10/04 AAA TV Results (Heroes Inmortales)

AAA TV (SUN) 10/04/2015 Domo de San Luis, San Luis Potosí, San Luis Potosí [The Gladiatores]
Heroes Inmortales IX
1) Taya © b Goya Kong, La Hiedra, Lady Shani, Maravilla [Reina del Reinas]
The two mystery people were Lady Shani (debuted on last taping) and Lady Maravilla. A good match, with Taya retaining by defeating (Lady) Maravilla. First defense.
2) Angélico & Jack Evans b Joe Lider & Pentagón Jr. © and Daga & Steve Pain [AAA TAG]
The two Perros del Mal teams fought like they were never allies. Myzteziz strangely came to the ring during the match, attacking everyone and costing Pentagon Jr. the win after a package piledriver. Most of the match chased Pentagon to the stage, leaving Steve Pain to be beat by Jack for the title change. Jack & Angelico are tag champions. Lider & Pentagon end their reign with zero defenses, but signaled they wanted a rematch.
3) Drago & Fénix b Brian Cage & El Mesías
Drago & Fenix fought well, but lost to Cage & Mesias. Mesias took Fenix’s mask after the match.
4) Taurus b Cibernético, La Parka, Blue Demon Jr., Averno, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Electroshock, Aerostar, Chessman, Niño Hamburguesa [Copa Antonio Pena]
The debuting Taurus got the win, eliminating La Parka last in the usual royal rumble fashion. Antonio Pena was honored with a moment of appluase before the match.
5) Garza Jr., Psycho Clown, Rey Mysterio Jr. b Hijo del Fantasma, Myzteziz, Texano Jr.
The debuting Garza Jr. is Hijo del Ninja, doing Hector Garza spots. He looked fine, but took the loss to Myzteziz. Myzteziz had problems with his partners but seemed on the same page after the win.
6) El Patrón Alberto © DQ Johnny Mundo [AAA HEAVY]
second defense. Johnny was caught using a guitar as a weapon by Hijo del Tirantes. Mundo had earlier slapped Tirantes for not counting fast enough, so Tirantes called the DQ. Cage (Mundo’s second) and Mundo attacked Alberto and Psycho Clown (Alberto’s second.) Rey made the save. Myzteziz attacked him. La Sociedad ran out to attack the tecnicos and Myzteziz, smashing a guitar over his head for betraying them earlier. Alberto and Rey eventually ran the rudos off the end the show, but did not save Myzteziz.

Air Date: 10/17 & 10/24

All the details are the recap post below.

Chilanga Mask: 2015-08-16

Belial multitasking

Recapped: 08/27/15

What happened? Chilanga Mask doesn’t do a lot on show to show angles, so this doesn’t quite work conventionally. There were some stories though: team Oaxaca beat team Estado de Mexico, setting up a rematch on a future Oaxaca show. Disturbio’s Lucha Kaos group debuted with a win. Ultimo Guerrero and Caifan attempted to murder each other with chops, setting up a singles match a month later. The Guerrero Mayas attempted to murder each with everything and will likely fight again some day.

What was good? Dr. Cerebro versus Virus is one of my favorite matches of the year. I can’t think of a better Mexico woman’s match than Keira/Zeuxis. The Mayas have a super brawl. Pretty much everything is good, though the matches with a lot of people in them can get confusing and the main even requires you to like Pagano’s style.

Where can I watch? It’s all on +LuchaTV’s channel. Links are below

1) Draego, Flash I, Flash II b El Cuatrero, Forastero, Sansón
2) Felina Metalica & Súper Estrella b Chica Tormenta & La Pantera
Chica Tormenta attacked La Pantera after their loss.
3) Hijo del Solar & Huracan Ramirez Jr. b Canek Jr. & Hijo del Fishman
4) Fuerza Guerrera, Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Mr. Águila b Groon XXX, Pantera, Rayman
Fuerza pulled Rayman’s mask and cradled him for the win. Challenges followed.
5) Cien Caras, Máscara Año 2000, Universo 2000 b Canek, El Fantasma, Rayo de Jalisco Jr.
Mascara snuck in a foul on Rayo.

The missing results from the Leyendas show a week ago. They seemed to draw OK. Rayman/Fuerza would probably be a good match, if it happened.

