Fantasma has had enough of karate flips

Recapped: 12/05/2015

What happened: Pentagon dropped Jack on his head again, and vowed to shave it after taking the title. Mini Abismo beat Dinastia and challenged for a title match (that he was already getting, but maybe he wanted to make sure.)

What was good: Everything was good. Nothing was super, but the main even was better than I thought it would be.

Where can I watch it: It’s on my channel and on AAA’s channel (though I seem to have messed up the links somehow.)

Match 1: Mini Abismo Negro & Mini Psycho Clown vs Dinastía & Octagoncito
Arena Xalapa, Xalapa, Veracruz, 11/06/2015

Winner: rudos (Mini Abismo Negro reverse figure four Dinastia)
Match Time: 7:20
Notes: Mini Abismo demands a title shot following his win. Dinastia accepts, and Mini Abismo says thank you with a head kick

Review: [good] Sloppy at times, with the usual bad editing making the bad spots look even more nitcable than they would on their own. Still a lot of fun to see Octagoncito and Dinastia as a team, and one of the better 2v2 minis matches AAA can do. Dinastia seemed to get the least time of the four but did well, and Octagoncito’s high spots with Mini Psycho generally did well. Title match should be a lot of fun.

Match 2: Angélico, Garza Jr., Jack Evans vs Mr. 450, Súper Fly, Texano Jr.
Arena Xalapa, Xalapa, Veracruz, 11/06/2015
Video:

Winner: rudos (Texano powerbomb Garza Jr.)
Match Time: 12:25
Notes: Mr. 450 is now a rudo, flipping sides off screen. Pentagon Jr. rushes out as soon as the match is over, attacking Jack Evans again. Angelico tries to make the save, but Pentagon drops Jack with the Pentadriver again. Pentagon grabbed the microphone to challenge for the tag titles again, and claim he’ll take Jack’s hair next. Jack is eventually stretchered out.

Review: [good] I don’t feel as strongly about this one as the other, because it felt very similar to the match we last saw with the guys, but they pulled the match off entertainigly enough. Jack and Angelico have their teamwork down and really made this match work. Texano plays off Garza well, but Garza hasn’t looked as impressive as you’d expect in these matches. Mr. 450 worked out better on the rudo side, seemingly making more of an impact in this match than Super Fly.

  • Promos from Dr. Wagner and Rey Mysterio about Wagner’s actions last week.

  • Johnny Mundo made Rey Mysterio bleed in Xalapa, which will be shown next week.

  • Jesus hypes the Guerra de Titanes lineup. Mundo/Mysterio is not mentioned, but shown in a promo following this segment.

  • Averno & Chessman join the segment to demand to be in the tag title shot. Averno says they’re allied with La Sociedad, but they have no problem going against them for the titles.

Match 3: Drago, Murder Clown, Speedball vs El Mesías, Hijo del Fantasma, Taurus
Arena Xalapa, Xalapa, Veracruz, 11/06/2015
Video:

Winner: rudos (Mesias top rope splash Drago)
Match Time: 11:51
Notes: Monster Clown appeared to be injured after a DDT, but the rudos beat him up anyway. Rudos lay out all tecnicos for no particular reason.

Review: [good] better than I thought it would be and maybe the best Speedball exhibition of his run so far. He got over just by having time to do his quick kicks, with the crowd getting into him from the start against Taurus. Not sure if they had a little extra time or if these matches just weren’t edited as tightly because there were only three matches, but it felt like Speedball specifically had more time to do things. They also left Murder Clown with time to do things, and he almost felt off the top rope badly before getting DDTed on his head and being out of the rest of the way, so more time is not always a good thing. This was a pretty good rudo team, who helped Drago & Speedball look good and otherwise hit Murder’s limitation.

Taurus is weak against crane kicks!

giant hanging DDT may not have been a great idea
