Delta tope

Review: [ok] Comando Boricua having another one of their usual matches. They’ve gotten better and Sagrado & Misterioso have their teamwork down but are just good for a lot average matches. Sagrado worked great against Stigma and was a fun rudo in general, but there’s not much more to say for this match. Pierroth can only senton people.

Stigma drops himself on his head

Match 2: La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero

  1. Ingobernables
    • La Sombra double knee Gran Guerrero (2:33)
    • Rush double stomp Euforia (2:53)
  2. Guerreros
    • Tormenta Guerrero on all three Ingobernables (3:57)
  3. Guerreros
    • DQ Sombra [foul kick to Gran Guerrero] (4:15)

Winner: Guerreros (2-1)
Match Time: 11:05
Notes: Gran Guerrero and Sombra feuded (or Sombra just refused to face Gran Guerrero) for most of the match, leading to the finish.

Sombra had enough of this

Review: [ok] Another Guerreros/Ingobernables match, another time of the Guerreros working técnico. (Porra Fresa did cheer the Ingobernables, though.) A lot of brawling and a lot of time spent on Guerreros offense. Gran Guerrero has a complicated comeback combination! It could use some work. This match was greatly built around Gran Guerrero and Sombra, which suggests they knew they were doing the title match at this point.

Match 3: Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr. © vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Rey Escorpión for the CMLL World Trios Championship

leap of trust
  1. Sky Team
    • La Mistica on Rey Escorpion (5:03)
  2. Revolucionarios
    • Rey Escorpion Ajuicon Mortal Místico (2:06)
  3. Sky Team
    • Pólvora splash Volador (7:45)
    • Valiente Buster on Rey Escorpion (8:51)

Winner: Sky Team (2-1)
Match Time: 16:00
Notes: Newspaper recaps of this match said Místico suffered a neck injury. It instead appeared to be the normal selling of Rey Escorpion’s package piledriver finish in the second fall. (Stigma sold Sagrado’s finish similarly.) He does put on a neck brace and wrestles in it for a coyple minutes of the last fall, but Escorpion yanks it around and Dragon Rojo takes it off.

Rey Escorpion don’t care.

Review: [good] Technically good, because there were some highlights and most everything was well done, but it felt very similar to every big Sky Team match, or every big Místico match. The spots went better than usual, because Rey Escorpion is great catching people, but it felt like the Revolucionarios were just the rudo team plugged in to the very set formula. The only novel sequence was the one where Volador was surprisingly eliminated – only that was too big of a surprise for Tirantes, who failed to counted to three. They recovered, but it killed the momentum and Valiente defeating Rey Escorpion to save the trios titles didn’t feel as big as it should’ve.