The Crash (FRI) 10/02/2015 Auditorio de Tijuana, Tijuana, Baja California [Estrellas del Ring, San Diego Red, The Gladiatores]
1) Star Dragón © b Mirage [The Crash Junior]
Star Dragon retained.
2) Star Boy, Tony Casanova, Zarco b Ángel Metálico, Dinamic Black, Súper Nova
Casanova got in a foul on Nova
3) Fenix (AAA) b Angélico, Seiya Sanada, Matt Cross [Trofeo X Gym]
Fenix beat Angelico to win. Best match of the night.
4) Pimpinela Escarlata, Psycho Clown, Rubi Raze DQ Cibernético, Mamba, Taya
Rubi Raze debuted as the mystery woman. Mr. Maldito attacked Pyscho CLown to keep their feud going.
5) Bestia 666 b Pentagón Jr. © [The Crash CRUISER]
extreme match, with Bestia keeping the title.
6) El Patrón Alberto, Rey Horuz, Rey Mysterio Jr. b Daga, Extreme Tiger, Hijo del Fantasma
Tiger replaced Brian Cage. Rudos didn’t get along with him. Alberto submitted Tiger. Rudos (La Sociedad, Konnan) attacked Tiger after, with the tecnicos making the save to end the show.

People in the building believed it to be a sell out. They’ve done enough angles with Mr. Maldito & Psycho Clown that I actually believe they’re going to do that mask match (because it’d also be a pretty good payoff for Maldito.) I’m posting this late enough so I don’t have to wonder if Rubi Raze is the mystery luchadora on Heroes Inmortales. (She was not.) Highlights have escaped from this show and are said to look good. The Gladiatores has interviews from Mr. Maldito and Bestia 666.

CARA Lucha (SAT) 10/03/2015 Arena San Juan Pantitlan, Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, Estado de México [Black Terry Jr. (Flickr), Estrellas del Ring, Kronosport, The Gladiatores]
1) Estrella De Oro & Reyco b Maligno Negro & Rey Carnero
2) Centvrión, Fly Warrior, Látigo b Magnífico I, Magnífico II, Metaleón
Metaleon replaced Mr. Leo (injury.) Good match, win for the debut Mala Hierba.
3) Wasson b Jocker (Guadalajara)
Jocker wants a rematch in Guadalajara.
4) Flyer, Hombre Bala Jr., Oro Jr. DQ Andy Boy, Danger, Guerrero Mixtico
Danger unmasked Fly for the DQ. Oro Jr. was the mystery luchador on the CMLL side.
5) Dave The Clown b Espanto Jr. and Guerrero Mixtico
Violento Jack missed the match due to injury and Stuka Jr. was just missing. Dave was the only originally scheduled wrestler to appear and won.
6) La Sombra & Trauma I b Rush & Trauma II [Relevos Increíbles]
Match ended when Sombra offered to lay down for Rush, but Rush insisted on taking the pin instead. Crowd was not amused.

The second match sounds like the best match on the show, which would be two in a row for Mala Hiebra. Rush & Sombra seem to be on team “Relevos Increibles are dumb”, which is good for me but possibly not for the people who wanted to see that main event.

CMLL (SAT) 10/03/2015 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Sensei b Inquisidor
2) Eléctrico b Pequeño Olímpico
3) Tiffany b Lluvia
4) Sangre Azteca b Starman
5) Blue Panther Jr. DQ Virus
Virus pulled the mask for the DQ.
6) Rey Bucanero & Vangellys b Titán & Tritón
rudos took 2/3
7) Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Rey Escorpión b Atlantis, La Máscara, Valiente
Rey Escorpion pulled Atlantis mask and rolled him up for the win.

A usual Saturday show. The recap praises Titan & Triton despite their loss.

CMLL (SUN) 10/04/2015 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Apocalipsis & Cholo b Bengala & Leono
2) Demus 3:16, Mercurio, Pequeño Nitro b Astral, Stukita, Último Dragoncito
Demus beat champion Astral
3) Blue Panther Jr., Rey Cometa, The Panther b Puma, Tiger, Virus
Cometa beat Puma
4) Ángel de Oro b Hechicero [lightning]
Mecedora beat Hechicero on 9:30
5) Stuka Jr., Super Porky, Titán b Boby Zavala, Felino, Niebla Roja
6) Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Terrible b Marco Corleone, Máximo, Valiente
Terrible beat Maximo, which CMLL indicated could be part of a title challenge.

