CMLL on CadenaTres: 2015-10-03

teamwork!

Recapped: 10/29/2015

What happened: Mephisto fouled Maximo in the main event, but that wouldn’t go anywhere. Really, nothing important happened.

What was good: I liked the second and fourth trios matches the best. This was a more fun Tuesday show than normal because of a very enthusiastic crowd.

Where can I watch it: It’s on my channel, but the volume is very loud. Sorry.

  3. Peloton del Terror

    • Flyer huracanrana Artillero (2:24)
    • Super Comando stretch on Flyer (2:56)

Winner: Peleton de Terror (2-1)
Match Time: 11:31

Review: [ok] not half bad, which makes it an exceptional Tuesday opener. Rudos felt like trying, Flyer looked good, and Robin wasn’t as much an anchor on this match as other people have been. Robin and Artillero still messed up a Canadian Destroyer something fierce and this was nothing to go out of your way to watch, but it was a professional match.

a highlight

    • Okumura brainbuster Oro Jr. (4:15)
  3. rudos
    • Sangre Azteca counter powerbomb Triton (4:12)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 18:33

Review: [good] surprisingly entertaining midcard match. There’s potentially good luchadors here, but it’s again more effort than I was expecting out of the match. The last few moments of both the first and third fall were entertainingly chaotic without people just running into each other. Triton looked real good, and people who don’t normally do (Oro Jr., Sangre Azteca) did better than usual. Star Jr. had some good moments, but got totally lost for a stretch in the second fall. Bestia Negra ignored Sangre Azteca breaking up the winning pinfall in the first fall and I’m not sure who was in the wrong there. Triton wearing a combo match to team with Esfinge without Esfinge being there was strange.

    • Estrellita bridging backslide Amapola (2:15)
    • Princesa Sugehit La Mistica Dalys (2:15)

Winner: tecnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 10:40

Review: [ok] shorter than a normal match but fine given who was involved. This was a decent women’s match without too many problems. Sugehit & Zeuxis are a few weeks away from a title match (which isn’t really hinted at here) but really struggle working together in their first fall exchange and never work much against each other the rest of the way. Letting these women do dives – even just Estrellita & Marcela’s ones off the apron – but not the men in the previous match lacks all common sense. There’s really kind of no rudo mistake that leads to the comeback. Marcela just decides this is the moment she’d like to do moves, does those moves, and then they win about 20 seconds later. A little interesting that they trusted Dalys to take La Mistica and not Amapola.

Match 4: Guerrero Maya Jr., Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Hechicero, Luciferno, Terrible

    • Stuka huracanrana Hechicero (2:36)
  3. rudos
    • Terrible powerbomb Valiente (3:58)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:34

Review: [good] Good first couple falls. There’s not as much to the last fall, but it’s another fun midcard match on a show with a lot of them. Hechicero took a spectacular Black Warrior flip bump onto his face in the third fall. That seems not fun. Valiente is not good for more than a couple neat dives right now, but they are pretty neat dives. He had a big fall out of the ring that looked like it wasn’t designed to be such a big fall, but he’s wasn’t agile enough to safely land on the apron. Stuka’s moonsault to the floor looked good. Terrible’s powerbomb for the win looked all the more impressive for how he kept it together when it was falling apart.

Stellar Moments

El Rudo: Raziel off the shoulder powerbomb on Pegasso

Lo Dolorso: Valiente dropkick to Marco’s knee makes him fall on his headlock

El Lance: Gran Guerrero dive onto Pólvora and Dragon Rojo

El Trinunfo: La Sombra beats Atlantis

Lo Espectacular: Volador Jr. vs Rush

  3. rudos
    • Mephisto foul Maximo (4:14)
    • Ephesto inside cradle Dragon Lee (4:14)

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:34

Review: [ok] Probably the worst match on the show thru the first two falls, because the referee called a countout when he one wasn’t planned, and they had trouble recovering back in their match from there. Crowd was really excited for the match all the way and the confusion didn’t hurt there enthusiasm. Sombra generally worked as a tecnico until the third fall, but then there wasn’t much else for him. Refusing the high tens before the triple dive was great. The limited time and weirdness meant Dragon Lee couldn’t go full Dragon Lee.
