Match Time: 12:43
Rating: ok
Review: [ok] trying to make a point of getting thru these pointless C3 matches as quick as possible – spending time on the boring no hope stuff seems like a waste. This one was slightly interesting, because Espanto seemed to be trying harder than usual; he hasn’t looked promising since his first matches, but he showed a little here. He also seemed not to be taking care of his opponents too well, striking Molotov with clubbing shots in rough places a couple of times. Inquisidor kicked out of the finish when he wasn’t supposed and then complained Pompin about the count; a stellar performance.

- DQ Isis [mask pull on Vaquerita] (5:18)
Winner: tecnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 16:41
Rating: below average
Notes: Reyna isis’ in ring debut in Arena México, though she’s been around for years as a second
Review: [below average] not the festival of botched spots that this match seemed like it might have, just a series of overly choreographed spots and Marcela hitting Isis very hard to welcome here. There were still botched spots, and this still went too long (with an unneeded bit of near falls that only served to stretched this out.) Maybe the DQ finish was to set up Isis as Vaquerita’s rival, maybe the finish was just randomness. Isis appeared to be pinning herself on her submission and could only hold it for about a half second.
Match 3: Hombre Bala Jr., Soberano Jr., Súper Halcón Jr. vs Puma, Raziel, Sangre Azteca
Arena México, 05/19/2015
- rudos
- Raziel seated wristlock Soberano Jr. (4:42)
- Sangre Azteca pin Super Halcón Jr. (5:50)
- técnicos
- Super Halcón Jr. legdrop/Hombre Bala splash Puma (4:20)
- técnicos
- Puma huracanrana Hombre Bala Jr. (6:43)
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 16:53
Rating: good
Review: [good] only barely reached recommended levels. Soberano, Puma and Hombre Bala Jr. all looked really good, especially Puma near the end. Super Halcón was awful, having more things go wrong than the everyone in the women’s match. Both first fall submissions looked messed up, though at least one of them might have been Halcón’s fault too. Sangre not catching Halcón on his tope felt like a little payback or maybe. Puma’s huracanarana win was surprising.

- técnicos
- Stuka torpedo splash Luciferno (3:23)
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:13
Rating: ok
Review: [ok] perfectly fine midcard match. These are three técnicos who have their routines down and did the match you’d expect out of them. Even when things went wrong, like they did with Hechicero clipping Angel de Oro on a low leapfrog, they got it back on track quick. Completely forgettable but fine while it lasted.
Match 5: La Sombra, Máximo, Mistico vs Felino, Terrible, Vangellys
Arena México, 05/19/2015
- técnicos
- La Sombra double knee smash Terrible (3:54)
- rudos
- Felino reverse figure four Sombra (3:02)
- Terrible Dragon sleeper Máximo (3:05)
- técnicos
- La Mistica on Vangellys (6:17)
- Sombra Kiss of Death Felino (6:17)
Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 13:16
Rating: below average
Review: [below average] Sombra turning on his partners for the 500th time. The rest of this trios falls back on usual schitck anyway, and Sombra’s gimmick was going to make it hard to have a good match anyway, so no one really tried and it wasn’t much of a main event. Máximo and Terrible have nearly done their spots against each as many times the Ingobernables have refused to work with their partners (which never seems to hurt them at all.)
Match L: Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Virus
Arena México, 05/19/2015
Winner: Virus (double armscissors)
Match Time: 7:59
Rating: good
Review: [good] solid lightning match that felt different from their previous one, though not as good. I’m not sure if it was the whistling crowd which got them to give up the mat wrestling or the clock, but it was definitely an audience not interested in that particular style – even though it turned it to be the best thing they did, with the later half of the match being a bit more routing and not with the same intensity these two often have.
