AAA TV (SUN) 09/20/2015 Arena Jose Sulaiman, Monterrey, Nuevo Leon
1) Dinastía, Goya Kong, Pimpinela Escarlata vs ?, Mamba, Mini Charly Manson
2) Aerostar, Argenis, Drago vs Dark Cuervo, Dark Scoria, Machine Rocker
3) Angélico & Jack Evans vs Joe Lider & Pentagón Jr. and Daga & Steve Pain
4) Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Cibernético, Hijo del Fantasma, Texano Jr.
5) La Parka & Rey Mysterio Jr. vs Brian Cage & Myzteziz

Air Date: 09/26. Surprising this is a one week taping. If the Hard Rock show is as well (it should be, it might not be), that means they’ve got to squeeze in one more taping to cover the week before Heroes Inmortales and probably the weekend after as well.

KDNA did say they were posting this lineup on Monday; KrisZ remembered.

At any rate, this is pretty close to the go home show for Heroes Inmortales – we should know the card by the time this airs, if not soon after – and it doesn’t seem like the set up to any big matches. Myzteziz/Myzterio are in a tag match here, figure to be in a main event team match on that show as well keep them against each other without doing the rematch. Brian Cage or Myzteziz working comedy spots with La Parka seems like a hilarious waste of paying them for the night. Not to mention your killer anti-Mexican rudo and your edgy new rudo standing around while Parka merrily skips back and forth on the ropes doesn’t seem to help them too much. (I guess it works if they straight up destroy Parka, but I don’t know that’s the idea.)

Semimain might be setting up a Hell Brothers/Psycho Circus trios title match – they haven’t had one yet without a third team being involved or a case of missing Cibernetico – but it also just might be getting people on the card. Tercera is a replay from Puebla (a week from tonight), with the maybe Anarkia team replacing La Secta. Joe Lider & Pentagon and Angelico & Jack are constants and would make sense for an AAA tag title match at Heroes Inmortales, with other teams thrown in as well.

Second match has no storyline but could steal the show, which is saying something given how good the tercera could be. It’s a really good tecnico team, a motivated Cuervo & Scoria, and the resurgent Machine Rocker. Aerostar is going to do something crazy and Machine Rocker is going to save him from dying, probably. Opener may or may not make TV – the opener on a five match show usually doesn’t – and there’s no telling if they’ll be back to putting matches on the internet a month from now. Best not to think about it too much, though it’s notable for being a mystery ruda luchadora spot instead of just Taya or even La Hiedra. I guess it could’ve been Sexy and they removed her after he injury, but that would be much faster work than usual.

We’re still missing the Hard Rock lineup in between Puebla and this show, but it’s notable Alberto el Patron isn’t on either show. He’s surely on Heroes Inmortales since it’s in San Luis Potosi. This cycle of shows are all Rey Mysterio & [X] against Myzteziz & [Y], and maybe Alberto just fits in as X on that show (and gets the pin on Cage or whomever to finally get the SLP win while leaving Rey & Myzteziz untouched.)

I don’t suspect we’ll be getting that Hard Rock lineup until AAA releases it – the hotel doesn’t need to advertise matches to get people to stay – but at least next Monday’s show will get some AAA news going again.

Toryumon Mexico (SUN) 08/23/2015 Domo del Deportivo Plan Sexenal, Distrito Federal [Estrellas del Ring, Kronosport]
1) ChapulinSonic
2) Fiero & Principe Azgard b Douki &Hanaoka
3) India Sioux & Lluvia b Tiffany & Xena
4) Hombre Bala Jr., Pantera I, Super Ciudadano bArkángel de la Muerte, Patán, Piel Roja
5) Rey Bucanero & Último Guerrero b Máximo & Último Dragón
match come down to the Ultimos, with Guerrero fouling Dragon, Maximo fouling Dragon, and Arkangel running into to unmask Dragon to give UG the win.

The usual Ultimo Dragon show, though they were using sponsor (?) NSK as the promotion name for whatever reason. (It’s under Toryumon Mexico so I can find it again.) Attendance looked OK.

