CMLL (SUN) 11/13/2016 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Domingos Familiares]
1) Quca b Avispón Negro Jr.
Rudos took 2/3.
2) Destello & Destructor b Black Sugar & Javier Cruz Jr.
Tecnicos took 2/3.
3) Reycko, Sky Kid, Smaker b Linterna, Mr. Brisa, Puma Negro
tecnicos took 2/3.
4) Gallo & Omar Brunetti DCOR Pitbull I & Pitbull II
tecnicos took 1, Pitbulls took 2, both teams fought on the floor for the countout. Neither team was happy with the result.
5) León Blanco, Maléfico, Ráfaga b Flash II, Neutrón, Star Black
Rudos took 1/3, the last when new rudo Leon Blanco took Neutron’s mask.
Main event confirms they’re doing a Neutron/Leon Blanco feud, which is more a toss up for the finish than usual.
CMLL (MON) 11/14/2016 Arena Puebla [+LuchaTV, Culticon, El Popular]
1) Fuerza Chicana & Guerrero Espacial b Meyer & Millenium
2) Cancerbero & Raziel b Black Tiger & Tigre Rojo Jr.
3) Mini Joker b Astral, Astro, Shockercito, Último Dragóncito, Vega, Demus 3:16, Espíritu Maligno, Pequeño Nitro, Saurón [cibernetico]
Mini Joker beat Astral to win. Said to be a very good match.
4) Gran Guerrero, Hechicero, Pólvora b Dragón Lee, Máximo Sexy, Valiente
Straight falls, setting up Polvora/Dragon Lee
5) Atlantis, Rush, Último Guerrero b Cavernario, Negro Casas, Volador Jr. [Relevos Increíbles]
double atlantida ended it
I didn’t watch the show live, but the cibernetico sounds like it went well. It also should set up a Mini Joker/Astral match, but they both have the week off. Better off waiting until after the bodybuilding contest to do it anyway. Polvora & Dragon Lee have been in the same match for three week but not really feuding until this week.
Rush has no known bookings in Mexico in the immediate future; there’s one a month from now (keep reading) but it’s a few days after NJPW’s next tour wraps so it’s not good for us. Not being booked for a week in CMLL could just be CMLL being weird or a vacation. Dinastia Munoz, Rush’s family is promoting a show in Tala on 11/26. They did one last year, the entire family was on it. This year, the entire family is on it, except Rush. Rush is never missing that show if he’s in Mexico.
He’s not going to be in Mexico. I heard a while back that Rush would be in NJPW’s World Tag League. I haven’t gotten it confirmed and expected NJPW would’ve just announced it already, but disappearing from lineups is solid evidence, and missing the Tala show makes it certain. Rush will be Naito’s X on the 18th, the tour goes until 12/10, and we’ll see him back in Mexico sometime around the 12/12 Puebla show.
XMW (SAT) 11/12/2016 Arena XMW, Ecatepec, Estado de México [+LuchaTV, Black Terry Jr. (Flickr), Estrellas del Ring, The Gladiatores]
1) Maldad & Poseidón b Fulgor I & Fulgor II
2) Poseidón, Toxin, Yoruba b Douki, Orión, Taylor Wolf
Poseidon replaced Wasson
3) Belial b Arez, Kronoz, Torny, Fly Metalik, Obscuro
4) Mike Segura b Látigo, Fly Warrior
Mike Segura replaced Rey Cometa.
5) Metaleón b Centvrión
Centvrion replaced Tiger. Said to be a great match.
6) LA Park b Wotan, Fly Star
Crazy match. Fly Star was hit with a chair on a dive, which led to his elimination. LA Park beat Wotan.
Photos and video make this look like a wild show and well attended one. XMW has had problems finding a regular venue, maybe they have one now if this is their arena. Centvrion’s name doesn’t show up as much these days – this fill-in date was only his fourth match in two months – but he seems to be part of good matches when he’s out there and still doesn’t get booked much. Maybe he’s working under another name too or has something else going on.
DTU (SUN) 11/13/2016 Autolavado VM, Tulancingo, Hidalgo [+LuchaTV, DTU]
1) Lokillo b Vengadorcito Radioactivo, Star Shocker, Genex, Sokar, X-Boy, Centella De La Muerte, Luigi, Hardy Boy, Lujuria, Dabubio Jr., El Chato
2) Águila Mágico & Toto Porrito b Angelito Mágico & Flayer Boy
All seminar trainees.
3) Ángel o Demonio, Ovett, Thor b Exótico, Santy Hernández, Tony Iron
Thor & Santy were seminar trainees. Good match. Porros challenged Tony Iron & Rey Infierno (who are going by Los Primos Infierno)
4) El Junior & Gio b Ángelus & Ángelus Fly and Anarquía & Suspect
good match
5) Crazy King, Hijo Del Mosco De La Merced, Hormiga b Black Fire, Dragón Fly, Paranoiko
Hijo del Mosco & Dragon Fly were from the seminar. Hormiga beat Black Fire again, and Black Fire agreed to a title match.
6) Jimmy, Kevin, Kid Cometa b Drastik Boy, Hades, Ronnie Mendoza
very good match
7) Flamita b Niño De Cobre, Steel Dragón
Good match.
8) Camuflaje, Cíclope, Satánico b Crazy Boy, Negro Navarro, Tiburón
Satanico snuck in a foul on Crazy Boy.
