Arena Neza, 12/05/2015
What happened: Nothing that you couldn’t have missed. Rey Mysterio was unable to wrestle in the main event, still got in a 619 before being helped to the back. That might be his last appearance in AAA; it definitely is for the time being. Blue Demon replaced Misterio and the tecnicos won a quick main event. The other two matches were unnoteworthy.
What was good: I liked the opener, but there’s nothing special on this show.
Where can I watch it: It’s on my channel and AAA’s channel.
Previously: Dinastia & Ludxor won, Suicide surprised Daga, and Cuervo/Escoria/Zorro got their first in.
Today: more matches. Rey’s shown in street clothes doing a promo, though they still give the impression that he’s wrestling.
There are promos for Guerra de Titanes airing next week through the show. Upcoming events has the first mention of 02/06 in Cuautitlan, and 02/19 in Queretaro
Match 1: Fireball & Neza Kid vs El Apache & Soul Rocker
Arena Neza, 12/05/2015
Video: thecubsfan, Lucha Libre AAA
Winner: tecnicos (Fireball Firefly Soul Rocker)
Match Time: 9:51
Notes: This Neza Kid appears to be Freelance. It appears to be the same Soul Rocker, but it’s been a year and a half since he made TV.
Review: [good] good opener, in which Flamita came off as very much overqualified. The Fireball name is so over that the crowd was loudly chanting “FLAMITA” when he tagged in. Soul Rocker worked well with him, though felt like we only got to see some of what he could do. Apache seemed to work more with Neza Kid, who a couple of iffy moments but also dove into the crowd a few times (which is about as Freelance as it gets.)
Match 2: Faby Apache & Goya Kong vs La Hiedra & Lady Shani
Arena Neza, 12/05/2015
Video: +LuchaTV, thecubsfan, Lucha Libre AAA
Winner: tecnicas (Goya Kong front slam Lady Hiedra)
Match Time: 10:59
Review: [ok] Match had some moments, but I just got bored at times during it. The stuff with Faby against the new girls had some promise and they looked good, the parts with Faby was more normal Goya stuff. Lady Shani’s Code Red on Goya Kong looked absurd, and not in a good absurd way. La Hiedra is starting to figure out a character. The character seems to be mostly Sexy Star, but it’s a start.
Noti AAA
– Pentagon Jr. got his hands in cement at the walk of fame
– AAA luchadors will be signing autographs at the lucha libre museum
– Faby Apache, Taya, Goya talk about the lumberjack match
– Texano Jr. talks about the other people in the heavyweight title match decider. This is the year of Texano.
The UTDN version reairs La Parka, Murder Clown, Monster Clown vs Zorro, Cuervo and Escoria.
Match 3: Blue Demon Jr., Fénix, Psycho Clown vs Averno, Brian Cage, Chessman
Arena Neza, 12/05/2015
Video: thecubsfan, Lucha Libre AAA
Winner: tecnicos (Fenix double springboard 450 splash Chessman)
Match Time: 5:24
Notes: Brian Cage is wearing a new Trump shirt. Rey does not enter thru the stairs as everywhere else, but tries to go thru a ground floor entrance since he’s on a crutch. He still gets mobbed. He’s not so hurt he can’t stand on the middle rope and take off his shirt, though the tecnicos do help him back down. Rey says he wants to wrestle, but the doctors won’t let him. Rey limps around without the crutch insisting that he wants to fight, but the tecnicos try to stop him. Averno insults the crowd, insults Mysterio, and gets slapped in the face. A brawl breaks out, with the rudos taking by far the worst of it. Averno boot chokes out Rey in the corner, then drags him around the ring to set up him up on the corner to take mask. Blue Demon Jr. comes thru the crowd to make the save, though the tecnicos have completely turned it around by then – Demon is left standing around waiting for Mysterio to land the 619 before he can hit anyone. Match seems to start here. Mysterio is helped to the back a minute or so later, just as mobbed on the way out.
Review: [ok] amazingly short match for a main event; I don’t think AAA’s had one this short with the ring being coated in the ring. I had to go back and check to see if Cage actually ever made it in the ring. Demon made it in the ring, did not look very good when he did. They had action while it went, but I can’t believe they only did a five minute match after not delivering Rey Mysterio. (The Mysterio angle did seem to go another five on it’s own.) Fenix’s finish looked nice, this had that. It didn’t have much more.
