Astral, Eléctrico, Shockercito vs Mercurio, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito: [ok] lesser minis match than the ones these guys have had of late. The first fall was clunky, the second fall brief, and the third feeling just like an exhibition. Shockercito looked the best, but his big spot near the end didn’t go well, and the comeback spot had it’s own issues. Some stuff was timing, some was sloppy, but this didn’t work.
Ángel de Oro, Atlantis, Mistico vs Ephesto, Felino, Mephisto: [ok] another skippable match. Místico looked like the best guy in a match for the first in recent memory, though they edited out at least one botched spot and being the best guy among this crew was not a high achievement. This match in general was pretty obviously edited at times. Mistico’s first fall headscissors to the floor looked nice, but they broke the all time record for longest time a rudo spent standing and waiting for a spot to happen. Angel de Oro and Felino tried to feud, but other guys wouldn’t get out of the way. When they finally did, it turned out they didn’t really have anything interesting to do. I could not be less excited for that match next week.
La Sombra vs Rey Bucanero: [ok] Another one that was just kind of there. Neither man worked as a técnico, but the cheating wasn’t interesting enough to make a rudo/rudo match interesting. It was just a match without much emotion. Sombra did a few things but didn’t ever get out of second gear and Rey Bucanero did about what you’d expect at this point. The second fall finish count – after Bucanero did what he always does to Sombra – was hilariously botched. The ref bump in the third fall was ludicrous, with the referee standing in the way of Sombra despite Sombra going for the same spot he does in every match.