There’s a big show at the end of the month and Terrible challenging for the title makes as much sense as anyone. Still, it’s longer away than they usually spend building up title programs.

Niebla Roja says he’s going to spend the next two months in the US. He’s turned up working small shows in Arizona and Texas before and presumably will be doing more of those.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update

CMLL has a report on the lucha libre panel discussion from Wednesday, which included Guerrero Maya and Hechicero.

Lucha Libre in Japan

on the 10/04 Dragon Gate show, Flamita join the Dia Hearts faction, and he and Dragon Kid now will challenge for the Open the Twin Gate championship on 10/17. I think this nudges the “which promotion will Flamita be part of in 2016” slightly more towards the Dragon Gate side, though we’ll probably know a lot more in two weeks.

Star Fire, back in Mexico, says she hopes to get rematch for the NEO High Speed championship next year (so I guess she’s going back!)

AAA Heroes Inmortales: 2015-10-04

Recapped: 10/04/2015

What happened: A show long storyline had Myzteziz annoy La Sociedad enough that they ended up laying him out with a guitar by the end of the show. He wanted to be on his own and appears to be – Alberto & Rey made no attempt to save him.

Alberto retained the heavyweight title over Johnny Mundo when Mundo was spotted using that same guitar by Hijo del Tirantes. Mundo had slapped Tirantes moments earlier, and Tirantes played it fair after that as he usually does, disqualifying Mundo. The rudos beat up Mundo and second Psycho Clown, Rey made the save, Myzteziz attacked him, La Sociedad attacked Myzteziz and eventually Alberto and Rey ran everyone out. Alberto thanked his hometown fans after the match.

what

Pentagon Jr. & Joe Lider’s ten month zero defense tag team title reign came to an end earlier in the night. Angelico & Jack Evans won the championships for the second time when Jack pinned Steve Pain (the only rudo not wearing Perros del Mal gear.) Pentagon Jr. might have won the match and kept the title earlier except for Myzteziz running into break up a pin. Myzteziz seemed to attack all three teams and there was no rhyme or reason to his attack.

Myzteziz also did not get along with Hijo del Fantasma and Texano Jr. in their trios match against Rey Mysterio Jr., Psycho Clown and the debuting Garza Jr. (Hijo del Ninja doing Hector Garza spots.) The rudos kept it together enough to get the win – Myzteziz beating Garza – but it apparently was a fakeout to set up the attack later.

a bit familiar

One Perros del Mal member did win on the night: Taya kept the Reina de Reinas championship by making her first defense. She pinned the debuting Lady Maravilla with her northern lights suplex/double stomp combination. Lady Shani was the other surprise wrestler in a surprisingly strong match.

Not all the debuting luchadors lost. Taurus, a new Minotaur-iish creature, shockingly won this year’s Copa Pena. He threw out half the field, eliminating La Parka last to win. Not much is known about Taurus but he appears to be – like Garza Jr., Shani and Maravilla – a Mexican luchador give a new/bigger role rather than any of the rumors foreigners or outside big names.

NEW HERO

What was good? Most of the show. The three way tag was the best match on the show, with the women’s match also being a standout. Most everything was good, though the main event had the combination of the usual AAA main event tropes and a clear desire not to beat either man. The LU Alberto/Mundo matches were better than this one, but you got the impression this wasn’t the last one in AAA.

There were no real problems with the iPPV once you got it running. (I think it went out for 2 seconds for me, it was fine when I refreshed.) Getting it running was the tough part. An issue with Paypal slowly processing payments was preventing people from being authorized to watch the show. Some people had to wait for a half hour before they were able to get in, some people never seemed to be able to get in.

Where can I watch it? If you can get them to take your money, the VOD is already up on http://internetvluchalibreaaa.com/. The show should start to air on AAA’s TV show starting on 10/17 (one week later than expected, as Monterrey was cut into two shows.)

