Hey, it’s the big lineup were missing, with the heavyweight champion who’s also been missing. Alberto makes his first TV appearance since TripleMania in a title defense against Johnny Mundo. The two don’t have any special history in AAA (Mundo’s feuding with Rey before this and after this, judgin from the lineups), but feuded heavily in Lucha Underground. They had good matches there and this should be no different. It’s hard to imagine Alberto losing again in his hometown.
As with those upcoming tapings, there’s quite a few mystery people in this card. The one in the Copa Antonio Pena match could be about anyone. (We know Speedball is coming at some point, but that’d be a strange place to debut anyone since it’ll probably be on of those bigger names getting the win.) The one in the semimain – another Myzteziz/Mysterio trios – seems like opposition for Hijo del Fantasma. No idea on the women in the openers, though it’s slightly interested La Hiedra made the cut and no Apache did.
One more three way tag match, this time actually for the titles. I think this is just the start of continued drama between the teams. There was a tease of an issue between Daga and his Perros del Mal partners in Tehuacan, so they’re not necessarily going to be working together.
Not sure the reason of Drago & Fenix versus Cage & Mesias, except they’ve been seen together in combinations in other places and maybe it’ll work here too.
2, 3, 5 and 6 should all be very good, and it’s not impossible the other two could have some value. This is a good looking lineup.
No word if this’ll be an iPPV. It definitely won’t be a regular PPV, and it’s possible they might just not bother with anything after how last time turns out. It’ll be worth watching when it turns up on TV, at any rate.
