Shocker & Rush off CMLL cards, Guadalajara title matches

CMLL (TUE) 05/12/2015 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno b Flash II & Magnum
Flash II replaced Metatron (double booked in Arena Mexico)
2) Goya Kong, Lluvia, Silueta b Amapola, Dalys, Reyna Isis
Lluvia beat Amapola
3) Esfinge & Gallo © b Misterioso Jr. & Sagrado [OCCIDENTE TAG]
Tecnicos took 1/3, Esfinge sneaking in a mask pull on Misterioso to retain. first defense for Gallo & Esfinge.
4) La Máscara, La Sombra, Super Porky DQ Euforia, Kráneo, Thunder
Kraneo fouled Super Porky.
5) Atlantis, Mistico, Volador Jr. b Gran Guerrero, Mephisto, Último Guerrero
Gran Guerrero replaced Mr. Niebla. Atlantida on Ultimo Guerrero.

Totally forgot there had been no results for this show, though the tag title defense was mentioned by Fuego en el Ring. At least three of this matches air next weekend.

CMLL (SUN) 05/17/2015 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [CMLL]
1) Explosivo & Meteoro b Guerrero de la Muerte & Relampago
2) El Piraña, Gitano, Thunder Boy b Frezzer, Linterna Verde Jr., Star Black
Thunder snuck a foul on Freezer
3) Metatrón & Pepe Aguayo DQ Furia Roja & Gran Kenut
Match was scheduled as Calavera/Metatron vs Pitbulls. Pepe pulled Furia’s mask for the DQ – it was unclear if Pepe meant to do it or not.
4) Esfinge, Gallo, Magnum DQ Maléfico, Ráfaga, Sádico
Tecnicos took 1/3, the last when Espectrum randomly ran in and attacked Esfinge. Espectrum took Esfinge’s mask.
5) Virgo © b Exterminador [OCCIDENTE MIDDLE]
Virgo took falls 2/3 to keep his the title, the last escaping a cavernaria and pinning Exterminador with a hurracanrana. first defense. This title had changed hands the last five times it’s been defended in this building.

None of the DQs/fouls in the middle three matches appear to lead to any matches on next week’s show.

CMLL (MON) 05/18/2015 Arena Puebla [Peridico Enfoque]
1) Rey Apocalipsis & Toro Bill Jr. b Leono & Sensei
2) Arkángel de la Muerte, Disturbio, Furia Chicana b Black Tiger, Oro Jr., Tigre Rojo Jr.
Tigre Rojo Jr. & Oro Jr. replaced Lestat & Starman. Furia first match here in nearly a decade (or maybe a typo for Fuerza Chicana)
3) Amapola, Reyna Isis, Tiffany b Estrellita, Goya Kong, Marcela
Amapola used the ropes to beat Estrellita. Estrellita demanded a rematch.
4) Ángel de Oro, Stigma, Titán b Hechicero, Morphosis, Ripper
5) La Máscara, La Sombra, Marco Corleone b Rey Escorpión, Terrible, Vangellys
6) Rush DQ Último Guerrero
Ultimo Guerrero replaced Shocker and fouled Rush in the third.

I’m convinced Furia Chicana didn’t actually work the segunda, but there’s no picture of him in the recap. Also, it doesn’t actually matter.

Shocker & Rush are both off the CMLL DF shows this week. Shocker was scheduled for Sunday’s show and didn’t appear in what appeared to be a last minute substitution (since Nitro took his place) and didn’t make his match last night. Rush missing shows seems related to investigation into his attack on a security guard since he wrestled just last night, but CMLL & Rush still haven’t said anything about the situation.

Felino is in for Shocker today, with Polvora filling in on Saturday & Sunday (with some other card shuffling today.) Maximo is in for Rush on Sunday. The Guadalajara lineups are not updated, but Rush probably isn’t working there tonight either.

Octagon vs Atlantis is off the next big Chilanga Mask show. It’s said to be a total bit of CMLL playing favorites: All Elite wanted to have them together first, so ChilangaMask can’t run the match anymore. Chilanga Mask also has an explanation of the Hechicero/Pagano match – both men came to the promoter and said they wanted to prove they weren’t one dimensional fighters.

Today’s CMLL show is headlined by Mistico, Sombra, and Maximo versus Felino, Terrible and Vanglleys, in a show existing because they run shows every Tuesday. Guerrero Maya vs Virus is the lightning match, which is always good.

There are two new commercials for the Lucha World Cup. Rey Jr. was continuing the media rounds today, including taking part of Televisa Teleton activities with other AAA wrestlers. Reforma has a breakdown of the tournament. The media has bought into the idea of this being a big deal tournament and given it that level of attention, which should help fill up Palacio de los Deportes on Friday.

The Arena Lopez Mateos anniversary show lineup changed, with “Richard Swam” replaced by Sadico. That was quite random. Dinamic Black is also off the show among other early match changes.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update, this week’s Poster-Mania, and a report on the FMLL show.

Black Terry Jr. has highlights of Rey Horus vs Flamita

RobViper has highlights of 01/20/15 CMLL

+LuchaTV posted their full interview with Rey Escorpion.

Lucha Libre in Japan

05/17 Stardom: Starfire b Koguma (c) [NEO HIGH SPEED]
Mildly interesting, because Koguma was scheduled to defend this title in Arena Lopez Mateos on Saturday.

Reina Isis is headed to REINA on 05/29. Their upcoming show poster also lists Silueta headed for shows on June 13th & 23rd.

Lineups

CMLL (MON) 05/25/2015 Arena Puebla
1) Meyer & Paris vs Akuma & Espiritu Negro
2) Arkalis, Lestat, Tigre Rojo Jr. vs Canelo Casas, Espanto Jr., Metálico
3) Estrellita vs Amapola [lightning]
4) Blue Panther, Stuka Jr., Tritón vs Boby Zavala, Puma, Tiger
5) Ángel de Oro, Máximo, Valiente vs Felino, Negro Casas, Ripper
6) La Sombra, Marco Corleone, Naito vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Thunder

A midcard feud actually gets followed up on. Naito continues to be teamed with the Ingobernables.

Sanchez FED (SUN) 05/31/2015 Arena Neza
1) Brillit, Davina, Guerra Isis vs Brillo De Luna, Princesa Legna, Star Queen
2) Casandra, Diosa Maya, Quimera vs Diosa Quetzal, Diva Virtual, Lady Sensación
3) Black Fury, Felina Metalica, La Hielera vs Big Mama, Cristal, Reina Dorada
4) Cachetada, Chica Ye-Ye, Demasiado vs Diva Salvaje, Estrella Divina, Miss Gaviota
5) Esther Moreno, India Sioux, Lady Apache vs La Diabólica, Miss Janeth, Rossy Moreno
6) Dark Angel, Estrellita, Goya Kong vs Amapola, Dalys, Tiffany

“FED” is a three letter acromyn and I’ve been watching just enough Mexican TV to assume this was a political party sponsoring this show. It’s actually the Lady Apache/Rossy Moreno women’s union, putting on women (and exotico) show.

Main event is the Sexy Team, actually together as a trio and promoted as a big deal. It’s also Dark Angel’s first announced match in Mexico since April, since her NXT trainer tryout. (NXT promoted two trainers today, which may mean there’s now open spots for others.) Dark Angel’s mentioned being back in Canada recently.

  1. Furia Chicana is dead since 2008. It has to be a typo or a new Furia Chicana.
