What happened: Ultimo Guerrero fouled Caristico in the main event. Princesa Sugehit defeated Zeuxis clean. Both outcomes may set up singles matches.
What was good: Nothing. This was a boring show you can easily skip unless you’re nostalgic for Caristico & Ultimo Guerrero but only want to watch it in HD.
IWRG (SUN) 02/28/2016Arena Naucalpan [IWRG]
1) Galaxy & Kanon b Acero & Power Bull
2) Dragón Fly & Freyser b Nimrod (Costa Rica) & Picudo Jr. Nimrod’s debut. He’s the Costa Rican luchador of the same name (and seemingly not the Nimrod who was here a couple years ago.)
3) Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Eterno b Danny Casas, Diablo Jr. I, El Hijo del Diablo Eterno replaced Negro Navarro
4) Mr. Águila, Trauma I, Trauma II b Negro Navarro, Súper Nova, Veneno Negro Navarro replaced Dos Caras (who did not make it back from Puerto Rico in time.)
5) Heddi Karaoui b Solar I [IWRG IC MIDDLE] First defense. Wasn’t listed as a title match, but ended up being one, and a one fall match. Second match of the night for the 59 year old Solar, who wrestled in Arena Mexico earlier.
I guess they forgot to list the title match on the poster? I dunno. 50 year old luchadors wrestling twice in one night seems like a bad idea in general.
Super Crazy talks about his big win, and Felino his big loss. The result makes a lot of sense in the big picture: if you’re going to do something where the indie guys are supposed to be on the same level as the CMLL ones, the indie guys need to get a big win. (At the same time, it shows Elite still is working with a decent amount of money if they’re able to give Felino a payoff big enough for a hair loss.) I still think they should’ve run this on the first Wednesday to get people to the new day, though I’d guess it probably drew better being on a Sunday.
Caristico returns to Arena Puebla – in an actual match this time, not a surprise run-in as he did last week. Tonight’s main event is Atlantis, Caristico and Mistico taking on Euforia, Rey Bucanero, and Ultimo Guerrero. They’re probably not having a singles match next week – Princesa Sugehit and Zeuxis meet in a lightning match which seems more likely to set up a title match given Zeuxis’ impending absence – but the main event focus will be on UG & Caristico. Semimain has the fun trio of Dragon Lee, Stuka, Titan versus the sometimes fun Hijos del Infienro. Espiritu Maligno and Rey Samuray are in the segunda, but so is Arkangel.
The show starts at 9pm CT and will be streamted from CMLL.com and CMLL’s YouTube channel.
LuchaRama says they plan on presenting another marathon show on the last Sunday of December. If you look at a calendar, that’s December 25th, so I wonder if they’ve looked at a calendar. This weekend’s show was originally scheduled from December last year.
This week’s Box Y Lucha has bald Felino on the cover, which is a good turn around.
Ayako Hamada thanks the fans for their support in her match against Marcela.

6) Guerrero Maya Jr. & The Panther b Puma & Tiger [Arena Coliseo TAG] Tecnicos took 1/3 to retrain, with Maya beating Puma with Sacrifico Maya for the win. Second defense. Money thrown in.
7) Atlantis, Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada b Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero
The two match feud for the tag titles has been said to be very good. Maya & Panther being champions makes sense for the inevitable Fuijin/Rajin challenge.
It was a good weekend for crowds at shows. The Elite crowd seems better than usual. The Shocker/Pato Soria show drew well. Full results here, Estrellas del Ring has video of what turned out to be a three way main event. Arena Neza drew well for Perros defeating Psycho Clown in a cage (a trophy, no masks or hair on the line.) Arena Coliseo Monterrey drew well for Cibernetico vs Rush vs Konnan Big (with Konnan Big winning by DQ.) The LuchaRama show seems to have gone well – Black Terry Jr. has highlights of Centviron/Latigo versus Mr. Leo/Metaleon.
CMLL (FRI) 02/26/2016Arena México [CMLL, thecubsfan, Yahoo! Deportes]
1) Demus 3:16 & Pierrothito b Astral & Stukita 14:04. Rudos took 2/3.
2) Fujin, Raijin, Skándalo b Blue Panther Jr., The Panther, Tritón 15:48. Rudos took 2/3.
3) Ángel de Oro, Dragón Lee, Stuka Jr. b Boby Z, Kamaitachi, Okumura 14:29. Tecnicos took 2/3, including Dragon Lee beating Kamaitachi in the third fall.
4) Dalys b Marcela [lightning] 8:06. Dalys pinned Marcela while holding onto the ropes.
5) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas b Mistico, Súper Parka, Volador Jr. 5:52. Rudos took 2/3. Negro Casas gave Super Parka a martinete (or at least attempted to), Volador tried to do the same to Casas, Tirantes broke it up, and Volador attacked him for the DQ. Parka was strechered out (maybe out of CMLL for the time being) and Volador angirly vowed to get revenge on Casas. Super Crazy came out afterwards to go back and forth with Felino about their hair match on Sunday.
6) Marco Corleone, Máscara Dorada, Máximo Sexy DQ La Máscara, Rush, Vangellys 8:53. Tecnicos won in straight falls. Rush fouled Maximo in the first, then Maximo faked a foul in the second.
Third match was the best match on the show, though they tried to do a good job of building up the big Homenaje a Dos Leyendas matches on the rest of the show. The martinete spot looked poor.
Tonight’s Arena Coliseo show has Guerrero Maya Jr. & the Panther against Tiger & Puma for the Arena Coliseo Tag Team championship. Tiger & Puma talk about the match here. A title change is possible; maybe the biggest reason there wouldn’t be is Fuijin and Rajin are clearly getting a shot at some point.
The LuchaRama shows have started by the time you read this, but the show is a marathon so you’ll still have plenty of matches to check it out. The full scheduled card is here.
Pro Wrestling Revolution also has a $10 iPPV/$15 iPPV+VOD tonight at 9pm, with Silver King & Juventud Guerrera.
If Volador actually has a surprise, next week is probably the time for them to appear.
There was no announcement of Kamaitachi/Dragon Lee on last night’s show, but it’s nice to see it happening. Not sure Dragon Lee is winning it back; with all the matches building to Homenaje a Dos Leyendas last week, it’s possible the finish is more of the same.
Rey Escorpion is back, just in time to be Thunder’s replacement again.
What happened: Máximo outsmarted Rush in the main event to win in straight falls. Negro Casas gave Super Parka a tombstone (or tried to, anyway), and Volador attempted to do the same to Casas before it was broken out. Parka was stretchered out, and this came off as if it might be the last time we see him for a while. Both Dragon Lee and Dalys beat champions in what came off as the build up to title matches, but neither made challenges. The lineup given for next week suggested there isn’t a women’s title match planned (or they’re running two of them.)
What was good: Third match was the best match. I have a lot of stuff marked as OK, but it was all generally watchatble; the opener and the lightning matches are the ones most worth skipping.
Where can I watch it:The main event is on ClaroSports’ website (eventually, not yet.) I’ll have the show up Tuesday. It should air on Azteca on 03/26.
