CMLL Puebla: 2015-10-19

Thunder is back!

Recapped: 10/19/2015

What happened: The Guerreros and Revolucinarios had a match, which will set up the same match next week. Shocker & Sombra had a trios match, which will set up a singles match next week. Centella Roja debuted. None of this was good.

What was good: None of this was good, are you paying attention? I liked the opener but others found it sloppy. The rest of the show was easy skippable

Where can I watch it? It’s on CMLL’s YouTube.

CMLL to air Dia de Muertos show on cleeng (for a mystery amount of money)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuST_WA9lgI

I saw that still this morning, figured it was the same Dia de Muertos promo, and didn’t bother watching it. That was not the right move. CMLL announced they’ll be back on cmll.cleeng.com to stream the 10/30 (Friday) Dia de Muertos show.

You can not sign up right now. Right now, it’s a 10/20, 7:30pm show listed. CMLL separately announced the Tuesday opener will be streaming on the internet. This is that, and a test to see if whatever they’re doing will work for the PPV.

It’s unclear how much the iPPV will cost. The video doesn’t mention a price. The cleeng site gives the impression that it’ll be free, but that’s because it’s only showing the test broadcast. The last show was $10 USD plus fees.

It’s good for CMLL is trying this out whatever they’re doing it before doing it for ‘real’. It’ll help convince them if they can secure access. Most people, fresh off seeing the Anniversary show for free, will probably wait about 15 minutes into the Dia De Muertos broadcast to see if it’s also available for free. If it’s not, most of those will people probably just go onto do something else because it’s already 15 minutes into a show. The numbers for this show are going to be way down from last time, and not just because it’s no longer an Anniversary show. It’s the price of breaking trust.

It’s too bad, because these Dia de Muertes shows were visually interesting last and much more of a show than a normal Friday night card. They had big singles matches last year and might again this year. (Watch for an angle on Friday?) It’s a little close to the Anniversary show, but this show otherwise makes sense as a the sort of special attraction you could get people to pay to see.

CMLL hasn’t said anything besides the video. The thing I’m most sure about is CMLL announcers will spend the next week and a half plugging this thing between every single fall of every single match, so we’ll probably find out a little bit more on tonight’s Puebla show.

TxT in Puebla, Wagner vs Mascara

TXT (SAT) 10/17/2015 Gimnasio Miguel Hidalgo, Puebla, Puebla [+LuchaTV, Porra Fresa]
1) Mini Espíritu & Mini Psicosis b Mini Multifacético & Tony
2) Limbo & Templario b Coloso & Principe Christian
3) Rossy Moreno b Lady Apache
Santo Jr. appeared before the match as part of honoring Rossy Moreno for turning 50.
4) Cielito & Huracan Ramirez b Cien Caras Jr. & Rayman
5) El Hijo Del Santo & LA Park b Angel Blanco Jr. & Dr. Wagner Jr.
Santo & Park agreed to a truce after the win.

This is one of those show where there are roughly one dozen people standing at ringside taking photos and I can only find one recap the day after.

I forgot LA Park & Santo were ever supposed to be feuding, but Santo’s noted Park was one of the (few) people to check on him in the hospital after he was hurt (in a match with Park.) Cielito/Magnifico II seems to be the young guy they’re trying to do something with. It’s probably way too late, but he seems like a good pick.

IWRG (SUN) 10/18/2015 Arena Naucalpan [+LuchaTV, Estrellas del Ring, The Gladiatores]
1) Adrenalina & Dragón Bane b Guerrero 2000 & Vampiro Metálico
2) Diablo Jr. I, Flamarión, Vortice b Aeroman, Alas de Acero, Kanon
3) Apolo Estrada Jr., El Golpeador, El Hijo del Diablo b Diva Salvaje, Freyser, Hijo del Pantera
Apolo replaced Xandao.
4) Canis Lupus, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Negro Navarro b Heddi Karaoui,Pantera II, Veneno
Veneno had many problems and cost his team the match. Heddi Karaoui beat him up afterwards and challenged him to a title match.
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Golden Magic, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. DQ LA Park, Trauma I, Trauma II
Mascara 2000 Jr. ran out in the third fall and attacked Wagner for the DQ. He still wants revenge for the mask loss.

IWRG being more interesting for what it means on other things: Karaoui continuing to be in feuds in IWRG (and possibly being set up for a title win) again seems to suggest his appearances in CMLL are about promoting the All Elite shows and not him joining CMLL at this moment. Likewise, Mascara being a Naucalpan regular again and no sign of his plot on AAA TV anymore suggests he’s left that promotion. Maybe he wasn’t thrilled with his secret admirer?

Tigre Rojo Jr. unmasked Torbellino in Arena Coliseo San Ramon.

Segunda Caida reviews Blue Panther versus Negro Casas in a lightning match from 2013.

Super Libre had many guests from Mazatlan.

An article about lucha libre in Cancun has luchadors anonymously hoping the local commission gets dissolved and taken over by a national group, because the people in charge now (and for the last 23 years) have focused on boxing and ignored lucha libre. The article estimates 70 active luchadors in the area. All pay a 250 pesos licensing fee and they’re not quite sure where that money goes.

Lineups

CMLL (SAT) 10/24/2015 Arena Coliseo
1) Bengala vs El Rebelde
2) Sensei vs Akuma
3) Stukita vs Mercurio
4) Súper Halcón Jr. vs Cancerbero
5) Delta vs Sangre Azteca
6) La Vaquerita & Marcela vs La Comandante & La Seductora
7) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas vs Blue Panther, Titán, Volador Jr.

A show! Saturday shows are so forgettable that I forgot to post this. Stukita/Mercurio sounds good.

CMLL Titanes del Ring: 2015-09-05

the clothesline really puts it over the top
