CMLL hasn’t had a (super) lightweight championship for as long as the other time, and it’s been inactive or outside of Mexico for a large chunk of that time. Similar deal with the national lightweight title, which is now treated as a mini championship. Negro Casas has usually challenged for Welterweight titles since leaving the UWA in the early 90s. Negro Casas’ last known challenge for a lightweight championship is December 1984.

Last night’s CMLL Informa included strange but true tales of Pierroth’s parenting, and also snuck in an explaination of Super Porky’s situation. He has a femur injury, but can’t get the surgery until he loses weight, and is 2-3 weeks away from the doctors deciding if they can have that surgery. Maximo says they’ll be running a benefit show. It’s a sad situation for a guy who’s been a headliner for three decades needs a benefit show for a health issue. It also suggests that Porky was being put on shows so he could make enough money to pay for his medical bills, only someone would later decide he wasn’t medically clear to go out there. (It also means he might be wrestling on small shows, which are less likely to stop him from working.) LuchaWorld has a full recap of the show in today’s news update.
CMLL luchadors are doing autograph signing to promote the opening of the CMLL photogallerys at Liverpool stores across Mexico.
AAA’s annual pilgrimage was today. The group photo seems much smaller than usual; most of the main eventers aren’t there. Ludxor noted (complained) it was mandatory participation in some of his post-AAA interviews, and perhaps that’s been changed. Edit: or maybe that’s just an early photo, since I see newer photos of more people there.
AAA also officially announced their deal with Panini for an album of stickers. They say it’s available today at newspaper stands.
