CMLL (TUE) 03/17/2015 Arena México [CMLL, Yahoo! Deportes]
1) Fantasy & Último Dragoncito b Pequeño Nitro & Pequeño Universo 2000
Ultimo Dragoncito replaced Angelito.
2) Flyer, Magnus, Robin b Disturbio, Espiritu Negro, Metálico
3) Puma, Sangre Azteca, Tiger b Hombre Bala Jr., Súper Halcón Jr., Tritón
Hombre Bala & Super Halcon replaced Fuego & Pegasso on Tuesday.
4) Astral © b Mercurio [CMLL MINI]
Seconds were Electrico & Pequeno Olimpico. Astral took falls 2/3 to keep the title. Astral’s 3rd defense. Money thrown in.
5) Euforia, Pólvora, Rey Escorpión b Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Fuego
Fuego replaced Dragon Rojo Jr. Rudos took 1/3.
6) Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. b Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto
Minis match sounds good. Not surprised Hijos del Infierno are losing already and can’t find matching gear. Unsure how Fuego ended up out of the tercera and in the semimain with only one of those changes mentioned.
Shocker & Negro Casas kept the CMLL Tag Team championship in Arena Coliseo Guadalajara.
EVERY AAA MATCH AIRING TODAY (or early tomorrow morning)
Lucha Underground (episode 19, “Grave Consequences”), 8pm EDT
- Aerostar [1] versus Drago [1], third match in their best of five series – match clip
- Big Ryck vs The Crew (Cortez Castro, Mr. Cisco, Bael) in a no disqualification elimination match
- Fenix vs Mil Muertes in a Grave Consequences casket match – match clip
There’s also another Konnan vignette. I finally figured those out last night. Wrestling fans: slow with metaphors.
People who were there believed Fenix versus Mil Muertes was the best match they’ve seen on the show, a brutal epic match. The promotion feels the same way, getting behind this episode. El Rey itself has heavily promoted this, including purchasing ad time on WWE Raw once again.
For a fun, this sounds like something to see. For someone tracking the chances of this show being picked up for a second season, the ratings outcome would also be something to see.
This is show two in a three episode group that ends a lot of feuds. Aerostar & Drago can’t end tonight, but the other two matches resolve those plotlines for now.
If you have an XBox1 and don’t already have access to El Rey, you can watch El Rey tonight. The SlingTV app for XBox1 was released yesterday, and comes with a 30 day trial of the service.
Rey de Reyes, on iPPV ($15USD), 10pm EDT
- Ludxor & Venum vs Carta Brava & El Apache – unofficial, but likely to be a bonus match
- Pimpinela Escarlata, Faby Apache, Mascarita Sagrada vs Mamba, Taya, Mini Abismo Negro – unofficial, but likely to be a bonus match
- Bengala, Drago, Súper Nova vs Daga, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Súper Fly
- Fénix vs Hijo del Fantasma © for the AAA Cruiserweight Championship
- Angélico, Blue Demon Jr., Jack Evans vs Averno, Chessman, Cibernético
- a replacement for El Patrón Alberto vs Brian Cage?
- Aerostar vs Psycho Clown, El Mesías, Texano for the Rey de Reyes championship
- Myzteziz & Rey Mysterio Jr. vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Pentagón Jr.
Those bonus matches appeared to be the plan on Sunday and Monday. It’s always possible different luchadors get sent back to Guadalajara. There’s been no hint of a replacement match for Alberto/Cage; it may still happen, but they haven’t advertised anything so expectations should be kept low.
High expectations for the show itself. It looked good before, the only match missing might have turned out to be the weakest one due to the circumstances, and they’re heavily motivated to make up for the mishaps.
I’ve got no sense about how the turnout is going to be. This is the strangest sequence of events I can recall and any level of turnout would make sense. It’s still Rey Misterio’s first match back, they’ve actually had more time to promote by being stuck in Guadalajara for a few days, so there are a few positive signs.
No idea how long this is going to go; they could easily go past 1AM EDT. The VOD was up pretty quick on the dry run of this in Mexico City; not sure if GDL will make a difference.
