CMLL Martes de Nuevo Valores: 2016-11-15

Recapped: 11/20/2016

What happened:  Mephisto beat everyone, Volador included, in a joke of a main event. That sets up a title match next week. Drako and Magia Blanca made a streaming show and didn’t look good.

What was good: The fourth match was good, but don’t waste your time with the rest of this (and even that’s a stretch.)

Where can I watch it: It’s on CMLL’s channel.

Match 3: Pegasso vs Disturbio in a lightning match

Arena México, 11/15/2016
Video: Princesa DoradaPrincesa DoradaVideosOficialesCMLL

Winner: Pegasso (450 splash)
Match Time: 8:51

Review: [ok] this took four and half minutes to get going, which is not an ideal situation for a lightning match. It did get going and was more exciting during the later stretch, though they didn’t have any time for Disturbio to come close to a win. He seemed to be the better guy most of the match, but this was not an memorable match.

well, Hombre Bala isn't around to do this any more so

Match 4: Soberano Jr., Star Jr., Stigma vs Misterioso Jr., Okumura, Sagrado

    • Sagrado Storm Soberano (4:31)

Winner: rudos (2/3)
Match Time: 12:58

Review: [good] fun match, with the técnicos working well in the higher the usual position. Soberano’s rope walk diving headscissors is insane, and Star Jr. looked good too. These is maybe the right level of people for Stigma to team with, but it does expose him as not being quite as good as his fellow técnicos. Sagrado was the best guy in the match, with impactful looking moves and great timing with the técnicos. He’s been really good of late and ought to be getting more to do.

Match 5: Ángel de Oro, Johnny Idol, Rey Cometa vs Olímpico, Ripper, Vangellys

    • Ripper senton Johnny Idol (3:02)

Winner: rudos (1/3)
Match Time: 9:32

Review: [ok] I dunno. The result is dispirting, Olímpico shouldn’t be beating anyone with value in 2016. On the other hand, the rudos were moving much better and faster than usual. Maybe it’s because they weren’t going as long, but this was more watchable that I would’ve figured. I probably would’ve been more upset if I watched this live and wasn’t already prepared for the result, but mostly I was left thinking it wasn’t anything special but it could be much worse (the default Tuesday feeling.) Angel de Oro blowing his dive and then playing it off like it was a fake out was really funny.

  1. rudos
    • Mephisto powerbomb Mistico (1:49)
  2. rudos
    • Mephisto Devil’s Wings Titan (3:01)
    • Mephisto Super Devil’s Wings Volador Jr. (3:25)

Winner: rudos (1/2)
Match Time: 5:14
Notes: Mephisto challenged Volador to a title shot next week, which Volador accepted.

Review: [below average] now THIS was a rushed nothing happening match. Like the Pólvora match on Monday, the booking makes sense but this was fraud as a main event. There was even less going on here even given it was only five minutes, and you went home disappointed if you came to see any of these guys. This is a joke.