IWRG (SUN) 08/23/2015 Arena Naucalpan [+LuchaTV, Black Terry Jr. (Flickr), Estrellas del Ring, Mano a Mano]
1) Aramis & Voltar b Magnum 44 & Vardeus
Vardeus’ main show debut; he’s been on the trainee shows for a year.
2) Avisman & Imposible b Kaving & Ultraman
Looks like it could be a new Ultraman, but nothing’s mentioned about a change in the recaps. First appearance by an Ultraman or Kaving since 2012.
3) Diablo Jr. 1 & El Hijo del Diablo b Hijo del Pantera & Pantera [super libre]
straight falls, setting up a title match
4) Negro Navarro, Oficial 911, Oficial AK47 b Danny Casas, Eterno, Veneno
Bloody match, with the Oficials attacking Eterno.
5) Golden Magic b Súper Nova © [IWRG JUNIORS]
Golden Magic wins the title by taking falls 2/3. Super Nova falls in his second defense. Golden Magic challenged Nova for a title match next week.
6) Canis Lupus, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano DQ LA Park, Trauma I, Trauma II
First Park match in IWRG in a year. Pagano’s debut on an IWRG show, though he’s wrestled here for other promotions. Traumas side is mentioned as being tecnico side, but it might have been rudo vs rudo. LA Park & Pagano feuded, with LA Park disassembling a turnbuckle and hitting Pagano with it repeatedly until the referees gave up and DQed him. All sorts of challenges followed, including a cage match.

LA Park, showing the skills he’ll undoubtedly bring to CMLL, started taking apart the ring during the match to set up the finish. This is great, if random, build to the LA Park vs Pagano vs Rush match in Cara Lucha next month.

I really have trouble figuring out who’s a tecnico or rudo in IWRG. I feel skeptical Golden Magic/Super Nova for the masks is actually happening until the card is announced: Super Nova would seem to be the favorite (just because it’d also seem like he could get a bigger match out of a mask loss if he wanted to lose it), but it doesn’t make any sense for Golden Magic to be an unmasked character. I dunno.

Tonight’s Arena Puebla show will have Mephisto defending the Mexican national light heavyweight championship against Atlantis. Atlantis really should win: he should be winning any singles match from now to the Anniversary show, Mephisto just won the trios titles and isn’t a guy who needs two titles, and Atlantis winning give CMLL 16 champions (and one Mascara Dorada) to run it’s Universal tournament. It makes sense for him to not win if he’s losing his mask at the anniversary show and really retiring immediately (as he’s suggested he would in years past), so no title change would feel like a hint. Atlantis could also just lose because Sombra costs him the match, and Sombra is in the semimain tonight.

It’s only a five match Puebla show, so it should be a quick one. Negro Casas is listed as wrestling in the tercera but probably won’t be. There’s no really great match listed; the opener, the semimain and the main event all have promise, but nothing must see.

UPDATE: CMLL just posted adjusted lineups for the week. Mistico is out of action (likely due to the shoulder injury he appeared to suffer on Sunday). La Mascara will take his place in Puebla and Tuesday in Arena Mexico, Marco fills in on Friday and Blue Panther will work Arena Coliseo. Tonight’s Arena Puebla show also now has Volador in the tercera instead of Rush and Stukita working the opener in place of Angelito.

Sexy Star says she fractured her clavicle. She’s was wrestling in Reynosa on Sunday. That’s an injury that’d take someone out of the ring for months.

Naito is on NJPW’s next tour, so the stories of him coming to CMLL in September repeated here do not appear to be correct. (Naito starting a feud with Shibata should’ve been a clue.) This is a minor issue lost in the Anniversary news, but Sombra ought to be very busy in Mexico for the next few months regardless of what happens in the mask match and it wouldn’t make sense for CMLL to let him go away for a month. The Naito & Sombra teamup might have to wait to December if Naito doesn’t make it back to Mexico.

Ultimo Guerrero says he prefers the Anniversary main event remain a one versus one match (and that he and Thunder are not added to it.) He doesn’t think it’s changing, but says it’s up to CMLL.

Box Y Lucha 3201 has Dr. Wagner Jr. & LA Park to CMLL as bigger news than the Anniversary show. There an argument there. There’s also note to the reader, acknowledge how infrequently they’ve been printing the last six months (or more) and explaining they’re raising the price 20 pesos to survive. They’ve been back to regular publishing the last few weeks.

Segunda Caida reviews Dr. Cerbero vs Virus.

AAA luchadors appeared at a air show. They didn’t have Fuerza Aerea meet Fuerza Aerea; maybe next year.
