Terrible © vs Máximo for the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship: [great] the first few falls were so slow that I didn’t think it would get to a high level and you have to live with a very screwy finish to set up another match down the road, but it turned into a really great match by the end. As usual, Máximo played it a lot more serious in a big match situation, still playing his character but more focused on winning the title. Terrible and Máximo have good chemistry but it took until they sped it up to really get the crowd into it. The crowd did end up caring much more than the Niebla Roja/Dragon Rojo match and they were treated into a few unique spots. They played off the usual cavernaria spot by having Máximo reversed it right into an armbar nicely, and they kicked out of pretty much everything else. Volador did cheat for Maximo, but he wouldn’t be Volador if he played by everyone’s rules. Maximo blowing the big spot near the end really hurt, but Terrible was great in just covering it up and they were smart to get do the kiss near fall right after. Finish worked as well as it was going to work.
Mistico, Valiente, Volador Jr. vs Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero: [ok] turned into a showcase for the new técnico team. Místico still doesn’t look good and isn’t hugely over, but he’d be in real trouble if he wasn’t Místico anymore. Feud makes sense but comes off as perfectly ordinary.
