Kamaitachi wins!

Recapped: 11/27/2015

What happened: a Negro Casas fouled Super Parka in the main event, which led to singles match challenges. In more promising news, Kamaitachi defeated Dragon Lee to set up a title match next week. Super Comando also lost by DQ to The Panther. Panther wants a mask match, Comando says Panther needs to proof himself.

What was good:  a Dragon Lee & Kamaitachi was great, at always. Second match and fifth match were good.

Where can I watch it:  The main matches will air on Azteca in two or three weeks. It’ll be up on my YouTube channel on Tuesday.

Match 1: Robin & Sensei vs Espanto Jr. & Hijo del Signo
Arena México, 11/27/2015

  1. rudos
    • careta on the tecnicos (4:30)
  2. tecnicos
    • Sensei cross armbreakerHIjo del Signo (2:40)
    • Robin double underhook powerbomb Espanto (3:06)
  3. rudos
    • Espanto Jr. Canadian Destroyer Robin (3:59)
    • Hijo del Signo top rope splash Sensei (4:09)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:45

Review: [below average] Lived down to expectations. Espanto/Signo are made for each other, the sons of really great luchadors who will never escape the first couple of matches. It’s a great team for Hijo del Signo, who looks great next to Espanto. Espanto couldn’t get up for the Tiger Bomb, looked a mess in a third fall. Bring on some new rookies.

Match 2: Esfinge, Soberano Jr., The Panther vs Disturbio, Okumura, Súper Comando
Arena México, 11/27/2015

  1. tecnicos
    • Nudo Egpico on Okumura (3:44)
    • Soberano Jr. guillotine moonsault Disturbio (4:09)
  2. tecnicos
    • DQ Super Comando [ripping off Blue Panther’s mask] (4:32)

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:41
Notes: The Panther challenged Super Comando to a mask match, Comando sort of accepted, mostly beat up the Panther.

Review: [good] A nice heated battle between Super Comando & T. Panther, the best they’ve done so far in the feud and the one that most promisingly set up a singles match. Super Comando did look weird wearing a t-shirt, but everything else (including Panther’s tope) worked really well. The other guys contributed too. Soberano particularly looked super with every high flying spot he did, having a flawless night. This was a match where having dives added a lot to the match, so it’s good they let them do it in a segunda.

Diamante Azul isn’t using this so…
The Panther crushes Super Comando with a tope
Okumura KOed
Soberano’s tornillo earlier was good too

Match 3: Ángel de Oro, Titán, Tritón vs Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado
Arena México, 11/27/2015

  1. Boricuas
    • Pierroth powerbomb Angel de Oro (3:11)
  2. tecnicos
    • Triton huracanrana Sagrado (2:06)
    • Titan huracanrana Misterioso (2:14)
  3. tecnicos
    • Angel de Oro casita Pierroth (5:46)

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:11

Review: [ok] Formula Boricuas match, complete with a change of momentum quick win, and a (near) fall when the rudos wall away from a wheelbarrow and someone gets in a casadora. The tecnicos are just plugged into a role for these and these guys did it better than average, with Angel de Oro only getting a bit of his checklist but Triton & Titan looking good on the double moonsault. Pierroth is really helped by having these teammates and this formula, because he still looks poor on his own.

Titan & Triton double springboard moonsault

Match 4: Dragon Lee vs Kamaitachi in a lightning match
Arena México, 11/27/2015

Winner: Kamaitachi (headscissors Canadian Destroyer)
Match Time: 6:38
Notes: Kamaitachi demands a title match.

Review: [great] not even seven minutes, but they basically worked it like the first half was clipped out and went right to destroying each other with big moves. Much of this match looked not just good, but outstanding. Kamaitachi countering Dragon Lee’s double stomp, Dragon Lee’s tope con giro, the finish itself all looked superb. These guys could easily get by with repeated their previous matches and they instead keep on building and improving; the phoenixplex Dragon Lee was struggling with before is just tossed off like no big deal in this match. Can’t wait until next week.

Match 5: Atlantis, Guerrero Maya Jr., Stuka Jr. vs Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto
Arena México, 11/27/2015

  1. tecnicos
    • Stuka torpedo splash Mephisto (3:35)
  2. Hijos del Infierno
    • Mephisto sunset flip Atlanits (3:32)
  3. Hijos del Infierno
    • Lucifierno Crash on Guerrero Maya (4:49)
    • Ephesto moonsault counter boots Stuka (5:02)

Winner: Hijos de Infierno
Match Time: 11:59

Review: [good] Usual solid match between these teams, with Stuka Jr. basically playing the role of Delta. Hijos del Infierno looked a little better than usual, still doing all their normal sets. No one’s more excited for Atlantis’ quebradoras than Guerrero Maya. This was kind of in a tough spot, because there’s no way they’re doing four angles on the same show and the main event seemed like a setup to one, so nothing could much happen in a match we’ve seen a lot of times and it was going to be very hard to follow the one we just saw. They still put in a professional effort.

Match 6: Mistico, Super Parka, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Negro Casas, Shocker
Arena México, 11/27/2015

  1. tecnicos
    • Super Parka bow and arrow Negro Casas (2:06)
  2. rudos
    • Felino middle rope elbow drop Super Parka (4:12)
    • Shocker fireman’s carry drop Mistico (4:48)
  3. tecnicos
    • DQ Negro Casas [foul Super Parka] (2:02)

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:56
Notes: Volador Jr. challenged Negro Casas to a singles match on his behalf.

Review: [ok] The good news is neither Shocker or Felino was the weak link in a match. The bad news is Super Parka was also in the match. That good debut against Rush is a distant memory now. Bits like Parka seemingly forgetting how to do the submission at the end of the first fall are more than norm. They set up a singles match after, but that seems like a very bad idea. Volador & Mistico got to do a little of their normal stuff, but Monito’s comedy with Shocker was the highlight.

double tope con giro
Monito is the best
