A no news show.
A press release on Cricket Wireless’ site mentions a Lucha Underground tour. There are three shows, Sunday 10/23 Phoenix, Sunday 10/30 Houston and Saturday 11/05 San Diego. (These are the same dates the WON has mentioned.) There’s no details on who exactly will be on those show, the start times, the venues, or how to get tickets. It’s part of a larger contest to win a trip to Los Angeles for a taping, though the rules page for the contest isn’t working.
Lucha Underground itself hasn’t mentioned this, but many of the talent saw the same mention of it I did and have started to hype it on their own social media. Everyone wants to know to get tickets, no one’s said how to get tickets. The press release went up on Friday, perhaps we’ll get more info on Monday.
If you’re close to those shows, my suggestion is to a Cricket Wireless Monday and see if they know anything about the contest or the ticket. There’s a good chance they’ll have no idea what you’re talking about, but there’s a slight chance they might be able to help you out. The reporting on this has said the tickets were going to be free, and it might just be a deal where you have to go in and look at some phones and they’ll give you a ticket for your time. It’s also possible this was just put up by accident and some deal didn’t get done – if LU isn’t pushing this by Monday night, something’s gone wrong.
Today’s show at Arena Naucalpan is a loaded Lucha Libre Boom show. The main event is scheduled to be Caristico vs Volador vs Titan vs Mascara Dorada, only Mascara Dorada has said multiple times he’s not working the show. Until yesterday, when a video of him saying he’ll be on the show turned up. On his new Gran Metalik Facebook page, he says he and the promoter worked it out. This show may air on AYM Monday night; most non-IWRG shows do not, but the last Lucha Libre Boom show at that building did.
It’s a busy day for Caristico, since he’s also listed as main eventing the Arena Mexico show. The event in Naucalpan will start at least 45 minutes (and probably more) after the CMLL one, so he should be able to make both. On the CMLL show, Caristico is supposed to team with Marco Corleone and Diamante Azul, only Azul is also listed on a card in Florida. That’s a less plausible double shot. The main event rudos are Ultimo Guerrero, La Mascara and Mr. Niebla, but Niebla is also listed in Coahuila. Someone didn’t do a great job of scheduling this week.
AAA posted this week’s TV show, covering the second half of Heroes Inmortales, including Daga versus Suicide. It does not include Johnny Mundo/Garza Junior. Apparently, Multimedios will be airing that match at some point (or maybe already did on a Noches de Futbol show and no one around knew it?), but may be uploaded onto AAA’s site soon.
Lucha Azteca (Mexico) aired a best of episode this week, since they didn’t tape anything (and apparently didn’t know they weren’t going to tape anything, or they would’ve saved some matches from last week.) They do have a taping next week.
Dr. Cerbero took Angel o Demonio’s hair in Arena Lopez Mateos.
Combates Americas mentioned they’re coming to Mexico City in January. With Alberto’s involvement, that’ll probably be a significant media story.
