What happened that mattered? Marcela kept the CMLL Women’s championship by defeating Zeuxis. Mr. Niebla outsmarted La Mascara to win the main events singles match via DQ. Rey Escorpion & Mistico feuded in the semimain, which could be setting up a singles match between them.
How can I watch? It’s on CMLL’s YouTube channel.
Should I watch? Maybe a little of it. I liked Marcela/Zeuxis more the consensus but it was still a bit disappointing. The segunda (36 minute mark), with another Rey Apocaplipsis/Toro Bill Jr. appearance was the best match on the show. Dragon Lee & Kamaitachi sat out most of their match, though they were great when they were in. Most of the rest were ordinary matches. Main event was predictably poor.

Match Time: 18:13
Review: [below average] Lackluster match that went way too long. Metalico and Robin (who added nothing but a screwed up flip) weren’t up for doing much, and they did not much for a long period of time. These aren’t the local tecnicos to make it look good either. There are matches with more botched spots, but this had a low amount of entertainment value.

Review: [good] Rey Apocalispis & Toro Bill continue to be one of the most entertaining acts in the promotion, from coming up with a silly entrance each week to weird and good team work spots. (Toro Bill taking the fall to the floor to set up a Rey Apocalispsis tornillo slingshot was definitely weird.) The other locals look good; we haven’t gotten much Tigre Rojo Jr. but he did well with his flying moves and Lestat & King Jaguar were solid as usual. Molotov was out of place here but didn’t drag the match down.
Match 3: Marcela © vs Zeuxis for the CMLL World Women’s Championship
Arena Puebla, 09/07/2015
- Marcela Alejandrina (4:57)
- Zeuxis caballette (2:30)
- Marcela Michinoku Driver (5:57)
Winner: Marcela (2-1)
Match Time: 13:24
Notes: Seconds were Rey Bucanero and La Mascara. Referee is Pompin, who struggled in the match.
Review: [good] Started off very strong in the first fall and then kind of quieted down into just being a match. This was missing some drama. Crowd did not appear all that invested (outside of the Porras), not reacting much to the near falls. Marcela ended up winning without a problem in the ned, and without Zeuxis coming really that close. They did some interesting moves, enough for me to like it, but this wasn’t the extra effort you’d expect out of a title match. Pompin being very slow up and down hurt the pace of the match.
Match 4: Blue Panther Jr., Dragon Lee, Esfinge vs Kamaitachi, Misterioso Jr., Sagrado

Match Time: 12:35
Notes: Blue Panther Jr. replaced Blue Panther
Review: [ok] an off night match, with Dragon Lee & Kamaitachi only in for a few spots and the other four guys dominating the match. They did average, with is pretty good for Esfinge and Blue Panther, but it was disposable CMLL. Lee & Kamaitachi lit it up when they were in, destroying each other like always, just didn’t get the time to do more. Sagrado pinning Dragon Lee is sad but it’s usual CMLL randomness.
Match 5: Atlantis, Mistico, Titán vs Rey Bucanero, Rey Escorpión, Vangellys

Match Time: 12:01
Notes: Referee is Pompin
Review: [ok] A very regular move that came very late in the show. This would’ve fit in as a Tuesday main event. They struck stritcly to the matchups (Atlantis/Bucanero, Titan/Vangellys, Mistico/Escorpion), except for letting Bucanero drop Mistico right on his shoulder. That didn’t seem like a good idea. The focus was on Mistico, who’s not as interesting without Volador throwing him around. Titan’s moonsault in the third looked great, but this was another match where he had very little to do. Finish made the match even more meaningless.
Match 6: La Máscara vs Mr. Niebla
Arena Puebla, 09/07/2015
- Mr. Niebla top rope splash (2:04)
- La Mascara casita (2:35)
- DQ La Mascara [mask toss] (5:43)
Winner: Mr. Niebla (2-1)
Match Time: 10:22
Notes: Referee is Tirantes. For the finish, Mr. Niebla shoved Mascara into Tirantes, Tirantes fell down, and Niebla threw his mask to Mascara to draw the DQ.
Review: [below average] Match seemed certain to have peaked with dancing Zacarias as a distraction and it was hard to keep paying attention as soon as it was obvious it was nothing I’d need to think about again. These guys were doing nothing very slowly. Mr. Niebla appeared to be (relatively) sober, which actually makes performance a little less explainable. Niebla did try the moonsault missed, and it didn’t mean anything. (Sam thing with Mr. Niebla losing his mask the first time.)