Ultimo Guerrero advances towards a third Universal championship, a Rey Mysterio tour announced

echos of a decade past

CMLL (FRI) 10/02/2015 Arena México [ClaroSports, CMLL, Estadio Deportes]

Demus used the ropes to beat Shockercito. Shockercito wants a hair match with Demus 3:16 and Demus accepted.
2) Kráneo, Olímpico, Ripper b Blue Panther, Blue Panther Jr., The Panther
3) Ángel de Oro & Shocker b Último Guerrero, Dragon Lee, Cavernario, Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Bucanero, Luciferno [CMLL Universal, seeding battle royal]
4) Último Guerrero b Rey Bucanero [CMLL Universal, 8f]
5) Bárbaro Cavernario b Dragón Rojo Jr. [CMLL Universal, 8f]
6) Luciferno b Dragon Lee [CMLL Universal, 8f]
7) Shocker b Ángel de Oro [CMLL Universal, 8f]
8) Último Guerrero b Bárbaro Cavernario [CMLL Universal, quarterfinal]
9) Shocker b Dragon Lee [CMLL Universal, quarterfinal]
10) Último Guerrero b Shocker [CMLL Universal, semifinal]
11) La Máscara, Máximo, Super Porky b Euforia, Felino, Mr. Niebla
12) Atlantis, Super Parka, Volador Jr. b La Sombra, Marco Corleone, Rush
straight falls. Ingobernables were DQed for excessive violence on Atlantis in the first, Atlantis snuck in a foul in the second.

Stream was region locked for Mexico only (and not well; people from Monterrey were saying they couldn’t watch.)  No one, including the people running ClaroSports’ social media, seemed to know why. None of the matches I got to see (5th on) were very memorable and crowd energy seemed down to pre-LA Park levels. Ultimo Guerrero matches were intensely predictable.

Volador and Super Parka were happy with their two fall win. (Video of the interview.) Ultimo Guerrero was thrilled to beat his old rival Shocker and his old rival/friend Rey Bucanero en route to victory. UG immediately remembered Bucanero beat him for the Light Heavyweight title.  (Video of that.) Ultimo goes from winning his block to facing Pagano & Tony Cisneros in Oaxaca tomorrow.

San Diego Red has a partial report on last night’s show in The Crash. It was Rey Mysterio Jr.’s first match back in Tijuana after Hijo del Perro Aguayo’s death. Mysterio mentioned on Twitter that it was sold out, and it looks full in the video. Bestia 666 kept his title over Pentago Jr. in the semimain with a Spanish Fly thru a board.

Dr. Wagner & Silver King defeated Hijo de LA Park & Super Parka in Arena Aficion on Thursday. The Parkas replaced the Guerreros who were pulled after the Wagner fall out – so the guy in the tournament on last night’s show was replaced by the guy in the main event. That kind of makes my head spin, but also indicates Super Parka isn’t considered part of CMLL and can do what he wants (as long as it doesn’t involved a mic.)

Tomorrow is Heroes Inmortales. AAA’s sent out a Myzteziz interview about ending Rey Mysterio. He will probably not end Rey Mysterio tomorrow. They’re putting up a lot of promos for the PPV on YouTube elsewhere; there is a last few days push to get people to care about the show. Still not feeling it, but maybe after I watch the TV? I am ordering the show and will do some form of live coverage tomorrow. Show is scheduled to start at 6pm. It’s a conventional PPV, so that should be close to correct.

El Hijo del Santo continues to tease that he could retire at any time and any match could be his last in his column. He’s got a show Monday in Leon and a yet to be announced lineup in Puebla on the 17.

La Hiedra hopes to wrestler in Korakuen Hall someday. She’s trained with Sangre Chicana, Kendor Jr., Laredo Kid and now Villano IV.

Coco Rojo says he’s being falsely advertised for a show in Chilpancingo tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the debut show for RIOT wrestling in Monterrey.

A film on Arena Azteca Budokan is being shown at a film festival this weekend.

11) ? vs ? [CMLL Universal, quarterfinal]
12) ? vs ? [CMLL Universal, semifinal]
winner faces Ultimo Guerrero on 10/16

Heddi Karoui? Heddi Karoui is scheduled to work Monday in Leon for Hijo del Santo and has been a regular for them. CMLL policy is you can’t work for them and Santo. At least that’s what the policy was. IWRG’s also been building Karaoui up for matches that he won’t be able to do if he’s full time in CMLL. He might not be full time in CMLL. Karaoui’s not been interesting on indy shows for many years, he’s mostly wrestled as a rudo and there’s no obvious reason to bring him in. There’s many undercard guys who’d be better in that spot. Maybe everyone trying to get into CMLL should go do low level MMA.

