) Drone, Esfinge, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs El Cuatrero, Forastero, Sansón
3) Stuka Jr. vs Bobby Villa [lightning]
4) Atlantis, Marco Corleone, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Negro Casas, Sam Adonis
5) Dragón Lee, Mistico, Valiente vs Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero
6) Carístico, Diamante Azul, Máximo Sexy vs La Máscara, Pierroth, Rush

This is a better all around card than last week – Fuego & Soberano are luxuries for an opening match, Volador in a 4th match is odd – though they’re not doing much to build up anything for H2L outside the mask match. Matt Taven isn’t booked yet after all, and the Sky Team are facing the Guerreros. Main event is a rematch of this week’s semimain.
