Recapped: 11/06/2016
What happened: OGT beat the Xinetez and beat up the Apaches.
What was good: I liked the middle trios match. It was a fun AAA trios match uncomplicated by being AAA storylines. They overpowered the other two matches.
Where can I watch it: It’s on AAA’s channel.
AAA Rewind looks back to Perro Aguayo Jr.’s last match on TV. At one point, Perro hits Fenix with a chair, and A
AA does their best to prevent Fenix from being seen.
Flashback to the Heroes Inmoratles oGT/Apaches match. The video package is not longer than the match, but it’s close.
Match 1: Faby Apache & Mary Apache vs La Hiedra & Mamba
Plaza de Toros Jorge Gutierrez, Tlahuelilpan, Hidalgo, 10/14/2016
Video: luchalibreaaatv, thecubsfan
Winner: Apaches (Faby Devil’s Wings Mamba)
Match Time: 8:18
Notes: There’s music – like, the kind you might hear at a fair or from an ice cream truck – playing during this match. It’s distracting! Tirantes is the referee and is more of a threat to the Apaches than either of their opponents. Tirantes distracts them after the match, setting up an OGT attack. The Apaches get beat up; their father is nowhere to be seen.
Review: [ok] this was fun in the way the Apaches squashes are amusing. Really, if the two options are “Apaches killing people” or “Apaches having a bad dramatic weapons brawl with OGT”, I’d be okay sticking to this. This was 95% Apaches, and that’s at least different from what you normally get in lucha libre. If you’re Mamba, do you prefer having the same match with Pimpi every night out, or being kicked in the face by these two every match? Probably not being kicked in the face but I leave everyone to make their choices. Mamba looks like she hates life in every match either way.
Recap of Daga/Australian Suicide.
Match 2: Argenis, Australian Suicide, Bengala vs Dizzy, Parka Negra, Súper Fly
Plaza de Toros Jorge Gutierrez, Tlahuelilpan, Hidalgo, 10/14/2016
Video: luchalibreaaatv, thecubsfan
Winner: rudos (Super Fly frog splash Argenis)
Match Time: 7:56
Notes: Suicide has his mask tucked into his pants, and is wearing a headband. They updated his picture already (and had one for Dizzy, which kind of astounded me.) Super Fly decided Suicide is too ugly and tries to put the mask back on. Rudo decided to beat up the técnicos after the match for no real reason
Review: [good] this was a perfectly fine midcard match, and this show doesn’t have usually give me those. The técnicos had a good run by the end, with the triple dive spot looking really good and Suicide’s series working well, and then Super Fly got a rare clean win. The Suicide/Fly sequence earlier didn’t go as well and the rudos weren’t interesting on offense, but this worked for what it was.
Noti AAA

– Daga celebrates his win. Suicide says he’ll still give 100%.
Match 3: Dark Cuervo, Dark Scoria, Zorro vs Averno, Chessman, Ricky Marvin
Plaza de Toros Jorge Gutierrez, Tlahuelilpan, Hidalgo, 10/14/2016
Video: luchalibreaaatv, thecubsfan
Winner: Xinetez (fouls on Cuervo & Scoria)
Match Time: 10:15
Notes: The Xinetez have pinfalls on Marvin and Chessman, Tirantes counts to two, and Averno is supposed to pull him out, but he pulls Tirantes too late and and then only slightly away from the pin. And then Zorro, aiming for Averno’s hand, I guess, hits Tirantes in the back of the leg with a cane. The spot looks quite bad, and is intended to distract Tirantes. Averno throws a chair in Zorro’s face, who reacts as if he’s died. Chessman fouls Escoria, Marvin does the same to Cuervo, and Tirantes counts the pins.
Averno noted his team’s very clean win, and challenged for a trios title match. Chessman dances around like an Indian at one point while Averno taunts the Apaches.
Review: [ok] What would the Xinetez be like if they were técnicos, a question literally no one has ever asked but this match tried to answer. It was weird. Zorro making a hot tag to Cuervo & Escoria at the same time was weird, but I guess it doesn’t matter because the Xinetez have mostly been stripped of any motivation themselves. It wasn’t that good before the finish, which was amateur hour by professionals. Averno’s promo seemed good and all, but OGT is quite the stable of guys who once were all quite great and now just have disappointing matches. This was not terrible, they tried some things, but I can’t imagine watching it twice.