Tiburon (Veracruz) and Camuflaje (Mexico State) also won a trip to Cancun to wrestle for the TWS promotion sometime in 2017.
Nino de Cobre is an AAA regular who seems to be doing well there of late. He’s popped up on AAA spots shows a little bit too.
Toryumon Mexico (SUN) 11/13/2016 Gimnasio Cuauhtemoc, Domo del Deportivo Plan Sexenal, Miguel Hidalgo, Distrito Federal [Estrellas del Ring, SuperLuchas, The Gladiatores]
1) Fireman & K-Fu b Makiavelico & Strom Man
2) Íkaro & Pequeño Olímpico b Eléctrico & Sonic
3) Argos, Daisuke Hanaoka, Douki b Black Silver Jr., Hijo Del Black Silver, Spartaco
Silver Stars (Monterrey?) were listed but it turned out to be Black Silvers (Acapulco) instead.
4) Fiero, Ludwig Star, Súper Ciudadano b Arkángel de la Muerte, Patán, Skándalo
Fiero replaced Robin.
5) Rey Bucanero b Último Dragón [super libre]
Made a super libre match. Sam Adonis accompanied Rey Bucanero and thanked the fans for their support and talked about going next to build the wall. They hit Dragon with the Trump flag, and Bucanero took fall 1. Dragon took fall two, despite Adonis involved. Douki and Hanaoka ran seemingly to even the odds, but actually betrayed Ultimo Dragon to give Bucanero the win.
Ultimo Dragon loses more often on these shows than I’d think, though usually not with three people and a flag pole being involved. That’s the last Toryumon Mexico show of the year, and they’ll probably turn up again in March.
Lucha Memes announced Ultimo Guerrero is off of the Chairo 6 card. They held a Facebook poll for a replacement CMLL luchador, and Felino beat out Blue Panther and Gran Guerrero. I wouldn’t have guessed Felino winning, but it wasn’t even close.
Tonight’s CMLL show has Mistico, Titan and Volador Jr. versus Ephesto, Luciferno and Mephisto. They didn’t set up an angle last week (Dinamitas unmasked Blue Panther Jr., but neither are around.) They just did a trios title defense, so it’s possibly a singles title match – if it’s any match at all. (Mephisto is double champion for no real reason, and Mistico might as well have a title for Japan, so maybe.) Match should be good even if they’re doing not much.
Semimain might has Olimpico, Ripper, and Vangellys versus Angel de Oro, Johnny Idol and Rey Cometa. Olimpico was wrestling in his mask on Sunday for no particular reason. Soberano, Star and Stigma make it up to the fourth match to face Misterioso, Okumura and Sagrado. The lightning match is Pegasso & Disturbio. The second match is Robin, Metatron and Magia Blanca vs Grako, Metalico and Nitro; it’s Magia Blanca’s first CMLL match since the March Gran Alternativa, and Grako’s first streaming appearance. The opener is a Acerno & Aereo versus Mercurio & Pequeno Olimpico.
CultIcon previews the show. The show will air at 7:30pm.
There’s been no injury update on Espanto Jr., but he’s been taken off Sunday’s card and replaced by Artillero. Also, a lightning match with The Panther and Okumura was added to Friday’s card.
Negro Casas and Principe Arandu had their singles rematch in Tijuana, after the previous one turned into a triangle match with Maximo. This time, no one else got involved, and Arandu took falls 1/3, the last with a foul. In the finals of a relevos suicidas, Zaeta took Pitbull’s mask. Pitbull was announced as Ramón Leal Espinoza.
Crains Business NY has an article with Francisco Segundo, who claims to have been the biggest lucha libre star in the Dominican Republic before moving to New York, and starting the BWF there for lack of anything to do. He also goes with the wrestling been real, and the author somewhat goes with it. He’s charging trainees $100/month, which probably makes more than the shows.
LuchaWorld has the latest edition of the podcast and Poster-Mania.
Lucha Libre Boom on 12/14 in SLP has Rush & partner TBA versus LA Park & partner TBA.
A Joe Lider interview hypes his match in Juarez on 11/20.
Lineups
CMLL (MON) 11/21/2016 Arena Puebla
1) Centella Roja & El Hijo De Centella Roja vs Ares & El Malayo
2) Arkalis, Asturiano, París vs Fuerza Chicana, King Jaguar, Sombra Diabólika
3) Pegasso, Rey Samuray, Soberano Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Rey Apocalipsis, Toro Bill Jr.
4) Ángel de Oro, Rey Cometa, Titán vs Bobby Z, Kráneo, Okumura
5) Dragón Lee © vs Pólvora [CMLL SL]
third defense
6) Atlantis, Diamante Azul, Johnny Idol vs Hechicero, Shocker, Vangellys
Hechicero makes the main event, possibly has to wrestle Diamante Azul. Everything’s a tradeoff.
Dragon Lee faces Niebla Roja on Saturday and Polvora on Monday. Two singles matches in three nights after zero in two months. CMLL booking is quirky. Will Polvora’s title match magic come thru again?
Fourth match seems a safe bet to be good too.
All the local guys from last week except Fuerza Chicana are off this week, and there’s some new names coming thru. Sombra Diabolica (usually with a c) has been around Puebla since at least 2008, most often with Arena Coliseo San Ramon of late. Centella Roja appears to have two sons, both a Centella Roja Jr. & Hijo de Centella Roja. This one has been wrestling since the start of 2015.
