Not much news on this one.
CMLL has an English language promo for the IPPV, which is more English language promotion than I’d expect. There’s no sign of any English language commentary or anything (and one of their English language commentators is going to be busy with her farewell match on the show!)
Dave Meltzer mentioned he heard the iPPV would NOT be available in Mexico. None of the advertisements for the show I’ve seen have indicated that – they’ve said it’ll be available all over the world. If you’re in Mexico and have successfully bought the iPPV, let me know.
I haven’t heard anything about VOD being available. Shows like this are already on VOD, but it’s the first time so nothing’s for sure. VOD always allows you to buy after the fact; if you’re going to be watching the ROH show or otherwise busy on 09/18, I’d just wait until you’re ready to watch to put your money down to be sure.
ChilangaMask (SUN) 09/06/2015 Coliseo Coacalco, Coacalco, Estado de México [+LuchaTV]
1) Karma b Black Drago
2) Dragón Fly & Hijo Del Angel b Astro Rey Jr. & Psycho Kid
Astro & Psycho laid out Dragon Fly & Hijo del Angel after the match, challenging Angel to a title match.
3) Silueta b India Sioux
4) Solar I & Tigre Universitario b Black Terry & Jeque
Solar replaced Caifan. Said to be a good match, though Tigre hurt his shoulder. (He was later spotted in the crowd at Arena Mexico, so it must’ve not been too serious.)
5) Pagano b Aero Boy, Violento Jack, Cíclope, Fly Warrior
Masada was scheduled but could not make it due to Visa issues. This match was changed to a five way, with Fly Warrior also replacing Ray Rowe. Elimination match, with Pagano beating Violento Jack after unmasking him.
6) Fly Star, Fulgor I, Fulgor II b Alas de Acero, Aramis, Iron Kid and Arez, Belial, Impulso
Fly Star replaced Inmortal. Good match.
7) Raymond Rowe b Caifan
bonus singles match. Good match.
Rowe/Caifan is an interesting bonus match. Rowe’s won both his ChilangaMask matches so far. Caifan moves on from this singles match to one versus Ultimo Guerrero on the 09/20 ChilangaMask show.
Remember when Flamita was secretly listed on Verano de Escandalo’s lineup but also booked in the Mexico City area and we were trying to figure out if it would be possible to do make in Monterrey in time? Pagano decided to find out: after working the ChilangaMask show here, he was flying to Arena Coliseo Monterrey to fight LA Park & Nicho. That’s a man in demand. I’m amazed how much the extreme style guys can do, given that style has to be more punishing to your body. This seems like an especially long night for Pagano.
Paranoikio says he’s going to be running a benefit show for Crazy Boy soon and is looking for help. Crazy Boy went in for an unspecified surgery on Thursday, got out of the hospital on Friday, was in so much pain that he had to return on Saturday and is supposed to get out again after a day. Paranoiko says Crazy Boy is only making money via lucha libre and the medical treatment is costing a lot, so he’s hoping to help out. I’m not sure if this means Crazy Boy is off the DTU shows next week; I’d assume so but you never know.
Fenix, Aerostar and Drago won CHIKARA’s King of Trios, defeating the Young Bucks & AJ Styles in the final. This really surprised me; I actually thought they would be out first round and be used in the high flyers tournament on the second day. The AAA matches (one on each of the first two nights, two on the final) were said to be good. The shows are supposed to go up on CHIKARA’s website for viewing this weekend and a SD version of Day 1 is already up. CHIKARA’s been selling matches from their shows individually this year as well. Not sure if they’ll be doing it with this show.
On Saturday’s show, Fenix swore loudly in a promotion wearing the wrestlers are not supposed to use curse words. He apologized it before his first match, and was apologetic about it on Twitter earlier in the day. Judging from the little bit of Fenix we see on Twitter, he probably didn’t do it maliciously and was depressed after it happened. It appeared to be no big deal in the end.
Mascara Purpura participated in the Rey de Voladors tournament (losing in his semifinal) and in the tag team gauntlet (losing when partner Argos took the loss). It read like he did well in the flyer’s match.

Lineups
DTU (THU) 09/17/2015 Arena Aficion
1) Chica Ye-Ye vs Joven Maravilla, ?, Perro Negro
2) Kevin vs Jimmy, Tony
3) Pesadilla vs Rocky Lobo, Lanzeloth, Artikus
4) Cerebro Negro, El Recio, Ovett vs Ángel o Demonio, Drako, Fantasma de la Ópera
5) Septimo Dragon vs Chico Che, Aero Power, El Exótico, Black Fire
6) Damián 666 vs Halloween, Psicosis I, One Man Kru
7) Cíclope & Violento Jack vs Aero Boy & Miedo Extremo
A lot of the partners fighting each other scourge, including the battle of the Nerds. Still a show I want to see. Crazy Boy is not listed on this one, which makes more sense knowing about his surgery. (Though it makes it strange they didn’t know to take him off the show the day before.)

I never imagined I’d get to see Aerostar,Fenix, and Drago against Bullet Club on a TV,let alone live and in person! And it was a fantastic match, too, variations of Superkicks and assisted pile drivers from the Bucks, dime dropping and Asai Trustfall from Aerostar,a million everyone throws everyone out and then one guy tope con hilo (I think that’s the term) into the crowd, just awesome.
Earlier in the weekend AJ Styles had slipped on the top rope,so the story of this match was his repeated attempts to do his signature springboard superman punch.
Fenix got on the mic and dedicated the performance to Perro, showing his new looking Perros Del Mal tattoo, and all six guys shook hands and hugged. If the match is available individually then not buying it would be foolish, and even if you have to buy the show the whole show was great.
Yeah, this was probably the best King of Trios since 2011 when they had Great Sasuke. Fenix cried a lot this weekend, and seemed really upset that he did something wrong. As far as Purpura goes, yeah, he was great in the Rey de Voladores match on night 2 and then was placed with a rookie partner on night 3 and did okay, playing to the crowd more than he needed to.
Purpura was OK,but for what they probably spent bringing him in,just throw Fire Ant in there and get better results for less money/hassle.
When he was in CMLL Mascara Purpura was always a chore to watch in the same way Angel De Oro is. Just non-stop repetitive matches. No screw-ups or anything but just boring since the routine never changed. Haven’t seen him in a long time so not sure if he’s still the same though. But he does live in the US so maybe flying him in wasn’t costly. Maybe he even drove up with other guys.