Atlantis & Volador are the two favorites in this block, both making sense as an Ultimo Guerrero opponents. Negro Casas can’t be ruled out and Maximo should have a chance (though he also has a chance to lose in 5 minutes.)

Opener follows up on the Demus/Shockercito stuff, which seems like a natural for one of the Dia de Los Muertes shows.

We don’t know if this show will air on Claro. Maybe CMLL will mention on Informa? Maybe they won’t mention until Friday.

ZZInc (SAT) 11/07/2015 Auditorio Benito Juárez, Veracruz, Veracruz
1) Rey Mysterio Jr. vs El Patrón Alberto, Australian Suicide, Dr. Wagner Jr., Johnny Mundo, Low Ki, Hijo De Dos Caras, Blue Demon Jr., Psicosis I, Brodus Clay, El Mesías,Pentagón Jr., Fenix (AAA), Drago (AAA), Sanada, Steve Pain, Willie Mack

ZZInc (SAT) 11/21/2015 Plaza de Toros, Santa Maria, Querétaro, Querétaro
1) Rey Mysterio Jr. vs Johnny Mundo, El Patrón Alberto, Drew Galloway, Moose, MVP, Blue Demon Jr., Myzteziz, Angélico, El Mesías, Sexy Star

These are weird. ZZInc is a concert promoter apparently putting together a “Que Viva el Rey” tour with Rey Mysterio. These are good size venues, the type of places AAA might run for a major show – though they might bring in as many foreign names for each show unless they’re running a World Cup. (All this foreigners instantly become possibilities for the mystery people on the upcoming tapings, though it’s more likely they’re just being brought in for one show.) Thinking no matches announced because a band doesn’t announce which songs they’re going to play.

Dr. Wagner might have known he was working the 11/07 show when he left CMLL, but I kind of think they would’ve let him work both. (See: Super Parka.)

The Veracruz show is potentially the first time Rey Mysterio and Psicosis will be in the same ring in decades. That’s also one day after an AAA TV taping in Xalapa.

CMLL on ClaroSports.com: 2015-10-02

I dunno

Recapped 10/05/2015

The feed was back to being region blocked again. No one, even the person running the ClaroSports Twitter, seemed to know why. It was a pretty thorough region block, with the Hola app we had used to defeat it still showing people in Mexico. Paid VPN solutions were working, but this was not a show you should be paying to see. I eventually got desperate/bored enough to try a random Mexico proxy and it worked fine. That’s not a great solution and hopefully it’ll be fixed next week. It’s hard to count on it when these things happen with absolutely no explanation or reassurance it’ll be better next time around.

So, this is a show where I missed a third of it, where one match was another unreviewable Alvarados match, and where most of the tournament matches were as a waste as always. Maybe the rest of the show wore me down, but the main event didn’t work as well as Super Parka’s previous appearance. It was not all him (though he wasn’t as good) but there were weird errors, a less excited crowd and a match structure that caused it to drag. The Ingobernables won a short first fall, the match was only going two falls, so they third fall was a long twelve minutes fall to get to about the usual time. Atlantis cheated to win, but there wasn’t any hint of a new direction coming out of it. This felt a little like killing time until they get thru the tournament.

not sure why he brought it back

The Universal tournament matches were the same all the way thru. One guy would get in all of his trademark spots, maybe neglecting to actually go for a pinfall after doing them. The other guy who would win. Ultimo Guerrero was always the other guy, and his opponents would always go for moonsaults they would never try in any other circumstance. CMLL thinking it’s a better idea to have Shocker versus Ultimo Guerrero instead of Dragon Lee versus Ultimo Guerrero was weird, but UG was winning either way so it didn’t really matter. Crowd was into UG as usual but this didn’t come across as impressive and the last match was a bit of a struggle.

flying Dragon Rojo

The one notable thing missed was Shockercito & Demus making hair match challenges in the opener. They’ve been feuding for a while.

Even though I missed most of the show, this’ll stand as the recap. Only Bucanero/Guerrero has any chance of airing on Azteca anyway. Rtings aren’t listed below, but everyone just gets an OK. Only times and GIFs below.
