Cancerbero & Raziel double submission

Esfinge, Fuego, Tritón vs Cancerbero, Maléfico, Raziel: [ok] generic midcard match. Esfinge feuded with Raziel randomly, finally overcame him in the third fall, then was immediately beat. Announcers screwed up the call of the finish but kept it in because these things only need one take. That sort of match. The most interesting moment of the match was the end of the first fall, where the momentum seemed to shift about four different times in thirty seconds. Triton pulled off a neat rope trick in the third fall, though it involved Raziel standing around watching for about 10 seconds. Appeared they were going for a zero dive match and they accomplished that goal.

don’t sit up near Dragon Lee

Ángel de Oro, Dragon Lee, Titán vs Bárbaro Cavernario, Felino, Negro Casas: [good] this was a lot of fun for the time it lasted, with everyone looking ON – at least of those who are capable of being on. Even Angel de Oro hung in well with Negro Casas in a long opening mat work section, before receding into the background the rest of the way. That may have been a Negro Casas thing, because this was one of those random trios matches where he comes off as the best guy in the world, still. The Angel mat work was good, the fights with Dragon Lee were superb and the bump he took at the end of the second fall was amazing. Titan and Cavernario kept up, bringing their A game to their usual rivalry, and Titan took the best bump for Zacarias’ 619. Of course, this being CMLL, the least compelling wrestler is now feuding with the second to least compelling wrestler. Felino was not as destructive as he can be in other matches, but he wasn’t on the same level as the other five.

Maximo’s had enough of Sombra

La Máscara, La Sombra, Máximo vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Vangellys: [below average] a year into this, CMLL’s still doing matches where the Ingobernables are betraying their partners. It’s such an immediate turn off, even with Máximo being as sympathetic as it gets. It’s also ill-timed, since this makes more sense as Terrible/Maximo build and Sombra/Bucanero is actually the match they’re doing, and they spent most of the match focusing on Máximo vs Sombra/Mascara. Finish was crap too. Announcers cut off the show as Rey Bucanero was doing the promo to set up next week’s match – if they don’t care, why should anyone else?
