Today’s AAA show will be a Perro Aguayo Jr. special. They’re show his matches from the 2012 Rey de Reyes, his hair match with Cibernetico, and a recent match with Myzteziz. They also will have other clips of his career, which mostly seem to be on the YouTube channel already.
El Fantasma, Dr. Orozco (Perro’s doctor) and Perros del Mal promotion representative Kahn held a press conference mostly to dispel rumors about Perro’s death – the usual things affirming the medical treatment was fine and the Perro family supports Rey Misterio and he’s not retiring. The commission showed Perro Aguayo Jr.’s license, insisting he was completely fine when they checked him out earlier this month. The doctor made special mention of Perro Aguayo Sr., saying Perro Sr. has suffered normal physical problems from a career of wrestling, but denied anything worse and said no one should talk of such things without medical reports. Kahn said they’re not authorizing any commemorative t-shirts or shows besides the next AAA TV taping on 04/01. (Rey Misterio Jr. said he’d be on that show, which came as total surprise to the local promoters. Some of these things are just communication issues.) The final statement at the press conference was heavy criticism of Hijo del Santo. Santo has been telling the press of a rumor that Perro had a neck injury, and they denied that. They also said Santo had not talked to Perro or his family since January 2011, is lying about how close he is to the family, and should stop giving statements.
WWE held a moment of silence for Perro Aguayo Jr. before the start of their International Media Day interviews on Friday. Also, Bad News Barrett professed to be a big fan of Super Porky.
