indy (SAT) 12/17/2016 Arena San Juan Pantitlan, Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, Estado de México [Black Terry Jr. (Flickr), Estrellas dei Ring]

Soy Raymunda was the surprise luchador.
2) Fly Star & Toxin b Lunatik Extrem & Lunatik Fly
3) La Magnifica L La Heronia, Metálica (CMLL), Ludark Shaitan [hair]
Metalica & Ludark both were the surprise luchadoras, adding the hairs the other two were putting on the line. Heronia escaped first, followed by Metalica, and Ludark defeated Magnifica to take her hair.
4) Criss Boy b Ciclón Black [hair]
5) Akuma, Dragón Rojo Jr., Flyer b Herodes Jr., Magia Blanca, Veneno
Flyer and Magia Blanca switched sides.
6) Drako b Shadow [mask]
Shadow is Jorge Merino Valencia
This didn’t seem to draw well. The only people to figure out that doing a bunch of random apuesta won’t mean much are the people who run shows. (Or these shows are more for the luchadors themselves.)
Elite (SAT) 12/17/2016 Arena Lopez Mateos [+LuchaTV, R de Rudo, Superluchas]
1) Leviatham & Sádico b Alas De Plata & Mr. Leo
2) Eterno & Fresero Jr. b Emperador Azteca & Metaleón
Metaleon replaced Zumbi
3) Solar I b Rocky Santana
Money thrown in.
4) Ciclón Ramírez Jr. & El Bandido b Diamante & Imposible
Imposible wants a title shot against Bandido.
5) Decnnis, Mr. Águila, Zumbido b Argos, Dr. Karonte Jr., Fresero Jr.
Fresero Jr. replaced twice, replacing Veneno.
6) Flamita & Rey Escorpión b Golden Magic & Jack Evans
Rey Escorpion challenged Jack Evans to a hair match. Flamita left open the possibility of a permanent team with Rey Escorpion.
Building looks about half full. I think that’s actually good, given this just was a collection of random indie matches and the biggest names with the promotion weren’t on the show. It’s not that off from what they were doing with TV for TV tapings.
CMLL (SAT) 12/17/2016 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Camorra & Inquisidor b Bengala & Leono
Rudos took 1/3.
2) Magia Blanca, Sangre Imperial, Sensei b El Coyote, Grako, Hijo del Signo
Tecnicos took 1/3, Sensei winning with El Pipila on Signo.
3) Forastero, Puma, Tiger b Pegasso, Stigma, Tritón
Triton (first DF match since August 3rd; was in the US) & Stigma replaced Fuego & Oro Jr, Forastero replaced Skandalo.
4) Euforia, Mr. Niebla, Vangellys b Johnny Idol, Stuka Jr., Valiente
Mr. Niebla replaced Rey Bucanero. Johnny Idol replaced Maximo. Rudos took 1/3.
5) La Máscara © b Atlantis [CMLL LH]
Seconds were Grako and Atlantis Junior. Mascara took 1/3, the last by sneaking in a foul. First defense.
Atlantis Jr. appearing is more interesting than any match result here. CMLL didn’t make any special note of him outside that he happened to be there. Atlantis Jr. has appeared under the mask before, but only as a drummer for his band back in 2011. It’s possible he was just hanging out with dad and there’s nothing more to it, but CMLL didn’t say either way.
There’s no Coliseo show until (at least) 01/07.
CMLL (SUN) 12/18/2016 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Bengala & Sensei b Apocalipsis & Camorra

Rudos took 1/3
3) La Vaquerita, Marcela, Princesa Sugehit b Dalys, La Seductora, Metálica
Tecnicos took 1/3.
4) Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto b Ángel de Oro, Guerrero Maya Jr., Johnny Idol
Rudos took 1/3, Ephesto beating Maya again.
5) Marco Corleone, Valiente, Volador Jr. b Máscara Año 2000, Shocker, Terrible
tecnicos took 1/3.
Barring any major injury, this is a show everyone will quickly forget ever occurred.
Magia Blanca defeated Colapso in Cuernavaca to win their mask match. Colapso is Salvador Rodriguez Ruiz, 31 years old.
Zeuxis Watch 2016: Zeuxis noticed people were discussing her losing her mask and was confused. Zeuxis promised to be the first person out of the cage. I feel better. Zeuxis posted an inspirational message about not being afraid to start over. I feel worse. Zeuxis says she’s wearing a special Bane-themed outfit for the cage match. People who are losing a mask typically use the most well known version of their mask. I feel confused.
El Sol del Mexico talked to Super Porky about his health. He’s got a list of operations that he’s had or will be having that’s a paragraph long, and may keep him on out of the ring for maybe eight months. He had gastric balloon surgery, he needs work on his groin, his sciatic nerve, his shoulder, and then on his leg if he loses enough weight. After all that, he plans to come back to the ring “only for a year or two.” He’d like his farewell show to start with a singles match with Shocker or Negro Casas and then end with a singles match with Ultimo Guerrero.
This article is already over a week old, but a CableFax interview with El Rey GM Daniel Tibbets comes close to confirming to Season 4 of Lucha Undergound in an interview about the network’s plans. The bigger idea is he feels the network identity is working and they want to commit to more programming along the lines of Lucha Underground and From Dusk Till Dawn (and presumably less reality shows about barber shops.) LU is specifically mentioned in the 2017 plans, pushed as the strongest brand identity on the show, above the network founder’s own show. My hunch has been LU will be safe on El Rey as long as El Rey is committed to it’s current identity, and it sounds like they’re happy with their current direction. (Conversely, they’re not about to sell off the show to another network if it’s the channel’s identity.)
AAA posted this week’s TV on YouTube. They have matches from Star Battle and brief interviews with Drago, Daga and Psycho Clown.
Rey Mysterio & Alberto are being advertised in Xalapa for February. This looks like an indie show and not an AAA show because there’s no logo, but it’s tough to tell.
LuchaWorld has the latest Lucha Report.
CultIcon writes about the new members of the Snake Tribe.
Box Y Lucha #3264 has the two CMLL apuesta matches on the cover. Noticabely, they find Maximo versus unnamed challenger is more interesting than Maximo versus Mascara 2000. No one plays more to 80s/90s lucha nostalgia than Box Y Lucha and even they’re not excited for Mascara 2000.
Lineups
CMLL (SUN) 12/25/2016 Arena México
1) Astral & Shockercito vs Pequeño Olímpico & Pierrothito
2) Drone, Johnny Idol, Star Jr. vs Boby Z, Vangellys, Virus
3) Stuka Jr., Titán, Valiente vs Gran Guerrero, Rey Bucanero, Terrible

5) La Jarochita vs Sanely, La Vaquerita, Princesa Sugehit, Marcela, Estrellita, Zeuxis, Dalys, Amapola, Metálica [cage, mask, hair]
You’ve already seen this card, but the Sunday Arena Mexico card usually gets put here so why not. Again, there’s no real reason Jarochita or Vaquerita or Metalica or Amapola can’t lose this too. CMLL still hasn’t officially said this will stream, but it must be if it’s streaming on NJPW World (and there were some people involved who thought they were streaming starting this Sunday.)
