What happened: The main event trios title match didn’t happen. The match happened, it wasn’t a title match, and Sky Team won anyway. Rush & Ultimo Guerrero feuded in the main event.

What was good: The main event was good, though not the blow away match it seemed like it would be on paper. I liked the minis match and the incredible trios match was not bad, but most everything on this show underdelivered and it’s not something that felt like a good use of a couple hours.

Review: [below average] Disappointing. Zaeta Roja looked really good from the start, looking impressive in his mat wrestling and with a great suplex to win the second fall, but the rest of the match wasn’t really at his level. Malayo looked way off multiple times, and Black Tiger wasn’t doing a lot after he was dropped hard by Malayo in a first fall botch. The last two falls seemed short, maybe for the same reason.

Match 2: Asturiano, Shockercito, Stukita vs Demus 3:16, Espíritu Maligno, Mini Joker

Review: [good] fun match by the end, though shaky at other times. Mini Joker gamely tried to go mat wrestling with Stukita early on, and lacked the ability to go with the energy. He seemed like the weak link the rest of the way, in his least successful performance her so far. Demus & Espíritu probably should avoid nearly killing Shockercito in the future, but Demus was contributing more (and taking away less) than usual. Double dive before the finish looked great.

Match 3: Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Súper Porky vs Kráneo, Olímpico, Ripper

Review: [below average] Porky is back, looking slower than ever. And he wasn’t as over too, with the crowd seemingly losing some steam at seeing Porky in such bad shape. Angel de Oro looking way off didn’t help things, not that this match was ever going to be salvageable. This was not good. A waste of time.

Match 4: La Máscara, Rush, Terrible vs Atlantis, Máximo Sexy, Último Guerrero in a relevos increíbles match

Notes: Ultimo Guerrero had La Mascara down after the front superplex, but Terrible pulled out the referee. Rush ran in to foul UG, but UG got him first. Referee disqualified Ultimo Guerrero for the foul.

Review: [OK] They’re clearly headed to Rush & Ultimo Guerrero. Rush must really be a rudo if UG’s feuding with him. UG did look super energetic for this match to brawl with Rush. Terrible looked better than usual too on the Ingobernable team, or at doing less of the usual routines. Finish was silly.

Match 5: Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr. © vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Rey Escorpión for the CMLL World Trios Championship

Notes: This was advertised as a trios title match, but turns out not to be one for no clear reason. Tecnicos enter with the belts and the rudos attack them, either to distract from the change or because they were still in the hurry. The match took place still had the expected outcome, though much shorter than a title match would be expected to last, and on a short show.

Review: [good] Last week’s match was easily better and this was hurt in context by the total lack of an explanation of what was going on. (It didn’t seem like the announcers were even totally sure.) It’s even weirder seeing as they could’ve done the same exact finish with the titles on the line. If all of that could be put aside, it was an exciting enough sprint with a few fun spots, though I didn’t totally grasp how short it was until finishing the recap. Mistico really is going to do that dive all the time now, and somehow landed on his feet after it. (His new bird/dragon? robe looked nice too.) They were wrestling this like they had some place else to be though.
