Angelito is a little excited to finally get a match
Recapped: 01/26/2016, live show
What happened: Maximo beat Rey Bucanero, but Bucanero wanted a singles match with Maximo anyway. Maximo said OK. Notimex’s recap says it’s a title match, but the title didn’t seem to be mentioned in the ring. Maybe it was mentioned backstage?
What was good: I liked the minis more than most. Everything else wasn’t much good. This was not a promising start for Tuesday shows, which might be a show to skip unless there’s an obvious good match.
Where can I watch it: It’s on CMLL’s YouTube channel.
Match 1: Angelito & Stukita vs Pequeño Nitro & Pequeño Universo 2000

- tecnicos
- Stukita torpedo splash Pequeño Nitro (6:02)
- Angelito huracanrana Pequeño Universo (6:11)
- rudos
- Nitro top rope splash Stukita (3:44)
- Pequeño Universo senton Angelito (3:55)
- tecnicos
- Angeilto splash Pequeño Nitro (3:30)
- Stukita top rope moonsault (4:13)
Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:19
Review: [good] maybe over rating it because I liked Stukita and Angelito’s finishing minute, and Nitro & Stukita had a good exchange. They’re totally limited in what they can do in the opener, but they make as much as they can out of it. The mini depth is really strong right now, it’s really too bad CMLL doesn’t make more use of it.

Match 2: Princesa Sugehit, Marcela, Skadi vs Amapola, La Comandante, Tiffany
Arena México, 01/26/2016
- tecnicos
- Princesa Sugehit satellite armbar La Comandante (6:33)
- Marcela crab Tiffany (7:06)
- rudas
- Comandante running splash Marcela 2:29
- tecnicas
- Skadi missile dropkick Amapola (2:21)
Winner: tecnicas
Match Time: 11:56
Notes: Skadi replaced Estrellita (though the preview had Marcela out for Vaquerita as well.)
Review: [below average] This was a long six minute opening of Tiffany/Sugehit and Skadi/Comandante action. That wasn’t good. Marcela and Amapola were fine in their time but not nearly enough to make this interesting. This was more boring than bad, but Skadi continues to not look like she’s ready to have matches. Here dropkick hits really hard and that’s about it.

Match 3: Blue Panther Jr., Esfinge, Pegasso vs Disturbio, Nitro, Skandalo
Arena México, 01/26/2016
- tecnicos
- Pegasso 450 splash Disturbio (6:24)
- rudos
- Nitro top rope splash Esfinge (5:58)
- tecnicos

- Esfinge springboard splash to the back Disturbio (3:25)
Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:47
Notes: Nitro replaced Sangre Azteca
Review: [below average] I zoned out on this match early on, because it’s a pretty tedious crew. This was the expected forgettable match, except for Nitro not winning with a piledriver for the first time in what seemed like months. The tecnicos generally seemed to be trying, they’re not just not an interesting crew. I can’t tell fi the rudos are trying or not anymore.

Tope Pegasso
Match 4: Delta vs Felino in a lightning match
Arena México, 01/26/2016
Winner: Felino (superbomb)
Match Time: 4:24
Review: [below average] they didn’t much, they got done quick, and there wasn’t anything to this. A sub five minute lightning match isn’t really trying unless you do something exceptional, and this was definitely not exceptional. Finish at least came naturally, so that’s one positive.
this was a bad plan by Delta, who might want to wash his gear at some point
better than most of the matches
Match 5: Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Triton vs Gran Guerrero, Hechicero, Vangellys
Arena México, 01/26/2016
- rudos
- Angel de Oro half crab Vangellys (5:52)
- Hechicero conjuro Blue Panther (6:44)
- tecnicos
- Triton guillotine legdrop Gran Guerrero (4:53)
- rudos
- Gran Guerrero pulpo Guerrero Blue Panther (4:45)
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 16:22
Notes: Titan was listed as replacing Rey Cometa. They played Titan’s music, and Triton walked out.
Review: [ok] first match with life in what felt like an hour. It actually had a lot of life by the time the second fall rolled around, as the usual bits of the Blue Panther match fake outs and near falls helped make this more exciting than most of the matches on the show. Third fall felt like it took it down, with the rudos not really doing a lot interesting. Blue Panther is a good choice to be stuck in the ring because the fans like him, but his selling is not always great (and the spot setting up the double dropkick looked not good.) Finish came out of nowhere, intentionally so, but felt out of place with the rest of the watch.

Match 6: Atlantis, Máximo Sexy, Stuka Jr. vs Boby Z, Rey Bucanero, Terrible
Arena México, 01/26/2016
- rudos
- Rey Bucanero camel clutch Atlantis (5:54)
- tecnicos
- Stuka torpedo splash Terrible (2:32)
- tecnicos
- Atlantis inside cradle Bobby Z (5:03)
- Maximo casita Rey Bucanero (5:06)
Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:32
Notes: Bucanero claimed Maximo fouled him while applying the casita. It didn’t appear to be the case. Maximo still accepted a singles match with Bucanero for next week.
Review: [below average] I don’t know if I got the times right, because the first fall felt like it went forever without much happening. This was a low energy match, and it wasn’t just the guys who might still be suffering from jet lag. It got better in the third fall. This was still not good enough for a main event.
