IWRG (SUN) 02/28/2016 Arena Naucalpan [IWRG]
1) Galaxy & Kanon b Acero & Power Bull
2) Dragón Fly & Freyser b Nimrod (Costa Rica) & Picudo Jr.
Nimrod’s debut. He’s the Costa Rican luchador of the same name (and seemingly not the Nimrod who was here a couple years ago.)
3) Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Eterno b Danny Casas, Diablo Jr. I, El Hijo del Diablo
Eterno replaced Negro Navarro
4) Mr. Águila, Trauma I, Trauma II b Negro Navarro, Súper Nova, Veneno
Negro Navarro replaced Dos Caras (who did not make it back from Puerto Rico in time.)
5) Heddi Karaoui b Solar I [IWRG IC MIDDLE]
First defense. Wasn’t listed as a title match, but ended up being one, and a one fall match. Second match of the night for the 59 year old Solar, who wrestled in Arena Mexico earlier.

I guess they forgot to list the title match on the poster? I dunno. 50 year old luchadors wrestling twice in one night seems like a bad idea in general.

Add to the list of well attended show this weekend: AAA’s show in Ciudad Juarez, which looks full or close to it.

Super Crazy talks about his big win, and Felino his big loss. The result makes a lot of sense in the big picture: if you’re going to do something where the indie guys are supposed to be on the same level as the CMLL ones, the indie guys need to get a big win. (At the same time, it shows Elite still is working with a decent amount of money if they’re able to give Felino a payoff big enough for a hair loss.) I still think they should’ve run this on the first Wednesday to get people to the new day, though I’d guess it probably drew better being on a Sunday.

Llaves y Candados has highlights of the Rush/Cibernetico/Konnan Big match. The finish is just Cibernetico & Rush beating up Konnan Big until the ref called a DQ (maybe for the shove too.) Just prior to that, Rush nails Konnan Big with a dropkick; Konnan Big says he has a fractured nose. He’s back

Caristico returns to Arena Puebla – in an actual match this time, not a surprise run-in as he did last week. Tonight’s main event is Atlantis, Caristico and Mistico taking on Euforia, Rey Bucanero, and Ultimo Guerrero. They’re probably not having a singles match next week – Princesa Sugehit and Zeuxis meet in a lightning match which seems more likely to set up a title match given Zeuxis’ impending absence – but the main event focus will be on UG & Caristico. Semimain has the fun trio of Dragon Lee, Stuka, Titan versus the sometimes fun Hijos del Infienro. Espiritu Maligno and Rey Samuray are in the segunda, but so is Arkangel.

The show starts at 9pm CT and will be streamted from CMLL.com and CMLL’s YouTube channel.

Segunda Caida reviews the Blue Panther & Negro Casas versus Solar & Black Terry match.

LuchaRama says they plan on presenting another marathon show on the last Sunday of December. If you look at a calendar, that’s December 25th, so I wonder if they’ve looked at a calendar. This weekend’s show was originally scheduled from December last year.

This week’s Box Y Lucha has bald Felino on the cover, which is a good turn around.

The Ciudad Juarez museum is hoping to open by the end of March.

Ayako Hamada thanks the fans for their support in her match against Marcela.
