What happened: Atlantis (over La Mascara) and Caristico (over Volador) picked up their first win in their first Liga Elite matches. LA Park & son, watching the show from the front row, got involved in the trios match and fought with Cibernetico. They’ll have a singles match next week, with LA Park added to the tournament as the 12 man.
What was good: The main event was the only match I really liked, a big spot exhibition. The LA Park angle is good, but you can skip the rest of the match.
Where can I watch it: It’s on YouTube and Azteca’s website.
Match 1: Atlantis vs La Máscara [Liga Elite]
Arena México, 04/06/2016
Video: thecubsfan, MisticieroTV
Winner: Atlantis (Atlantida)
Match Time: 5:44
Notes: Edgar stops Atlantis from punching at one point, which allows La Mascara to keep advantage but otherwise seemed like a normal referee. Atlantis runs thru Mascara’s stop sign, giving him a plancha.
Review: [ok] least interesting of all these matches so far. They didn’t have a lot of action, and Mascara seemed very careful with Atlantis at times. This was La Mascara establishing his persona, then losing a little anti-climatically. The mask ripping made it feel differently than a normal lightning match, but there wasn’t a lot more to it.
Match 2: Marco Corleone, Máximo Sexy, Toscano vs Cibernético, Mephisto, Sharlie Rockstar

- Marco Air Corleone Mephisto & Sharlie Rockster (5:25)
- Hell Brothers
- Cibernetico spear Marco Corleone (4:34)

- Marco Corleone inside cradle Rockstar (3:45)
- Toscano inside cradle Mephisto (3:45)
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:44
Notes: LA Park, Hijo del LA Park and a female companion of LA Park are shown entering Arena Mexico during this match. The Parks make sure to flash their ticket to their screen. The rudos are all wearing new Hell Brothers t-shirts. Announcers say Rockstar is a replacement for an injured Negro Casas. There are Senorita Cometa segments in between the falls in this match. LA Park appears to be in his set before the end of the first fall, but the rudos don’t notice him until a minute or so in the third fall. Cibernetico wandered over to them after the dives, the woman with the Parks heckled him, Cibernetico argued back, Hijo de LA Park told him to take it up with him and shoved Ciberentico. LA Park threw his drink at the rudos (and Hijo de LA Park takes another one to throw it. Cibernetico comes back over after second drink, shoves Park, ducks a Hijo del Park, and gets attack by both Parks. Tecnicos win during the fight.
LA Park comes in the ring to call the match boring, and says and critics the rudos. Cibernetico talks much longer, and eventually challenges LA Park.
Review: [ok] felt like a very nothing match, but maybe it was meant ot be that way since the angle totally over shadowed them. Still, – LA Park was right, what they were doing in the match wasn’t to so good. The dive train bit didn’t come across like planned, and the rudos control of the match was boring. The técnicos stuck to their usual things. Toscano seemed OK, though he didn’t have the charisma of his partners.
A video package of LA Park highlights – from the previous try at Liga Elite and TxT versus Dr. Wagner – is shown to announce him officially as the 12th luchador for the tournaments. Good thing he was bored, they’d be short a man if he just stayed home. (They also show Tinieblas Jr. but no one else in the TxT match; can’t figure out which show this was from.)
Senorita Cometa interviews Caristico, who figures out what she’s asking – or decides to just answer questions she might be asking.
Highlights of the first three matches are shown. Of note, Dragon Lee only gets 2 on his standing Spanish Fly on Argos, and Argos fouls him and hands his mask to Lee to draw the DQ win.
Match 3: Carístico vs Volador Jr. [Liga Elite]
Arena México, 04/06/2016
Video: MisticieroTV, thecubsfan
Winner: Caristico (La Mistica)
Match Time: 14:49
Notes: Volador attacks Carístico as he’s coming in the ring, and as fireworks are still going off. After the match, Carístico challenges Volador to a mask match. Volador rejects, saying he’s got a lot of hair, but Carístico’s got only a little mask (after Volador ripped it up earlier.)
Review: [great] the can you top this move exhibition it was expected to be, and maybe going farther than you’d expect o on a random Wednesday night. There was only the slightest twinge of a story, with Volador working more heel and trying to prove he was the #1 guy (maybe to his determinant), but this was more about all the highspots they could do until La Mistica. It was the highspot that ‘failed’, Mistico’s moonsault to the floor that countered into a kick which caused him to fly into the barricade which was the most memorable one as all. This felt like the big even it should’ve been with the background of these two guys. I would’ve liked more countering and less spot, pin, rest, but this was as good as they’re going to do under that style with nothing but points on the line.
